Is my Qualitest 5012 V Phenobarbital tablets 30 mg or 32.4 mg? My pharmacy label on the bottle says 30 mg but all the online info says the 5012 V is 32.4 mg. ## It might have just been a typo on the pharmacy's end, because they are 32.4mg tablets. Is that the dosage you are supposed to be on? Learn more Phenobarbital details here. ## We are supposed to be on 15 mg 3 times daily but they said the 15 mg tabs were being discontinued so they changed the script to 1.5 tabs of the 30 mg. When I signed the pinpad it said 32.4 mg so I had a convo with the pharmacist who told me they really were 30 mg tabs which translated to 32.4 grains. I Googled it and called the manufacturer and was surprised that wasn't true. My next question is...does a variation of 5 or so mgs daily matter when on...

What is the name of this pill and what is it used for? It has 252 on top and 0401 on the bottom. ## From what I've found, this is an older tablet that's listed as containing 30mgs of Phenobarbital, which is most commonly used as an anticonvulsant. Pd 700 is phenobarbital 32 mg ## As a minor correction to your post, this is actually Phenobarbital "30mg", and not 32mg. I think this particular imprint has been discontinued; but it was manufactured by PD pharmaceuticals. For details and information about this drug, please refer to the link below... I have been taking Bellaphenobarb for a couple of years for IBS constipation. It does not make me drowsy but seems to energize me. Compared to Valium and another one, they just leave me knocked out. ## It makes sense that the Valium would do that, because it is a Benzodiazepine, which is essentially a downer, that is why it can calm people that have anxiety and cause drowsiness, so it's also sometimes used to treat severe insomnia. My GI Dr had recently prescribed me Bella-Phenobarb Tab for some gastric issues i was experiencing. I never had the need to use the meds. I am now experiencing horrible cramping from menstruation. Would this medication be helpful? ## Yes, this is mainly used for gastric problems, such as IBS. IT is very doubtful that it will do much to help with the cramping. It basically works as a sedative and relaxant, though I supposed that may help a little. Have you spoken to your doctor about the cramping?

Scored on one side totally unmarked on the other. Maybe a quarter inch across (real small and thin). Bottle said pheno something al dr had awful writing. Only thing I can think of is phenobarbital ## What country is this from? Without any markings, it is impossible to positively identify, it may be Phenobarbital, though it is not commonly used anymore.
