Roxane Subutex (westward/hikma) (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

So for a couple years now my Roxane/westward/hikma pills have been super inconsistent or just flat out felt like 2mgs instead of 8mgs. Sometimes they work sometimes they do almost nothing. It started in about the end of 2015. I think i was taking them before 2015 but never looked at the brand until i started having withdrawals out of nowhere. It was like a completely different med. So for almost 2 years i have been having issues. I'm fed up and i have changed brands but always only had partial fills and back to the roxane/westward/hikma brand. Anyone else notice any differences in this brand?

Re: Davidjw1 (# 13) Expand Referenced Message

I told my mom n pop shop to order them..(Rhodes). They had them in the next day. They even called me to thank me about suggesting to order. They didn't even know they were out..kinda strange since they had been out since 2017, almost a year now. I know they sell the buprenorphine for $4 a pill w/o insurance so they can make over $2.40 per pill. I have insurance through so my 120 pills cost $45/monthly. I have one pharmacy by me that charges $3 a pill without insurance.

Um id like to comment on ur post. U cant go into the dr and say u wanna detox on subutex or suboxone bc thier going to tell u to go to rehab get urself clean and then after u complete the program u can come c the dr and he or she will put u on suboxone. Mostly the strips. Some dr.S use the pills but its hard to find a dr thatll give u strips and yah subutex is way cheaper and is a better feeling but u cant be put on subutext unless ur allergic to suboxone and for some reason u cant take the strips bc I was on suboxone 4 years and now im on subutex bc I cant take the strips and insurance companys only like to cover paying for the strips. They make me sick and dizzy where I fill like I'm gonna pass out. And another reason u could get subutex if u dont have insurance to cover them bc suboxone I do believe is 14.75 a strip and the subutex are only 6 dollars each and if ur on 2 or 3 a day thats alot to pay to be on suboxone but u cant ask dr's for wat they should put u on as thats a red flag and if u ask for a medication 99% of the time u wont get wat u ask for. Thats like me going and saying "i'm on anxiety medication can u put me on xanax bars"... So dont listen to that post. U have steps u have to take but there are some dr's if u go in and say u have a problem with herion or pain pills u wish to get off them, what can u do to help... He'll either put u on suboxone strips or tell u to go to rehab then when ur done he'll treat u. I had to do that to get on them and most dr's look at suboxone as a life long medication and some look at suboxone as a 1 to 2 year medication then bring u off them but my dr looks at subutex/suboxone as a life long medication but read this post if u want the 100% truth and most dr's dont use suboxone or subutex as a pain pill. It can be used for that but originally suboxone was made for alcoholics and they found out it helps with opioid addiction so they use it for opioid addiction now but their are some dr's out there I call them quack dr's that will give u suboxone when u go in if u say the right things. Dont ever ask a dr to be put on a certain medication bc u got a 100% chance of not getting that specific medication.

Ur on 4 subutex a month... I thought u couldnt be on more than 3 a day? And also my insurance screwed me. They said they would only cover my suboxone pills if I got lowered in 6 months to 2 a day, so I had to do that to stay on pills bc I cant take the strips and when my insurance changed back my dr wouldnt up me back to 3 a day. How do u get 4 a day? Are they the 8mg pills?

Re: Charlene (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

I didn't care for all the fillers and orange flavoring of the activis brand but I felt ok on them. I would like to try the Rhodes brand but I'm not sure my CVS will say they can order them. I might have to go somewhere else to get them. I don't know if there as good as some people are saying but I miss the brand name and the old Teva brand so much I'd like to try the Rhodes Purdue ones. The worst brand I've tried several times unfortunately is the hi tech tiny arrow ones... Those things are awful, way underdosed and should be taken off the market. The sun brand is pretty bad as well. Low quality and underdosed.

Re: Davidjw1 (# 22) Expand Referenced Message

I live in southwest Florida. For the NDC # 42858-502-03 I HAD TO USE A MOM N POP SHOP. I showed them the NDC # And I told them they came out in October 2017 and they cost the pharmacy $2.40 for each pill. And since most pharmacies in my area Charge from $3.75-$4.25 a pill they could just about double their money.. they called me the next day and said they were in...now like everyone knows each one of us is different on what buprenorphine products works best.

Please just don't take my word... but I have to say if you're like everyone else and stays with hikma 54 411s, the Rhodes will not let you down...I hear nothing but people raving and complaining about the original brand name subutex... for those of us that were lucky enough to try it. As of right now the only 2 generics that come close to it are these two... If you're not sure, do what I did get and a partial refill for 2 weeks. That way it gives you time to decide and try. With me, i need a month to decide. Now with actavis it was 4 days and i knew right then I did not like it...but go to the other medschat Rhodes threads and read all the raves. You will finally have found the best generic on the market today up with hikma brand.

Re: Charlene (# 24) Expand Referenced Message

Today I got a reply from an independent "mom n pop" pharmacy that does compounding, who I emailed requesting whether they could order the Rhodes Purdue Buprenorphine. Success!! Finally after three months and hours of calling, emailing and visiting pharmacies. I am in the San Francisco area and believe it or not they are able to get these for me at less than $2 each! So it can be done. It takes time and it is possible to get the Rhodes Purdue Buprenorphine. I will pick them up next week. Thank you for the suggestions and the NDC number, too.

Re: davidjw1 (# 25) Expand Referenced Message

Great news..concentrate on your journey. It took me a good 2 months to find them and get them. It happened to be the pharmacy I had always used..I'm not as brave as some. I guess shy. One day while driving home from the drs. I stopped in talked with them and yes they were very interested I'm thinking because of the mega money for them I think it cost my pharmacy some wear $2 each then sell them to customers for $250 cash price. I only had to do cash price a few times..darn its expensive for those without insurance. Oh btw, my sister in law other family members live in San Francisco..the first time I took the Rhodes and I noticed it doesn't have that strong bup. Taste it's very, very smooth too. I take 3 and a half a day. I haven't had any problem at all...well last month I got stuck with the orange ones that totally put my body out of wack..I picked mine up went straight to the car open the bag. And took one. I have to say they are so shiny and so well made. Its about time they finally came out with a good bup.

Re: Bobby (# 20) Expand Referenced Message

Did you ever find the Rhodes yet?? I can say they are so m.n nicly made and shiny. Its definitely a beautiful looking pill. But then again I think all pills are good. That's what landing me on these subs.i like that fact they don't have that bup taste afterwards. But I'm not going to complain about them to much, I need these pills to survive

I have been on the Westward 54 411 subutex for four years. Last refill I noticed that I'm extremely tired instead of the pick me up "get going" start that I used to have with them. Has something in the formula changed? They sure do not seem the same.

Charlene (# 26)

Hi Charlene my Pharmacy is in downtown San Francisco. If your family need a recommendation. Let me know. They don't take coupons (no compounding pharmacies do out here) and charge me less than what the chains do with a 76% off coupon. They can get or compound anything in the USA. Verrry customer fruendly and order my Rhodes ahead before I even provide the prescription! So i drop it off wait a bit and off I go. They're awesome. I will never use a chain ever again.

I'm a 4 year patient of suboxone to subutex generics after I lost insurance (with the GoodRx app they are cheaper) or wellRX is new and has a cvs coupon for 36. And Change for 30 8 mg tablets. Download the app!! Anyway, sun are weak, actavis are ok. I loved the westward/hikma but I just got the RP b8 from Rhodes and I am really impressed. I only had them for 3 days but so far even better than the 54 411 Hikmas!

Re: Janeway (# 5) Expand Referenced Message

I have been on Subutex 8mg for approximately 9 years now. From the same doctor in Florida. I have taken my prescription to multiple different pharmacies and I don't care if they red flag me, green flag me, yellow flag me. It doesn't matter to me as long as they fill my prescription. One of the problems you might be having is you want to take the Subutex for pain, that might cause you a problem with ur Dr. Or clinic. They do help with pain. Its tricky situation you are in. If you tell them you want it for pain you will have a much harder time getting it prescribed. Its for opiate users to get off of opiates. Now! Listen. If you want Suboxone for ur pain, you will need to tell ur clinic or Dr that u want it to get off opiates. Even though they help with pain they are prescribed to get off of opiates so doctors or the clinic will give u a hard time. You mentioned, the clinic said you don't qualify for their program right? That's because you are telling them you want Suboxone for pain instead of Suboxone to get off of opiates. If you really want Suboxone for pain you are going to have to lie and tell them you want to get off of opiates then you will get the prescription you want. Now a lot of doctors or clinics don't like to prescribe Subutex, they want you to be on Suboxone. And there's a difference in them for me. They work for the same to get of opiates. Good luck and do what I said.

Same problem and I've used the exact same pharmacy same pills.go on any buprenorphine board to many people changing and having withdrawls to some extent! FDA PLUS OR MINUS TWENTY PERCENT ON GENERICS WHEN YOU MADE US TAKE NAME BRAND FOR DAMN NEAR TWENTY YEARS. YOU TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ADDICCTS TWICE!!

Omg I wake up in withdrawal when they changed and I hate this because you’re stuck with the whole months worth of meds!

Re: Bobby (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

Hikma Buprenorphine is the only manufacturer that has I've become terribly ill from. Nausea, vomiting, sweating. I literally feel that I might die from taking this medication. I've taken Buprenorphine for over 3 years and tried just about every manufacturer and this is the only one that makes me feel sick.

Ive taken buprenorphine about three years with few problems but just went through two months of increasing nausea and vomiting and high pain levels after my pharmacy changed the brand to Hikma (I had no idea this was the cause until i switched pharmacies again and got yet a different brand.) My pain was under control again and the nausea slowly disappeared over the first few days of taking it. I plan to report this. I asked my pain doc and pcp but neither would fill an anti-nausea med for me. This has been a horrible and costly experience.
