I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

DM - thank you very much for your kindness sharing and related to I may be lacking of mag. As per the symthoms that I am having now your advice should be right. This evening the tightness of my muscle inside comes again so I immediately took the liquid iconic mag. Hoping this will help my muscle cramp. Didn't Your mother experienced this cramp before and where did you know the liquid iconic magnesium. Is this very good for muscle cramps? I hope I can survive tonight? I think most of the doctor didn't know When taking the calcium we should take the mag also.

I am in the middle of 3rd month. My muscle cramps are getting more serious. I was diagnosised stomach reflux in which I don't think I really have the real heartburn. May be the discomforted was caused my the Prolia. I went to have an ultra sound for my heart this morning due to tightness chest.

DM - any idea or suggestions on how to pick up the right calcium and mag and vitamin D in order to avoid the terrible muscle cramp? Ddrop vitamin D3 is better than the Vitamin D3 tablet? Calcium and mag - should it be 1:1, or 2:1? Due to the powerful of Prolia, should it be better to the tablet than the liquid? Liquid is absorbed faster than the Prolia depleting the mag. More? Right? Sorry, I hope tou understand what I am asking. The doctor would tell you so much about my side effects.

Canadian. About vit D and calcium, they sre both worthless (and can cause discomforts) without magnesium. If you sre taking like my mom, 500mg calcium and 2000 ui vitd, you could start to supplement thit mag and it should make it better with time since vit d and calcium bothe get dissolved or do their thing when there is mag. I strongly suggest the book! I even made mymon take the RBC mag test. We will have the results on monday and we will know for sure how defficient she is and monitor her improvements. So far she tiok epsom salts and it eases her cndition! We have to wait a little more but her tingling hand stiopoed tingling. Now she bought the liquid mag and lotion. Keep us posted! You eill all get better!

Is it possible that you are 61 and would have had some of these effects regardless? You seem to be the one playing "doctor" to all these women. Everyone seems to be turning to you for advice and you are giving it. What I would like to know is what are your credentials to be giving so much advice to Everyone?

Canadian, remeber mag is also good for acid reflux! All your symptoms come explained in the book Magnesium Miracle! Aim for 600mg of mag (they recommend). Remag iconic mag is suggested as well as mag oil (which could sting a little at first) but bithe get fully absorbed, it is harder to absorb mag from pills. Also antiacids tend to burn of mag.

RM~you posed an interesting question as to when does Prolia leave. Science says never. Everything living on planet Earth is carbon based as we are the only planet that has all the four necessary ingredients. In month 1, 1/6th of the Prolia leaves, in month two another 1/6 of what is remaining leaves ad nausea. That means there will always be a molecule or two of Prolia left as there is never an end to a half life. Now Amgen states that in the beginning of month 6 Prolia goes 'poof' but it does not mean at all that the side effects go with it. That is why they add on 5 more months as that should pretty well get one injection from bothering us too much. Since we are humans, we are not all the same. Some people skate through Prolia and some others die according to Amgen's clinical trial. What really and truly saved me was taking Tizanidine in my sleeping meds. It's a muscle relaxant that people with MS or MD take. That combined with large amounts of calcium with Vitamin D and magnesium when I got a muscle problem was the magic bullet that kept those problems away from me. I don't know if a regular Doc would Rx sufficient Tiz to help. I got mine from a Psychiatrist as it has a lovely side effect of SLEEP! That was also combined with benzos and a high dose of anti-depressants even though I have not been diagnosed with any depression. They all just add to the wonderful word 'sleep' and zero muscle problems. I hope this helps answer your questions. I could only hope that the same would help your Mother. I did start getting better in month 5 as Amgen said I would. At the 6th month mark I started in on my very needed surgeries one of which was caused by Prolia -- the cataract. The hip replacement is healing wonderfully so my world is looking good again. I just know I will never take any more Prolia no matter what. I had a broken back and a hip broken in 4 places that were so much less than what Prolia gave me. 6 weeks in bed vs 6 months of being horribly ill. I lost 65 pounds with Prolia and am desperately trying to gain more weight, just skin and bones. I hope they let this one in w/o deleting it as it could help people here. Be well~Pood

I didn't know prolia was in "Pill" form. Maybe that's where the misunderstanding is. My error then. I had a "shot"

Hi Canadian! Im glad you are finding natural options to treat your side effects! Ive learned much about magnesium. I am astonished. I bought my mom the ionic Re Mag suggested in the the mag Miracle bk. She takes foot baths with epsom since her numbness and burning sensation is on her feet mainly. Yesterday I got her the mag oil, this way we can know how many mg we are giving her dince each 8 sprays are 100mg from ancient mineral magnesium. Burning dissappeared after she put the oil! She was amazed. She msde a vitamin B12 blood test and it came low so now she is supolementing on that tol. Im just waiting for her rbc mag test to prove she is defficient in mag and I am sure that the calcium and vitD without mag is causing her all this mess. Test for your vitamin levels! B, mag, thiroid, they all play a role and Maybe prolia creates vitamin and mineral imbalances and thats why it makes people sick! Keep me posted! Best regards!
Ps: mag hels as an anti depressant, insomia and anxiety

RM (I got your name right this time , sorry for that mistake, I am at miserable stage these day due to Prolia) - I did tried the Ionic liquid magnesium with other brand name in Canada. Look like ok for relaxing the abordon muscle for a bit. Now, each day my symthoms got cure and then another come out. I am feeling dizziness and very weak, servere back pain, lying in the bed to write this posting. Did you mother eat the remag ionic liquid mag., how does she feels? Ant help? I find one store has the Mag oil, may be I will go with my husband to get one tomorrow- provided I still be alive tomorrow.
Poodle - I am a Chinese (Cantonese speaking) immigranted to Canada, living in Toronto. English is my second language and my level is not good at all. I know I always used wrong tenses and the sentence construction was wrong at most of the time. Luckily, you all can understand me and helping me a lot. Thanks again. Thumb up for you and other victims here willing to help me and give us some hopes. But, when the old and new side effects happened again , I really feel I gonna to die and give up.

Canadian - the side effects you are now reporting are very, very common with Prolia. You need a good pain medication, nothing like aspirin, tylenol, etc. I would ask the Dr, to write a Rx for Oxycodone 10 mg, take one every 6 hours, quantity 120. That will last you one month. Then you will have to ask for it again about a week before your current one runs out. In the US now, most people are referred to 'Pain Specialists'. I do not have to go to one. I am still on it for my hip and upcoming knee replacement too. Why do I recommend straight Oxycodone? It contains no tylenol to give us problems with our liver. They also make a similar one that does have the tylenol in it. We have enough problems without starting to make our livers bad. We only have one liver and need to keep it well. That will stop what you are writing about now. A simple fix. I have no idea how this is handled in Canada but I do have a very close friend that lives in Calgary that I could ask. Your Dr. seems to know that you are suffering so s/he just may do it for you upon the asking and if s/he is wondering who told you this, reply a Dr. in the US. It's not like we are going to be on it for a long, long time. You should be able to quit in part of month 5 and most definitely by month 6 I hope. I am so sorry that this poison is so very difficult for you. I really and truly believe when you get your calcium, vitamin D and magnesium in perfection for you that will help a lot but not with the severe back pains caused by Prolia. You may want an answer from Janey too as she had it really, really bad. Even more congratulations on your English as you had to learn a whole new alphabet too. You do very, very well! English is a difficult language to learn. Please let me know how this goes Monday when you call your Doctor. It's best to take it sitting up with some milk or yogurt as a buffer. Generally, the one in the middle of the night won't bother you. You'll be sound asleep before you know it. If you start to feel it in your groin or thigh, get to the ER immediately as Prolia easily makes the thigh bone snap. To quote Amgen: "Some people who take Prolia, develop severe bone, joint, muscle pain." Maybe until Monday, take some tylenol or ibuprofen to just help a tiny little bit. Be well~

Canadian~I just looked and it seems as if Canada has legal cannabis. That would be preferable to any man made medication and you control how much of it you need. You decide how many 'puffs' you need in how many hours to control the pain. This is an option we do not have in all 50 States yet. Go for it!!! They have changed it from what it used to be and removed all hallucinatory, etc. other problems there were with it so it is now just a pain drug now that removes pain. Be well~Pood

Poodle, My side effects were tingling in my arms and legs, Which I still have but now I know they were most differently not caused by the Prolia shot but actually caused by my smoking for years and would have happened regardless had I received the shot or not. Everything happens for a reason. I didn't go for my second shot because I started reading the neg. Side effects everyone was having on this site and I just assumed mine were from it also and got scared so never went for the second shot. I don't know if I would have been a success story or not. Reading everyone's "cons" told me NOT to have the second shot. So you see, I cannot contribute to help anyone I can only sit back and read and absorb What everyone is saying. Do "I" think one Prolia shot is enough to cause sever side effects? It didn't with me and I didn't have a second shot nor give Prolia a chance because of this site. Bottom line, that was my fault, but I believed and still do to a point everything I am reading here.

Good luck canadian! Remeber the accurate test for mag defficiency is the RBC test (aim 6-6.5), not serum magnesium test! Good luck!! Hope you feel better!

My belated Christmas and New Year wishes for everyone here is to get rid of the Prolia side effects ASAP and no more side effects developed.
DM - the blood test results show ok for everything as per the doctor said. My stomach muscle still cramp specially after I took the cal+mag+vitaminD. I bought the calcium citrate 250 + mag 250
(1:1)+ vita D 200IU + extra 1000 Iu took 2 times yesterday. The cramp still there I am very worry why I have the cramp so seriously. I bought the Epsom Salt and would try the foot bath, hope this could relax my muscle at the back and stomach. I had an sudden eye pain in my right eye 2 days ago, and the pain is gone today. What the pain was for? Another side effects has been developed? I hope NOT. I hope to let everyone here a good news from me, but it looks like I still have a long, uncertainty and difficulty road for me to go. Are we provided too much or enough supplements for the poison Prolia to live and developing serious side effects in our body. Anyone think about that before. The side effects are very difficult to deal with. If I don't take enough vitamins the day, especially in the pm I feel anxiety and miserable. Why I have that feeling.
Daisy in the other thread posting here unfortunately has developed bone rumor in her eyes and the vision has been decreased.

Poodle: I am sorry you had to endure so many side effects. With that being said, because of your experience you have helped many on this site.

Just a comment on the ten year study. Type in "New data show consistent safety profile up to ten years". It is dated 10/12/15. The article reports on the "safety" of Prolia over a 10yr. period.

I didn't have time to read the article. Amgen told me originally, Prolia was tested on 7,800 people. Half were given Prolia the other half non active ingredients in Prolia. If I remember correctly this study was done for three yrs. Maybe they continued the test on the same people up to 10 yrs? I don't think we (general public) are part of the 10 yr. study.

As for sending mice/rats into space, I know that weightlessness does increase bone loss. Maybe that is why they send them into orbit?

I also want to encourage patients with adverse effects to contact the FDA.

Wishing all a HEALTHY New Year!
