Prolia Side Effects (Page 104) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
Thank you for your response. I am on blood pressure medication, and a RX water pill so i was disappointed to see it rise...
Pood, I hope this helps the lawsuit!
Does anyone make bone broth to help support bone? I just started reading up on it and would like to know how to make it.
Bone broth is very easy to make. You buy the bones that are sliced and you can actually see all the marrow in those bones (about 1 inch thick). Put them in boiling water with the veggies you want to use to flavor it like onions, celery, etc. Soon the bones will have no more marrow in them so dip them out and and put in whatever you want in the broth. You may have to ask the butcher at the grocery store to cut them up for you as I'm not noticing them like I used to. It's the same as making any beef soup except you are using bones instead of pieces of meat.
What type of lawsuit is mentioned in the posts? I am frustrated with getting sicker ... I am spending nuts money on more doctors and medications to deal with all the Prolia side effects. I substitute teach and can't take jobs because I am too sick. Mornings are so bad... Pain, nausea, cramps, cough acid reflux, gas, constipated or diareah....not to mention that i catch every illness I encounter- cold, pink eye, UTI, and I itch everywhere- from head to toe....
Jan~I just posted it. Should be showing up really soon.
I know you are Jan. I know exactly what you are going through but I will tell you there is an end to this horrid suffering we are in. If you are lucky, in the 5th month you become pretty much yourself again and then by 11 months you are completely and totally well or should be. It seems to me that your Docs are not giving you what you need. You have to have the tiny little blood test for the immunoglobulins as that will tell them which are low instead of getting a bag of blood you could possibly get a bag of plasma - depends on immunoglobulins. You need a first rate pain medication, not some over the counter junk, you need to take 500 mg magnesium every night to stop the muscle cramps - that's Prolia trying to get more calcium so it attacks the muscles. You also need your Calcium/Vitamin D supplements. When the Docs can get things taken care of for you, you will feel better. We know you have anemia but they have to look a little farther into that as in do you really just need some blood or do you really need plasma? It will lessen over time. If you wanted to make beef marrow soup, I posted it. If you want to make it from chicken, take a cooked chicken and remove all the meat and again boil the bones and you will get the marrow from the chicken bones. Some people also do this with a turkey after Thanksgiving - throw all the bones in the pot and make a soup. With the beef bones, you will need to buy about 2 pounds to make the soup. Be well~
Thank you- you are a treasure trove of information. Thank you. I will be making the broth soon. I'm on a road trip from Chicago to Sacramento with my daughter.
yes that was it.. I found it at the other link I posted from askapatient. Not at the FDA site, did you find there? Can you post a link? I want to show that to my doctor if I see him again. My baby boy kitty passed away thursday and I'm grieving and in shock... not much energy for even myself these days. I'm just trying to make it through the semester.
Apology accepted Rick. I know you are suffering too and I'm so sorry for that.. I hope your sister will start to recover a bit soon. I have type 1 diabetes so I know how horrible failure of the pancreas is. Maybe her pancreas/beta cells will recover along with the rest of her body.
I've had itching, joint & muscle pains & hair loss. I had a minor bout with the flu (yes, I had the shot) & a cold for the first time in years, so believe my immune system was compromised. I believe this is an extremely dangerous drug & will never take it again.
I had my 4 th Prolia injection last week. So far I've never had a reaction from them. I'm 81 next month and in March 14th. Had a total knee replacement. No pain with rpthat either. My bones seem strong enough. The reason I take Prolia is because in 2014 I had breast cancer and take Arimidex which is to destroy ones bones. So far so good with me. I pray those who have trouble with Prolia can tolerate it or find something else that works for them.
granny~I am happy that you are able to tolerate Prolia well and that it is helping you. Unfortunately, for the remainder of us we live in severe pain and cling to life by a thread. FDA reports around 5,000 women have died from Prolia in it's short time out. Do hope and pray the cancer is gone and if it were not from the chemo drugs it will be from Prolia as it is a chemo drug. That has to be the scariest word I ever heard when the nurse called up and said you have cancer. I beat that and I beat Prolia but not all here are so lucky. Good for you. Wish we had more people that wrote in and said it worked well with no problem. You are a lucky person in deed! Pood
Skittie~that's where I got it from too but they say it is from the FDA through 2015. I have a very difficult time believing so few people complained about muscle cramps as that is one of the major issues on this site. In my kennel of confusion~
Marri- for muscle pains you need to take 500mg Magnesium every night. That will stop that part. As for the joint pains, your Dr. has to put you on a real pain medication or refer you to a pain specialist where you will get it. The only thing that stops the itching and the array of skin problems is Prednisone and I mean pill, not an OTC cream. You are very correct in stating your immune system is not working well. It's probably only half there and many autoimmune diseases come from this as all the infections, some of which are very dangerous. Get after your Dr. Gather up every side effect you have or have had and report it to the FDA. Take the list of side effects to your Dr. and put it in front of his/her nose and say I have … and have them circled on the side effect list. Undoubtedly you will get some that are not on the list. The FDA has been very busy changing warning labels on Prolia but it seems our Doctors are unable to read or don't care. Keep us informed. We will help you the best we can. We are all Prolia survivors in different stages from the injection. Be well~Pood
I have good cancer markers. But don't know if cancer will return or not but I'm able to tolerate the Arimidex and Prolia. I don't care to take either as Arimidex is also a chemo drug - I need to take it everyday for 5 years. At my age 5 years seems like a long time. I pray that your pain will go away and everyone else's pain cause from this medication. I know people get very sick from medicines.
Granny V, I'm glad you haven't reacted but keep in mind several people here did not have a reaction in till after several shops of pro Leah – the problem is no one knows what is going to happen with each individual person. And even when you have a severe reaction as you can see from what people have written here your doctor is going to say it's not from Prolia 9 Times out of 10 and deny everything! If you die they will say something else caused it not pro Leah…
Jan, you can search for their phone number on the net and complaints can be given on the phone or in an email which I believe is through medswatch. Please don't quote me on this but that is to my best recollection. It's also in the back pages on this site if you feel like spending a few hours looking so if mine fails, it's back in there somewhere. Hugs~
Jan, I was close - here is how to contact the FDA for adverse events from a medication:
FDA MedWatch or call 800-332-1088
Sorry, I had an extra s in there.
Skitty~it was from askapatient as they had copied it from the FDA. Pood
