Prolia Side Effects (Page 112) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
Pood: Did not find any clues. I did find a previous post of yours, under the title:
What does Prolia people say about side effects. You mentioned the same people I found, on post #11 dated 3/14/16. Did you contact them? Are they legit?
I'm in Raleigh NC. I have my part D with Silver Script as I'm on Medicare. I had to have an "exception" but they approved it & now I pay $17.00 a month for a 75 mg. dose twice a day. It's much better for me.
Good Luck,
Marti
Kitty, hi! Thanks for answering! Were you diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy? Can you describe how this condition started and made it till the point of burning? Did you do anything? Did it get better after something you did? Your case sounds familiar with my mom's. Her doctor is trying to find out what prolia could have done to cause neuropathy. She has a lot of prickling and that inner burning. Also the numbness and strange sensation on the palm of her feet when she walks. We have noticed that it looks like a circulation (micro circulatory) issue since she feels a little better when she is exercising or with her feet up. I want to find more people related to prolia and neuropathy so we can figure out what can be done! Hope you can write back!
I appear to have a kind of neuropathy like your mom. I have been saying that my hands and feet are weak and dint work. I drop things. In the middle of night or at waking up my feet are cramped and arched and tingling numb with pins. I can't walk at first. They feel swollen or puffy and tungly during the day. I'm going to ask about the Perepherial neuropathy at my upcoming appointment. Until now I have only called them week, cramped and painful.
Sheri~it's Rx and most MDs will not do it because they think it is worthless because it works slowly without harming us. Thankfully, I have more than one Dr. and have one that thinks it's GREAT. The regular Docs are pushing Prolia, Recast and Boniva. Even my previous Dr. who is now deceased didn't believe in it until I proved to him how much it changed my Mother's bones. She got it from an Orthopedic Dr. When you run into a brick wall, keep searching. There will be someone that believes in it because the pharmacy's refrigerator has a lot of it in it so I'm not the only person nor is the other lady. There are a lot of us. On the other subject matter: First three words of a post with first letter in caps. Hugs~Pood
Anyone here call Amgen and ask to speak to their legal dept? They must have some law firm representing them in side effect cases.
Hi! The big question is: what did prolia did or what ot does that causes peripheral neuropathy? If we find out why, then we can treat! My doctor says there is no doubt it was the prolia dor my moms case, but we are still trying to figure out what it did to her so he can help her with neuropathy.
I was not diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy. It sure sounds like I did have the same symptoms. I wish I can tell you to do XYZ and the pain will go away. Every one is different with side effects. Along with the burning, numbness, feeling cold in my hands etc. I had at least another 20 side effects. My side effects started off at two weeks and continued even after six months. No pain medication helped advil to viacdon. My doctor prescribed Physical therapy and cold packs. Had muscle spasms through out my body to even now 3yrs. later still occur. Did your doctors call AMGEN at 1-800 772-6436 ? I hope this helps. Wishing you the best. Keep us updated.
I read on a web site that Merck had an ONJ department to deal with people who got ONJ from fasomax.
RM: You or your Mom's doctors need to call Amgen 1-800 772-6436 ask to speak with a pharmacist or doctor who had knowledge of Prolia's side effects and Peripheral Neuropathy. Tell them your experience, explain to them your mothers side effects. Maybe they can research and let you know what triggers the Neuropathy. Suggestions: Muscle spasms, inflammation, swollen muscles, just guessing here. I hope this helps.
I have had this injection 2weeks ago and I am having pain in my upper arms, shoulders , neck and back of my head , am also having sleep problems, I do not think I will get another injection.
Hi all. Still no solution found or relief for my mom's neuropathy case. Doctors are impressed with her being so healthy that they cant find what possibly got wrong. We are seeking hard for what the cause is, we know prolia did something to her, but what? Her foot capillaries seem to pump too much blood to her feet making them feel like they burn. We noticed this since her feet turn dark sometimes when burning is too intense. She has a lot of prickling in her feet too. It seems people with osteoporosis and taking osteoporosis drugs like prolia have developed such symptoms. If anybody out there knows anythig, suspects or could help please let me know. I just cant see my mom suffering so much for the pain and doctors say that she has to live with it. 1.5 years since she took the prolia shot. Our lives changed...need to find hope. We keep fighting.
I am suffering horrible side effects from Prolia and I called Amgen to ask them how long this drug stays in your body. They we NO help and all the girl would give me was percentages of people with side effects. She was listing the many side effects and I stopped her to tell her she wasn't answering my question. Just unbelievable.
I ended up with chronic pancreatitis!!! I was advised to stop treatment!!! It happened on my 3rd injection!!
Judi, I have called Amgen 6 times since I had the one & only prolia injection on 11 Aug. 15. The 1st time I called a general # & got the same statistics you did. You can reach a pharmacist @ 1-800-772 6436 then hit 1 & then 6 to reach them. The pharmacist will send it to the proper department. It has been almost 14 months & I still have side effects from this devil's drug. On 30 Sept, 2016 I wrote a letter to Michael Severino - Chief Medical Officer - Senior V.P. Global Development - Amgen & sent it registered mail that requires a signature when received & a return confirmation to myself. I wanted him to know what prolia has done to me & thousands of others like me. If you or anyone out there wants his address, just ask. I hope you are doing better as well as everyone out there that are suffering from prolia side effects. Have a good one!
Kitty~The muscle spasms are definitely from Prolia. Prolia wants more and more calcium so it goes into our muscles to get what it wants and it hurts. That is the only place we humans can store any calcium in our bodies. The only way to counter this is to take 500mg Magnesium every night when you go to bed. It helps enormously. I Promise!! I still take it a year after Prolia was up and when they go down into ankles and feet I take a pure salt tablet for 5-7 days and that's the end of that. Just recently had total testing for surgery. My Primary was astounded at my blood/electrolites commenting: People just don't have this magnificent blood at your age. I'm 71. I just smiled. I did list it as something I use but since it's not a medication he seemed to pay no attention to it at all but sure loved the results. So do I because I don't like pain. Be well~Pood
Pood, Why do you take salt tablets for your feet, wouldn't salt make it worse?
Poodle, Amen to the muscle spasms - Unbearable!
Just a tidbit of info from: Drugs & Devises. Amgen has made 112,732 payments to over 36,000 Drs. & paid 5.34 Million Dollars for injections of prolia to innocent patients! Shame on Amgen,Shame on the FDA, & Shame on the Drs. for causing such pain.
(It's as if the docs need the money)
Wise decision, this stiff is poison. After a year I figured out my problems were caused by Proliea
Sheri~it depends on the cause. I don't like salt very well so seldom put it on my food. When Prolia showed up with foot and ankle cramps I said something to my brother about it and he gave me some of his salt tablets. Worked like a magic charm. I took one a day for 7 days. Later on it started in again and I only had 1 salt tablet left so I took it and a couple of handfuls of just salt for two nights - tasted horrid but got rid of the cramping immediately. I can only say to try it and see if it helps you as much as it did me. Prolia does very strange things to our bodies and most of all our immune systems. Pood
