my mother-in-law accidentally took this pill by mistake. she took 2 this morning and 2 this evening. she thought it was her diebetes medicine ## This is an antibacterial med, so the main adverse effects here are going to be to her blood sugar from not taking the diabetes meds, there won't be much afffect from taking a few extra of these, as long as she doesn't have an allergic reaction to them. In the future, when you are worried about something like this, you should really call a poison control line or her doctor to get an answer faster, there are meds that could be dangerous if taken that way, and if she is having a bad reaction, you don't want to be waiting around for someone online to log on and give you an answer. ## i accidently swallowed one of my husbands flomax? ## ...

hi had tosilular abcess for 3 weeks, admitted to hospital and had calvepen 666 through i.v. Abcess was lanced and i was released home with calvepen tablets, not long after taking second dose(3 daily) i started to feel weak/nausious/headache and symtoms of palpatations. Also with the calvepen i was given flagyl 400. ## HI, Lazy Hazy! How are you feeling now? Calvepen contains a form of Penicillin, which is an antibiotic and it can cause side effects, such as feeling nauseous, weak and the headache, those are completely normal. With the palpitations, it's a bit hard to say, but there's a greater chance that they have been caused by the infection and your body trying to fight it. However, that is something you should report to your doctor and have checked out, especially if they invo...

Are there any side effects,if I drink alcohol, whilst on medication of fexime, doxytet n' bio metronidazole ## Hi mudah, Based on my research, there are drug interactions between alcohol and Metronidazole. The interaction states that you should not drink alcohol while you are taking this medication and for at least 3 days after you stop taking it. If you do, you may end up having unpleasant side effects such as fast heartbeats, warmth or redness under your skin, tingly feeling, nausea, and vomiting. I haven't come across any specific details on how the other two medications respond to alcohol, but I would strongly recommend asking your doctor about it first, for your own safety. Eye drops for Pink Eye ## My daughter was prescribed sulfacetamide 10% for her pink eye. She had no eye discharge before she began to use it. She has only been on the meds for one day. Now her eye has a yelow discharge that if left to long will not allow her eye to open. Is this an allergic reaction or has her pink eye turned bacterial? Or should I just be patient and run the course of Antibiotics and then go back if needed. ## In regards to the post from mother of 5, it may have been due to her daughter being sensitive to sulfa, since this a sulfa based medication. i need to take flagyl but only have quadriderm nf cream. will this work or are they not used for the same infections? ## i dont know ask your gyno? ## No, they are two very different medications. Quadriderm NF contains Betamethasone, Clotrimazole and Gentamicin, while Flagyl just contains Metronidazole, so they are used differently to treat different things. Learn more Flagyl details here. If you need Flagyl, then that is what you should take as substituting with the other may not be safe, especially since it contains a steroid. Are there any other questions?

Began taking metronidazale again about a week ago. My husband and I had intercourse exactly a week ago n didnt use protection n im not on bith control. Im worried i might get pregnant again. Im not trying to get pregnant n wasnt able to the plan b on time. Would this medication prevent me from getting pregnant?? ## No, Metronidazole will not protect you from pregnancy, I'm sorry. If you don't want to get pregnant, then I'd suggest you get a reliable method of birth control and use it regularly. I don't want to be rude, but you're married, so it's really only reasonable to assume that intercourse is going to happen fairly regularly. Thus, you need to be prepared. Condoms, spermicide and Plan B can all be purchased ahead of time, so you have them on hand and ready ...

I am a 23year gal.I had slept with my boyfriend them later I started feeling iching on my vagina.they gave me fixime 400mg,bio-metronidazole 200 and doxytet.and my boyfriend said his not feel any changing on himself, isn't neccesary for him to go for treatment? ## It looks like they've loaded you up with three different antibiotics for this itching you're having. Do you know if they confirmed that it was in-fact an infection and not some other sort of allergic reaction to lube, latex, or something else? In my opinion, if your boyfriend hasn't noticed any problems, I'd still consider having him checked out (diagnosed) for your own safety. Especially if you plan on sleeping together again. The itching had to have come from someone or something you or him may have used. ...

I am a 21 year old female and I had a bartholin abscess.. I was prescribed a Fixime 400, Bio-metronidazole 400, Ibuprofen 400 and a Doxytet.. My problem is that I seem to be having a side effect of an itching vaginal opening.. I would like to know if this would go away after I'm done with the whole pill course or should I get medical attention right away? ## I had the same thing happen to me. Only on my penis, as well as a uncomforatable feeling in my urethra. I noticed it accouple days after taking the medications. Its been about 5 months now and I still have the feeling but it comes and goes in waves. ## Lebo, the antibiotics can cause a yeast infection in women, so there's a very good chance that is what is causing the itching. Round, white and it has a line in the middle ## Hi Mandisa, I did some research on Metronidazole to see if it has been linked to miscarriages and according to wise geek.com, studies involving animals do not provide evidence of any harm coming to the mother or fetus. They have, however, found that this drug can cause a miscarriage when injected straight into the abdomen of pregnant animals. Even though I believe an animal study can't really provide an effective answer as to how a medication will effect humans, the studies have obviously shown that there is a possibility of miscarriage. Also, when I googled Metronidazole linked to Miscarriage, I did see a few sites/forums where women mentioned that they took this medication and had a miscarriage. I'm being cautious. is this a good combination? ## Hi riley, It's always good to be overly cautious when it comes down to combining certain medications. The reason I'm asking is because those are some of the symptoms of dehydration and that can easily occur with these types of medications since they often cause diarrhea as a side effect.
