Pleural Mesothelioma Treatment Information

For several years now I have had occasional chest pain, making it hard to breathe when walking. What are the treatments, life expectancy and other pertinent details that can help me overcome pleural mesothelioma?

Hi nick, very sorry to hear about your diagnosis. May I ask whether you had exposure to asbestos in the past?

While I can't give many specifics without a confidential medical history in hand, I am sad to say that the outlook for Pleural Mesothelioma is generally not great. Are you in an early or late stage? Your doctors may recommend a combination of surgery / radiation / chemo, depending on how far it has progressed. The 5 year survival rate is between 5 to 10 percent. [1]

These are just statistics. There are always exceptions. There may also be alternative treatments. If you feel that your work or any unavoidable factors contributed to asbestos exposure which could have led to this, then I'd also consider seeking compensation so that your family would be taken care of.
