Prolia & Hair Loss (Page 17) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI've just recently had my second Prolia shot. So far so good...a little back pain. I continually have stress fractures on my feet and have also taken fosamax. My current problem is hair loss & I wondered if anyone else was having that problem?
Thanks Poo! You are right about having nothing to lose. Just more hair in our case. I am willing to try just about anything at this point. Best off luck!!!
I placed my order. Most of the women said the Saw Palmetto made their hair stop falling out and made it shinier and healthier. We may be on to something here. I will keep everyone posted on how it goes after Prolia. Pood
I am ready to try it. The hair loss has been the worst part for me. Keep us posted. Thanks again!
I just had my first injection 3 weeks ago and already losing hair. There are no other changes in my diet or routine. I am quite concerned & disappointed if I am losing this much so soon. I will be investigating alternatives.
Funny, but I was thinking the very same thing.
They don't list hair loss as a side effect. I am going to look for another option. Prolia is not for me.
I thought about hair extensions, but it's expensive. I thjnk we just have to make the best of it and hope it grows back. I just won't take Prolia again.
Can you tell me the proportions or dosage of each ingredient? Im going to try this. Thx!
I had to go to an infusion center at the hospital. A bit disconcerting. I've had 3 shots and each time I have lost a ton of hair. I wont take this shot ever again. I wish there was a legal suit about this. I would be first in line.
Read the labels! They say how much to take and with what. Pood
I am very surprised that this hasn't happened yet. I am not getting any more shots and when I told the nurse why, she just wanted to stop the conversation.
Poodel, did you follow this conversation? This is about a twice yearly shot and not a medication taken by mouth.
Me too! I have stopped all treatments and my hair is still falling out.
what is the combination for saw palmetto, B vitamins and A? Do you mind sharing that?
I understand that. My doctor is not very happy with me however it is my body and I do have a say as to medications and supplements. :(
Lois and Karen, you really do have to do what you think is best. I really am not getting good reports on Prolia, but maybe those who feel good taking it don't come online about it.
Karen~I obviously know what Prolia is and how it is given since I had one inj. that almost killed me. Any more questions?
Linda I think I read it doesn't totally leave your body. That makes sense, because after about 3 years you don't take it anymore. It's adding density to bones, so something remains with you. My hair is still barely growing, and it's been nearly 2.5 years since I had the second (and last) injection. I do think my immune system has recovered. I did not know Prolia had some chemo components, which definitely would explain weakness in the immune system.
I was on reclast but my doctor decided to change it with the side effects I was having. Had my first prolia injection in June and since then I have experienced hair loss. At first I thought it was just the time of the year for shedding but then I realized that it was coming out more and more. I woke up one morning to find a large amount of hair on my pillow. I haven't changed any medications except for the prolia so I am claiming that it may have caused the hair loss which continues.
Will call Amgen and check the side effects of prolia and how long it remains in your system.
It's simple. Buy a bottle or two of Saw Palmetto for women. Buy a bottle or two of all B vitamins and a bottle or two of Vitamin A. Follow directions on the bottles as to how to take these. I don't know if what you buy is what I have so please follow directions on the bottles. Mine say to take B's and A with a meal. I have no idea what strength, brand, etc. you have purchased. I only know mine and I'm sure it will not go through on this site as it could be construed as advertising. Stop saying Prolia is for chemo. It is not. It's twin, Xgiva is. I happen to believe Prolia contains more of the 'active ingredient' in it due to the hair loss and other problems we ladies have been experiencing.
