Prolia Side Effects (Page 69) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
Re: Lizzie (# 2906)
My doctor said the same thing.
I still have eczema and asthma-related COPD (chronic bronchitis). There may be others but at the moment I can't think of anything else.
I would be wonderful if in 2020 the side effect go away and never come back.
Hope everyone else is getting better and stronger.
Hugs to all,
Nikki
Re: joss (# 2933)
Thanks for the info about Folic acid. From what I have read, B12 can also help.
Be well
Re: Nikki (# 2932)
Well I am from Canada and have been in contact with a lawyer. Unfortunately they cannot do anything with my case as the adverse events I have experienced were noted in the adverse events by the pharma company. They did give me advice on what I could do so I am going to proceed down that path with another lawyer. If you are from Canada and have adverse events since you started taking Prolia that are not on the pharma company listing ( monologue) then you may have something to work for. Mackenzie Lake law firm win a class action for Fosomax. That is all for now. Yes my adverse effects are getting not as potent but still occurring. More doe my wrists pain, feet, joints, face, ears, excessive heat to head and excessive flushing.
Re: Dawn (# 2936)
Best to you. I hope to are successful. Here in the U. S. we have little recourse.
Ps I still suffer from the same flushing, joint issues, etc. These are evidence of inflammation in the body.
You are one of the fortunate ones to have no side effects. I thought I was having no side effects either after my first injection, but had done no research on this horrible drug. After 7 shots, I finally started researching, I was in a state of shock, as was my body. I was and am still suffering from the many side effects of Prolia. I am currently struggling with back, muscle, joint pain. Hair loss, vertigo, that caused falls. I was a very healthy person before taking the injections. Wish I had never taken the first shot. I it now being used for Cancer patients, a form of Chemo therapy. As I stated it has been a nightmare for me, currently taking PT for my muscle and back pain that started after taking this deadly drug. I hope this helps other to not suffer as I have from Prolia. It should be taken off the market.
Re: Gloria (# 2946)
I also suffered from Vertigo.
Re: Ginger (# 2941)
Same thing happened to me. The new doctor that I had gone to for a Thyroid condition made an appointment at the hospital for me to have Reclast injected without even talking to me. I said, NO WAY and never went back to that doctor. Damn crazy! Karen
Re: Sal (# 2958)
Thank you so much! Sometimes, it's hard to tell if its the Prolia or the fibromyalgia.
I hope to start my 20-minute Zumba Express soon. My asthma seems a bit more stable so I'm a bit more confident at starting it again.
Once I finish the edits on my novella and publish it in February, then it will be easier to get into a routine. I have two raw food cookbooks by Jennifer Cornbleet and a couple of vegetarian and a new vegan cookbook or two.
All of these will be incorporated into my plant-based diet. I'll be making notes on what foods affect me as well as the diary.

Re: Nikki (# 2966)
Thank you, Nikki. Your sentiments are very much appreciated. My mission is to support everyone experiencing this horror.
My first shot was in 2016, and only now am I able to do some activity, so there is hope. The main point of Save Our Bones is a diet that is primarily Alkaline, at least 80%. Eat primarily a plant bases diet, perhaps drink alkaline water and do bone strengthening exercises. If there is a way to connect offline, I am happy to so, if not, we can connect online. I wish you good health.
Re: Nikki (# 2968)
I love Zoodles ! While on Prolia my thyroid went crazy, the remedy was going Gluten free. Unfortunately every time my thyroid went down, my cholesterol went up ! I am still paying the price.
Anyway, that is when I discovered Zoodles ! I can’t eat raw, but eat mostly vegetarian
I just received a notice today about plant based form of calcium. Since it is endorsed by T Colin Campbell ( a nutritional scientist and proponent of a plant based diet, I will try it. Called Osteo Bone Builder, You can Google it. Best
Re: Sal (# 2977)
“Breathing problems” are listed in the middle group of side effects. Not uncommon or rare. Thanks for reading my note and agreeing it’s a problem.
Re: Dawn (# 2980)
Yes, I spent hours in the hospital trying to figure out the cause of this sudden onset of dyspnea. And rapid irregular heartbeat. Frustrating when tests say heart and lungs fine
Re: Betsy (# 2981)
Did you have your thyroid checked? The first reaction I had after the one and only prolia injection in 2017, was a thyroid storm that nearly killed me.... my heart was beating as fast as if I had been running a marathon all day long... I developed hyperthyroidism which later n became Graves disease that nearly killed me and caused A severe visual impairment. Please have the thyroid checked (blood tests and ultrasound). All the best to you ????
Re: Verwon (# 1)
Have been diagnosed with calcification of posterior longitudinal ligament and bone spurs through entire spine NOT there prior to Prolia - appears it can build bone in the wrong places - anyone else have this?
Re: Lizzie (# 2990)
That is terrible! I am do sorry. This drug is poison, and nothing is being done about it.
Re: Gloria (# 2994)
I agree. As to how long it takes for side effects from this drug to go away....it’s been 31/2 years since my 3rd and last injection and I’m still waiting! The front tooth I lost has finally been replaced with a very pricey implant but I still suffer from mouth sores which I’ve finally realized I’ll have the rest of my life. I’ve spent so much money seeing an oral specialist and tried so many treatments to no avail. I’ve stopped seeing the specialist . Spending too much and getting no relief.
Re: Darcy (# 3000)
Sorry but I was unsuccessful. The Better Bones Blog by Susan Brown is part of the Women’s Health Network. Perhaps you can find it that way, or by Dr Susan Brown
Re: Sal (# 3002)
Thank you, Sal, for trying to find that Prolia report on the Better Bones Blog by Dr. Susan Brown who should share this info freely in my opinion. Since its SO varied, only open sharing of all Prolia effects will help us persevere in our recoveries. ??
