Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 12) (Top voted first)

Updated

I have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:

*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.

I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.

Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.

Re: Tbone (# 190) Expand Referenced Message

How are they compared to 54s?? I'm very curious! I prefer the 54s & hated all the others & in being told the new rp b8s are just like the 54s.

Re: Tina (# 193) Expand Referenced Message

Thanks tina, yes screenshots would be great...but you know the real deal, follow the rules.. lol but yes I do know exactly what they look like, they came out right after brand name subutex,...then followed teva...I took them for many years...I was just thinking that when I go to 'btodrems' all the time to be nosey, why list something that's not available? I didn't think it was available anymore anyways just because I took it for a long time and then boom it was gone followed by another..so like I said they only ones I have never taken or seen is Mylan, sun..maybe because I obviously must not shop where they are sold. Now sun is still in my area somewhat because as i was call all pharmacies looking for hikma or Rhodes 3 shopping center Pharmacy's said they had them...I didn't need my refill so I didn't get to see them. And I still wouldn't have got them only as a very last resort..its funny now that I found Rhodes I find myself thinking about hikma?? Which is better humm??... see one finally gets what they are looking for and as soon as you get it your thinking humm. Again...I'm speaking of myself of course..I am very tolerant on pills, and only looking for the strongest medicines to do their job..could be an old habbit addiction?... it's crazy that when Mylan called me, I didn't answer they left a message. So I called them back the next day..I actually made a call to only hikma/westward. Because when I picked up my script and brought it home it was at the time for 90 pills..but damn the wear cracked up way more it was hard to make a count. I did separate them on the counter and made a count of them..they seemed all there..so see now after I put the call out in the meantime Mylan called me asking me how she could be helpful? I told her I dont think you could this has nothing to do with you company or medicine..but she took note of it all..in the meantime I asked about them because I knew of a girl looking despite for them. She gave me info and sent a huge pamphlet. It was huge tho, they couldn't even squeeze it into my mail box....also I'm thinking it's a shame the way we have to actually hunt and seek out or medication...mostly one prefers the other or so..but truthfully they should be easy availability. I'm always stressing out when refill time come. Are they going to have some, or a partial? Some pharmacies will only refill one day before..Walgreens for me if its 3 days early usually no problem..but see I cant take the orange actavis... the one day on the phone they said the head honcho would be soon I could ask. But I didn't I know how chain pharmacies work...oh gosh, I got off course..I just wish they still had brand name buprenorphine..why take something away that worked well with everyone?

I'm curious? Do any of you know any pharmacies in Rhode island or Massachusetts that carry the Rhode Purdue brand??? I used to use brand name then that was gone... Then used teva for years then they were gone... Now I've been using Roxanne since 2014 and I hate the other brands but now I've noticed that since Roxanne changed to Roxanne west Ward hikima but only the last 2 months now some changed . They changed the ingredients or something for sure. I'm have some weird stomach problems now. I really want to try these Rhodes Purdue buperenorphine pills and hopefully I can get get back to having a good medication that will allowe to just feel good again! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Just got some today. Didn't even realize they were different than my usual Roxanne's then I looked and was like crap these are a different brand. So far so good. Very similar to Roxanne. May even like these better. I actually feel a little euphoric. I know that's never the goal with any bupe but still. I'll take it. I think you made a good decision.

Re: Charlene (# 196) Expand Referenced Message

Me too Charlene. I think the name brand is Teva. I didn’t this Himkamia brand your talking about, is also called WestWard. It doesn’t work to kill my pain. Mylan and Actavis brand os Buprenorphine are the only ones that work for me, even though I don’t like the taste the Actavis brand. I don’t know why what the difference is on how all these different brands of Buprenorphine work in each person. WestWard and Hi-Tech do not work for my pain at all. I have a few left of them for previous months, I take them at night because I don’t have to walking during those times. I have a Syndrome that causes me to have severe pain daily. It’s all over my body. It’s a connective tissue disorder and I have no collagen left in between my bones. I walk bone to bone all the time. It’s like when your brakes go out on a car and the pads have nothing left but the medal. Then the medal rubs up against the rotar and weld together. That’s what my body does. Then it causes bones spurs and they float around in my body. The bones spurs can attach to a major artery at any time and I can bleed to death internally. It’s called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) type1, the Hypermobitity type. I’m super sensitive to touch. When people hug me, it hurts my body. I didn’t use to be this bad, until I had hysterectomy. The estrogen in a females body helps to keep them young and stops the body from breaking down as fast. It goes the same way for men, but their is testosterone. It’s goes through the natural aging process. My body hasn’t, since I got the hysterectomy. It smacked my body into memo pause right after the hysterectomy. That’s why the EDS is so horrible now, than if I was in my 80’s or 90’s. I also have severe lower lumbar stenosis, scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis and severe fibromyalgia. Which all of them combined make my body hurt all the time. I’m also low on spinal fluid and my neurosurgeon think that caused from when I broke my back, because I walked around with it broken for 2 months. The pain center I was going to, kept saying, it was a pinched nerve. Come to find out it wasn’t. I hate taking pain medication and other pills to stop all of my pain and nerve damage. What else am I going to do, to have at part of a normal life? If I go off of the pain medication, I will not be able to function. I saw a specialist in California, in December of 2017. He had physical thearpy come in to work with me and having no pain medication in my system. I got up using a walker and about fell flat on my face using walker, because of the pain being so severe. The crippling in body is to far progressed. He said, I’ll never be able to go off of pain medication to at least have any quality of life. I trusted him, by saying that, because I was going to try the medical marijuana. He said, I wouldn’t benefit from it, because he’s had other patients with simular situations like and they went that route. They ended up coming back to the doctor and getting back on this pain medication. Before I went to California I was bedridden. Now I’m able to get up and do things for myself. I’m even driving again and I hadn’t driven prior going out there for 3 years. What I don’t get is, I only take 8mgs in the AM of Buprenorphine and 8mgs in the PM of Buprenorphine and it is working for my pain. Before I went to California, I was on 240 mgs of opiate pain medication and it hardly was killing my pain. This medication hasn’t had to be increased at all since, I’ve been on it, either. What I don’t understand that. If pain center knew about this medication, why didn’t they put me on this one? Otherwise my body wouldn’t have gotten so weak and I wouldn’t be in the situation I’m in a position where, I have to work everyday to get stronger and stronger. I’ve rattled on long enough, I’m just happy there’s was another alternative for me besides taking all those opiate pain medications. I know Buprenorphine is a opiate to, but it’s antagonist against the opiate effects. That’s why it’s used for opiate addiction. That’s not why I’m on though.,

Guys, teva is still available. Just google GoodRx buprenorphine. Someone here was right, it is pretty much impossible to get in the states but it is still made by teva with the crooked b 799. Teva does not distribute it in the states except rare occasion of a dire need or special ordered from out of the states. Not to worry though, the rhodes generic is by far the best. It is two times more effective than roxanne, westward and hicks formulations for me. I tested it many times and rhodes ingredients are identical to the teva generic except like one ingredient. Best option in states imo is rhodes as it is certainly two times more effective for me than roxanne, himka or westward made ones. I have yet to try actavis but seem to hear it helps with pain more but I'm a chronic pain patient and rhodes works just great. Teva still makes the b 799 but almost impossible to get in states and really no need as rhodes is 99 percent identical pretty much. And teva is not brand name. Brand name is made formally by reckitt benkiser who sold their pharma department to indiviour who now owns and makes both brand suboxone and subutex. Brand name subutex is no longer available in the states either but is outside the states. Brand name subutex is made by indiviour now but not legal in states. Brand name suboxone is though. I will stick with my rhodes made by purdue. Thank you for all feedback guys, love it.

Yes, Roxanne has been gone ALONG time ago. Was westward now hikma. Alot of changes made in the inactive ingredients. A bit more chalky and gritty

Well damn, darn ,great, sounds like alot of fun..I take my buprenorphine seriously. It's the most important medication in my life, thank god for that at least it's not like a heart pill I rely on for health to live a better life..I need my darn heart rate to live..lol. but ya.. thank goodness I somehow bumped into this group not only for info I might have missed but the new friendship of friends I have met in this particular group..everyone has been so nice with support we all need..also I learned that I am not the only one who gets treated like I'm doing something wrong at a pharmacy trying to get my bup filled or asking for a brand I want..by joining I see now ITS NOT JUST ME. seriously I thought it was. So yes, yes you should do a podcast if anything to get the message out to others because if it helps just one more person out their, you've done your job well..thx again

Re: goozer (# 214) Expand Referenced Message

I hope you much luck and success on your journey..I believe if someone does not speak about the genetic situations no one will. We have a huge problem here with generics. Even if you want brand name its like pulling strings to get..seems like it should be the other way around. I have tried to get my youngest sister to understand why I sometimes don't like generics and I even tried to tell her what my health M.D. told me about generics.so every once in awhile I bring it up to her without pushing my facts about them, everyone has a right to believe what they want so I'm not pushy,.. just never been a pushy person..all of a sudden one day she begins telling me how her oxycontin she used to take stopped working,.. as well anyway....and she tells me she remembers how something was changed. That's when it accured.. to her .ahh she says generics, that's why all my brand names work better....it took a while but she finally got it..the only other thing we continue to somewhat argue the issues are her methadone VS my subutex?. Good thing in away we has a telephone line between us not driving distance..she will go, on and on,.. how great her medication is compared to mine.. some of the things she says blow me away. But then again we are half polish half Scottish, and she is full polish!. Lol..she is new to methadone use only a year, other sister is 9 years..anyway the one I argue with will not budge in nothing her way or the highway...she will absolutely go to her grave raving it..I have always be somewhat afraid of it because of the horror stories about w/ds, same is subs but I read much worse. I had to hearn the lingo to understand what she talk of..she takes a dose of 115 x day, and still says it's not enough and refuses take homes. Till correct. I believe she is still trying to chase the oxy high as before which she will never get......who knows it could very well be me, with the problem, I read methadone users get that...
I cant spell it....that slight rush high...but then does not last,... maybe...yes I am jealous,... I want that to...but we usually text alot daily not directly talk she will just about squeeze it in a text atleast daily...does she know I'm jealous? Humm feedback please ?? thx goozer

You will be very, very happy once you find you Rhodes product. I have taken every bup generic out there and these are very smooth tasting..hopefully your allergies don't have a problem with this brand because I have only heard good success stories about this..I found out most big chain Pharmacy's dont have em yet, I'm sure they will soon as I had my mom n pop pharmacy order them for me, on top of it the owner of the shop called me personally and thanked me because they are most affordable. Well I have insurance so it doesn't matter what they are all the same price for me but costing the pharmacy little money also and at 4 pills a day, look how much pharmacies are making

Re: Charlene (# 226) Expand Referenced Message

I completely agree. no one talks about them or provides enough feedback these days and older generations are just used to brand name and if have luxury of affording them, but yes every generic on every medication i do my research and make sure i order the best I can get possible for me. I could assist in helping her find the best available oxycontin generic if needed. Mylan brand bup is available very easily and readily from where i am at on the west coast. You can always have your pharmacist do what they call like a bi order or something where you pay them a fee to a pharmacy that has the generic needed and if out of state you just pay the pharmacy ordering the specific generic for the shipping cost and any difference so they still make money. If needed i could assist and if you really wanted the mylan generic i could refer you to a pharmacy that has mylan and you could do that process but not all pharmacists are willing to do this and you also have to ask and always ask your pharmacist on all meds what the cost is without insurance because a lot of times medications are cheaper without insurance and a pharmacist cannot tell you this unless you ask for the price without insurance. Just food for thought.

Also when it comes to the methadone I suffer from enclosing spondylitis and many other ailments so I am in chronic constant pain always and have thought about making the switch to methadone but i am unsure of the process of getting them prescribed other than a methadone clinic. Maybe the family doctors prescribe the methadone pills and i have heard the horror stories as well and never tried it but wonder with my pain if it would be a better choice then the bup but the bup has a ceiling effect after 32mg or 4 8mg pills a day where your receptors cut off and the bup just peaks and stops working after 4 8mg tablets within 24 hours or 32mg. With methadone there is no ceiling effect so people can constantly take more and more and keep getting relief or sedation it provides without the ceiling effect and that makes it dangerous because people will just keep using more and more as there is no cut off so to say. That is lucky you have feedback from your sisters and sorry to hear about the arguing. I grew up with 6 woman and was the only boy, so i certainly can relate. I have truly wondered tho if methadone would be better for my pain than bup and if so how to obtain tablets without using clinics; most likely family doctor, not sure though. And yes generics have to be talked about. Today they are all very bad compared to what medication used to be so it makes it hard. if you ever want my opinion on which generic is best on any medication feel free to just ask. This is what I'm hoping to achieve with my podcast and thank you for the wishes of luck.

Re: Charlene (# 225) Expand Referenced Message

and it is completely not you i feel like most if not all bup and opioid users get this attitude and treated this way by all pharmacist they act like they are doing and giving you their everything and seem to be upset and if not upset awkward about the fills and going in every time is a panic attack because of this lol and this is all peoples except for the rich who can afford all brand name and even then they get judged too but pharmacy happy to take the money and that just is anxiety and not how anyone should be treated by a dr or pharmacy or their techs who barely know anything about the drugs they dispense lol its a messed up and rigged industry more so than any other industry i believe. your not alone every month i feel this except with one pharmacy whom i have buiit a relationship with for over a decade and even then you know they still all give you that look like they are better than you or you are less than them even while they are taking all the drugs in their workplace lol hypocrites and judgemental ones nothing worse than this trait in a person.

Re: Charlene (# 225) Expand Referenced Message

and do not feel this way only with bup you should ask for best generic ordered for every medicene in your regime and have them order the best generic for all your meds not just bup i ask for the best of what works for me to be ordered for all my medictions and i make sure it happens i have never once dealt with taking a generic i dont like except with antibiotcs which dont vary as much as all other drugs

Re: Charlene (# 224) Expand Referenced Message

yes and everyone should care how much mg is in their bup and not just bup but anything they put in their body and should expect the best efficiency of them very very vital if nit most important thing when comes to generic medications which all very very much then can go as low or as high as i think like 17 to 20% and if your a company wanting to make money you most likely will be putting in the least amount to save and make your company money ya know. this is wy big chains and even some mom and pops carry and order the cheapest generics most are like placebo now. i read an article pertainting to the opioid crisis and they did a study where they gave half group real pain meds and the other half sugar pills without them knowing and supposedly the sugar pill group they claimed had a bit more of pain relief and stated effeciency which is ridiculous to stay a placebo sugar pill will get rid of your pain moreso than an actual pain pill. i dont know all detail but check it out if you can find it it is just such ridiculous propoganda

Re: goozer (# 235) Expand Referenced Message

it is just more cost effective for them to have that room to go under the potency of a drug by that much and its just really messed up these buisnesses lie walgreen etc take all your money but dont give a crap if you are taking their cheapest almost sugar pill medications to their customers who make their business what it is. so always expect a generic to have the lesser end of the main ingedient more so than them actually putting in 17% to 20% more and sure some batches may have more but think as the head of that pharma company you would want to put the least amount in to save money and they do nott care about the people. i have had many friends and family and even strangers who re or have bee pharmacist or worked in big pharma industry and even spent years going to and paying for the school just to quit because they say they mentally cannot do it as the industry is so morally wrong so even have good people who have put their lives into working in the industry just to uit once they realized how immorallly wrong it is and has become. its crazy ive seen so many people quit big pharma for the immoral reason of pretty much slowly hurting someones body or doing nothing and paying for nothing lol
