i have white and orange/gold Risperdal tabs and got mixed up on dosages of each. can you help? ## The dosage depends on the description of the pill, a white oblong with R 1 on one side and JANSSEN on the other is 1 mg of Risperdal. An orangish gold with RIS 0.25 JANSSEN markings has 0.25 mg. If these are your pills, then I hope that helps. However, if these are not, please describe your pills so I can assist you better. ## Yes, and there are also a number of other generic forms of this medication from various manufacturers. a friend of mine is addicted to resperdol, i am very concerned and want to know more about this drug? ## Risperdal contains the active ingredient Risperidone. This is NOT a narcotic, but rather a very potent antipsychotic medication and it's abuse can be very dangerous.

My l4 year old has cerebral palsy and is on Baclofin. I would like to know if Risperdal is compatible with this medication? ## When taking Baclofen together with Risperdal, be sure to look out for respiratory depression. Together these meds might might increase each other's effect in that respect. As such, you should also monitor how coordination and alertness are affected. Do not administer the Risperdal with tea or cola. And above all, be sure that you and the prescribing physician are always on the same page! Report anything unusual to them, and please take what I'm saying as a general guideline. There is no substitute for professional medical attention! I hope this helps...

doctor just put my son who is 3 on this drug...i'm not sure what to think..if i should even give him his first pill or not....they put him on .25 twice a day ## a dr put your 3 yr old on risperdal? that is for mental problems.. how would they know at that age if a child has a mental problem of any kind? i wouldn't give this to my child, i would get a second opioion from another dr. ## Risperdol has helped my daughter for many years. She is now 9 but I knew at age 2 1/2 that something wasn't quite right since I have two oldre children. Be cautious and informed, there are good doctors out there but you are the one that sees your child the most. Do your own research not just through these websites. janssen is the name printed on the orange oblong tablet and R2 on the other side. I need to know what this pill is used to treat. This is a very high dose, as it is a very strong med. If you have never taken it before and take this 2mg pill, you will be sleeping for about 2 days, maybe more.

This is an antischizophrenia drug, it also used for some people with mental illness that have trouble sleeping due to anxiety and racing thoughts, because it slows your mind down so you can relax and sleep. 1mg of this is, believe it or not, a very strong dosage, most people only need 0.25mgs for an effective dose. If you are not used to taking this, and are not schizophrenic, you will sleep for 18 to 24 hours straight through. If you suffer insomnia and take just a small peace of this pill, you will sleep for a good 6 to 8 hours.
