Prolia Side Effects (Page 113) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
Anne: Where can I find the "Drugs and Devices" web site? Is it part of the FDA web site?
Hi Pood! You are an inspiration and guide to us all in here! You seem to understand Prolia much better than those who should! I would love to write to you or talk to you. I want to help my mom find what prolia did to her so she can recover from burning pain in her feet and prickling tingling pins and needles feeling on her feet. I just cant sleep or feel the same knowing she is in pain thanks to this drug. Let me know!
Jan, I can answer that one for you. Prolia is made from something alive or was alive on this Earth which means it is carbon based. Everything that is carbon based has half lives and half lives never end. They go into infinity. Amgen says the half life of Prolia is 16 days I think so that in 16 days 1/2 of it is reduced in your body and in another 16 days another 1/2 of that half on to infinity. There will always be a tiny, tiny amount of Prolia in our bodies. We really don't want to be talking to Amgen. Go straight to the FDA. Supposedly Amgen is required by law to report all adverse effects to the FDA. Do I trust them? NO! We have to keep the pressure on the FDA to get this recalled. Hugs, Pood
Kitty, Drugs & Devices is on the FDA site. To get additional info on prolia from the FDA,

I have had 3 shots of prolia and a month after my last shot I have developed a scaly itchy rash on my leg, arms and chest as well as my scalp. I also have enlarged taste buds on my tongue and sore spots on the roof of my mouth. This causes painful eating. Certain foods cause stinging . I have also lost my sense of taste. The scalp problem started about a month after the 2nd shot. My question is, will this go away if I stop prolia and how long will it take. I'm also not even sure if it is prolia that caused this. However it's the only "new" drug I've been on for the last 2 years.
Judy~Please go to your Dr. for Pred. for the skin rash and to your dentist for your mouth problems. Prolia has caused people to have fungal infections in their mouth. This could be what you have but you have to have it checked out. Prolia also causes cancer so please just don't sit around and wait for them to get better because they will not. They will continue to get worse until you receive the proper treatment to help with the negative reactions to Prolia. Be well~Pood
RM~there is also a lady immunologist in Billings, Montana. That is what we all really need as Prolia messes up our bodies so badly. Hopefully, you can find one closer to you. Pood
I have been to both my GP and dentist. My GP gave me meds for a fungus infection to see if it helped...it didn't. My dentist has no idea. I saw my obgyn dr today who had prescribed it. She has told me to stop and now has to decide, once I have my bone density what the next step may be. The blood test for cancer was negative. In the meantime my GP has referred me to both a ENT doctor as well as a dermatologist who she wants to have them do a biopsy. Of course, I suppose there's no sure way of knowing if, in fact, this is caused by prolia! I am fortunate to be living in a large Canadian city with top- notch medical facilities. Stress , I know, can cause very strange things. I have been dealing for 4 years now with a husband who has had 2 strokes, an ablation and now a hernia which they can't decide on whether to operate due to the fact that he's on blood thinners. Of course listening to the American political news right now is not a calming factor either!!!
HRC is not responsible for prolia. That is really a crazy statement. The wiki leaks are being manufactured by Russians hacking into the system so most of what has been leaked probably has 0 truth to it.
POOD! Funny your mention of "practice" in a recent post! I have a family member who's in charge of the doctor's office where my dad was prescribed his deadly shot of Prolia. I had mentioned that I didn't think the doctor knew what he was doing, her reply was "Well, that's why our office is called Family Practice, because they are "practicing"! You think I wasn't mad? And that is truly the name of the office! No, I don't talk to her any more than necessary after that.
Skittle~not unless Russia moved to New Zealand. It's all over the net now about her and BIG PHARMA. Hugs~Pood
Interesting! I too lost my sense of taste. Had never linked it with Prolia!!!! Hmmmm. Thank you. At least now I don't think n I'm losing my.mind. going on two years since injection and still having residual issues. P. Is scary stuff. And it didn't even help bones as I had hypercalcemia caused by a parathyroid tumor iin turn causing bone loss. Prolia was the wrong thing to do to me. It could have never helped with the bone loss.
Kitty~I only had one that told me the truth and it was too late as I already had the injection. He said: "Be very careful now as your immune system is compromised." At that point I just replied that I always use alcohol on my hands and anti-bacterial soap. Uhhhh! What about the AIR Pood?????? About a week later the side effects started in.
AMGEN Corp. has spent $7,581,000 lobbying Congress and the Podesta group got their share. Now we know for sure WHY Prolia is on the market and passed by the FDA. That number to Amgen is pennies.
Calling RM~I may have found out what is wrong with your mother. It is called CIPD which is an INFLAMMATION of peripheral nerves due to ABNORMAL IMMUNE RESPONSE. We are 100% sure that Prolia messes severely with the immune system so this could well be the cause. Again, you would need an Immunologist to give her the correct medications to get her immune system correct again. Check it out please. Pood.
I had my 3rd shot of prolia and due for my next one soon. I have an itchy rash on my neck and upper chest. Has anyone experienced this from the drug? I have been trying to figure out what is causing it. This is the only thing left to blame.
Heather, I have had something similar. Peeling itchy palms, crusty itchy skin on my legs, forearms and chest. I can't say it's a rash but it looks more like eczema . I finally phoned the Amgen helpline today and actually spoke to one of their medical people who verified that eczema type rashes are one of the side effects. I, too, developed this along withpainful sores in my mouth after my 3rd injection. I saw my doctor last week who prescribed prolia and she certainly didn't discount my suspicions. Needless to say, I refuse to have any more injections. I would suggest you contact your doctor and as well, the Amgen helpline. As I am Canadian I'm not sure what number it would be in the US if that's where you are. Good luck!
Here are the phone numbers in the United States:
Amgen: 1-800-772-6436
Another Amgen #: 1-877-477-6542
FDA: 1-888-463-6332
Hi pood. Thanks! How did you find thia out and how can we relate it to prolia? CIPD? Is there anyone out there who also got it? Do you know how it is treated?
You are inspiring me to look for an immunologist. After PT surgery I find much better health, except skin, and intermittent pain, could be nerves and vertebrae breaks having a hard time healing. But I'm pulling weeds, cleaning house to a point, much more active. Still having trouble sleeping, but situation at home not good Had baseline DEXA, do not have results yet. Blood calcium 10 which is better than last result I could find of 11.5. Taking Pro Bono with minerals, k, etc and one multi a day that has 1000 iu of calcium. Called Tampa, they said all good. Seeing pain doctor Thurs. although pain improved much. Primary isn't bugging me about taking more Prolia anymore. :) oh, and am able to walk, despite knees. Went to a department store Saturday. Shopped a bit. Probably 3 time in 4 years. Have bad aching In jaw....dentist said abcess but round of antibiotics no help. Of course after this going into 3 year ordeal of one Prolia injection I am on alert for necrosis. Will keep eye on it. But PT surgery made huge difference for me. The more research I do the more I'm finding I see Prolia and other similar high powered drugs can cause PT tumors. They work through altering PTH hormones. All tied in a package.
