I have been taking Sitara M 100/500 after breakfast and my postprandial (pp) level is doing very well. I take Glucophage 500 mg SR after dinner, but my fasting level is around 120 or 125. Can I discontinue Glucophage and just take Sitara M 100/500 in the evening? Kindly advise.

I have been diabetic for 10 years. I take Sitara M 100/500 mg after breakfast and Glycomet 500 mg SR after dinner. My fasting level is 132, and my post-lunch level is 161. My physiotherapist has asked me to take half of the Sitara M 100/500 dose at night as well. I am just hesitant about two things: first, whether Sitagliptin can be taken twice a day, and second, whether there will be muscle loss because an additional dose of Glycomet may lead to further muscle loss. What should I do? Is there any harm in taking Sitagliptin and Glycomet twice a day?
