My husband has been in the emergency room twice for an allergic reaction that caused his face and eyes to swell within the past week, so he is on prednisone, and steroid cream. He threw up this morning from side effects, and now his face and eyes are reddish purple. What can he do for this? ## Hello, Angela! How is your husband doing? I was prescribed prednisone for a bad allergic reaction. My rash cleared, and It immediately had the side benefit of clearing up existing acne inflammation within one day. It was pretty incredible, as I've been struggling with mild/moderate acne for ages. However, reading Prednisone reviews, I'm getting very concerned that once I stop the prednisone (I'm tapering down), my acne will flare up worse than before. I was wondering if there is anyone who has the positive side affect of clearing up acne, without it returning. I am actually only looking to hear those stories with positive acne outcome - I have read dozens and dozens account of people that didnt stay clear - so to ease my fear and help me stay positive, please share if your inflammation didn't return as bad as befor

I have taken the 48 pac of prednisone before and it was a graduated dosage by the cards they were on - the prescription I received today was in a bottle and did not have any instructions on how to take them like the ones in the pac. I took 40mg of prednisone for 5days without tampering after being on ER due to a feeling of pass out I had. Hi, I am 25 and I have been on prednisone since I was 15 for an adrenal deficiency I have. I was taking a 5mg dose daily for 10 years and typically I should be on them for life but I have recently decided that the side effects outweigh the benefits and have come off them about 9 weeks ago. The first week I did experience a horrible fever for a couple of days and could barely move. Now my symptoms (which I believe are due to the Prednisone withdrawals) consist of itchy rashes on my hands and feet, and also aches a pains everywhere! I order online prednisolone and usually get Omnicortil sent to me 5mg. However this time they sent me Comneslone-5. It states that this contains prednisolone 5mg. Have been given a 4 tablets daily for 5 days for server bug bites. Should I take them as stated or reduce after 2 days so it would be 3 on 3rd day 2 on 4th day then 1 for the remainder of the pills. I am having a cold and my doctors subscription Pulmison 20 is this ok and what does it do Thank you very much ## Pulmison contains the active ingredient Prednisone, which is a steroid class medication that treats allergic reactions, inflammation and immune disorders. My husband died in our living room and I called 911. He was revived after they broke 3 ribs and had a major surgery and was hospitalized for weeks. When I panic I get short of breath. After Bill (husband) was taken to the hospital I had a panic attack and couldn't breathe. I called 911 and ended up in the hospital myself. At no time did anyone ask me about my history, what happened or anything. They just began giving me Prednisone. I had no idea what it was and took it. The take-down dose when I left the hospital was 20 mg three times a day for a certain period, then 10 mgs for another period and now I am down to 5 mgs per day and have been taking it for over a year. This medication doesn't become dangerous, once expired, but it does lose efficacy over time, so they will not work as well as they did, when new. It would be best to dispose of them. Accidentally, took 40 mg. of prednisone. How do I taper off the drug now? ## Hi Judy, If you overdosed on your medication and are concerned about the possible ramifications of having done so, I would encourage you to call the American Association of Poison Control at: 1 (800) 222-1222. Better safe than sorry, right? As far as a tapering plan goes, this is really something you and your doctor should work closely on developing in order to ensure that the instructions are tailored to your medical history and other pertinent/personal information. There is no one size fits all when it comes to starting or stopping any medication. I just hope you're feeling alright by now.

I have a bad tooth dentist can't see me for aweek and woke up this morning face swollen and hurts only thing I have in the house is Prednisone .will that help ## Hello, Kurtis! How are you? I got my ears pierced 3 months ago with medical grade plastic system due to metal allergies then my left ear began to get irritated, bleed, pus and lost of pain & very dark on back side of ear. I got antibiotics but then my entire ear began to burn, itch and pain to touch & I couldn't touch or move my earlobe without it seeming to activate this weird filling of fullness inside my ear canal. My entire ear and lope was extremely swollen & two doc's confirmed major swelling on the inside of my ear. I used antibiotic ear drops but not much help. My dosage is 4x5mg daily for 5 days then 3 for 3 days then 2 daily for 3 days then 1 tablet daily for 3 days then stop My question is ! Have gout....Doctor wants me to take Colchicine 0.6 mg 2 times a day plus finish out a pack of Prednisone 10 mg with 6 pills left ## Hello, Joanne! How are you? Hello all......I have Ocular Toxoplasmosis that requires rather high Prednisone treatments. The last time I took it - 2013 - I had high blood pressure - 180/100. This is a scary side effect and I am very afraid that now that I have a recurrence of the Toxo and have had to start Pred again that the BP will shoot up.
