Can flagyl be used for an upper respiratory infection? ## Hello, Jannette! How are you? Was it prescribed by your doctor to treat it? This generally isn't the preferred medication for such infections, because most of them are viral and self-limiting. However, in some cases, they may be bacterial and could require an antibiotic and/or a steroid, which may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness and diarrhea, as reported by the FDA.
Can it be a transmitted disease? ## Hello, Candy! How are you? I'm sorry, your posts aren't very clear, but I did provide you some information in the other one that I just answered. It depends on what type of vaginal bacteria is being treated. Yeast infections are not usually transmitted and neither are all cases of bacterial vaginosis. If your taking Flagyl, that is an antibiotic that's used to treat bacterial infections and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and diarrhea. Hi I had a week of amoxycillin which didn't work on the abscess located deep under the root. Was then prescribed 5 days of Metronidazole which I started yesterday. My whole neck and chest had broken out in a rash which bleeds in places and I had such severe diahorrea yesterday evening that I nearly passed out with the tummy pain. This morning I passed a tiny tiny piece of BM followed by a large mucous piece of tissue/blood which I have never experienced in my life. Should I ask for a replacement antibiotic to treat the bacterial abscess or persevere with this treatment. My whole chin is also very red, with the jaw line sore to touch so it's obviously a very deep rooted serious infection. I think I should phone the dentist after the weekend to tell them of my reaction to see if t...

My doctor diagnosed me with diverticulitis after a ct scan. Why do I take amox-clav 875 and metronidazole simultaneously? Thank you! ## Sometimes multiple antibiotics are given, if the doctor isn't sure of the precise bacteria that is the culprit, by taking more than one, it covers more possibilities. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, stomach pain and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My side effects also included a super metallic taste and a somewhat distorted sense of smell. Both have resolved after finishing course of antibiotic treatment.

Will 1 pill a day for 7 days of pliva 334 be adequate for dealing with a vaginal (bacteria) infection? I only have 7 pills and want to be sure.. ## No, that's not enough of the regular release tablets. You'd need 14 of the ones in this 500mg dosage. Handling this type of issue is exactly what they are trained for, so you should see your doctor as soon as you can to get the proper amount of antibiotic. They saw I had a hiatal hernia and swollen lymph nodes in my stomach. I've been off the metronidazole for about 2 days now and I still feel weird, mainly coughing, white stuff on tongue and spider like veins in my mouth. The discharge may be caused by the flagyl i was given after my uti. My question is, is redish brownish spotting normal?
