Can flagyl be used for an upper respiratory infection?

Was it prescribed by your doctor to treat it?

This generally isn't the preferred medication for such infections, because most of them are viral and self-limiting. However, in some cases, they may be bacterial and could require an antibiotic and/or a steroid, which may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness and diarrhea, as reported by the FDA.
