Pharmacist Refusing To Fill My Script Of Suboxone. What Do I Do??? (Page 4) (Top voted first)

Updated

I wet to my doc 7 days early because of running out early. I took my new script to pharmacy and said, this is early so I won't be using insurance. My doc said you can call him if necessary. Well no one wanted to. They filled two per day for three days. On the third day I asked to fill the rest on insurance for the next day. I was one day early. When I called the next morning to have my daily two filled the pharmacy manager said no we won't be filling it for another 5 days. Go to the ER for your withdrawals but don't come here because I won't give it to you. Has this happened to anyone else????

Hi, on and off for 18 years...was actually clean at one point for nearly 8 years, then I ran into an old friend one day and I started up again. Stupidly thought I could just do it one or two days a week, I knew better and soon enough life was crap again. It was all going well for a while then my supplier went away and I found myself with a horrendous habit. I had no idea that Suboxone was as addictive as it is. I actually was clean BEFORE I started taking Suboxone. That's how I got addicted. Stupid, I know. But it was cheap, then I got sick of the chase, the waiting for people, the danger etc and joined the program and haven't looked back. Got my life back, working again, kids all have happy, stable lives. Also noticed another benefit of this medication is that I also stopped having marijuana, never drank anyway but the thought of alcohol makes me cringe, which is good considering I ended up with Hep C from my last round with the needle. It also just gives me a better outlook on life in general. How about you?

I went to my doc 5 day early. i got my script and went to the pharmacy. the tec told me everything was good and to give them 15 minutes to fill, so i sit down and i could see them counting my subs out. so 15 minutes go by and this little girl comes up to me and says we cant fill for 6 days. i said why did the tec tell me it was all good? so all i can say is make sure you don't run out early and if you have been on them as long as i have you should try and wing your self down. I've been on them over two years. let me say withdraws from subs are a b****.

So Walgreens has to be the worst pharmacy!!! Filled with the worst people!! And yes that God complex seems to run rampant no matter which Walgreens I use as cvs doesn't carry the suboxone strips, I'm kinda stuck with these i****s!!!! I've been going to them for years though :( I don't have insurance and since each strip is close to 10$ each I get partial refills. Everyone up there fills them the day I run out. Called them today. Sandy the god behind the counter said I couldn't get them until tomorrow. I kindly told her they needed to get their s*** together....... There have been soooooo many problems with them over the years!!! Sandy said she was refusing to fill them at all!!!! So my questions are 1) what the hell is the law on suboxone refills?? Can I pick them up the day I run out or do I have to go pick my script up the morning I'm out for my morning dose?? 2) now that it's a partial refill remaining 23 out of 60. Where do I get these filled now that God won't fill them?? What does that look like? What do I need to do? Called Wallgreens corporate office. No help!!!!! Just took a complaint.

I asked the same thing...it's the first and last thing my chemist says to me as he hands over my monthly supply "keep these out of reach of the kids", he knows I have two young kids. Could you imagine a child taking something like this? The colour alone would be an attraction....I don't believe her story anyway, that her kid "threw them away"...sounds a bit sus to me....I treat this stuff the same as any poison, keep them up high in a cupboard where no child could ever reach.

Jamie why do you keep your medication where your 18 month old can get it?

I don't think anyone believed her story....why would an 18 month old pick them up and THROW THEM IN THE BIN???? They would play with them or something, the fact that the baby "threw them out" just added another layer of BS to her story. Obviously still living the junkie life, telling lies and hoping people will believe them!! So dangerous, paracetamol can kill a child so why would you take the chance??

Why would you keep them in a spot where your 18 month old can reach them? I have a 3 yr old and they are somewhere where it is not possible she will ever get to them. You can say they can't open them but accidents happen. What if they found a way to rip it open and injested them? Your child could die and it would be 100% your fault. Sleep well knowing that.

I have to agree...your husband is playing a dangerous game as if and when he is found out for getting two scripts off two different doctors, BOTH of them will more than likely cut him off. Better to have one doctor prescribing you what you need, than none at all. I would suggest he does the smart thing and plays by the system. Many have tried to beat it, none have succeeded (for very long) that I have heard of. Best of luck to him and you.

Even if the dosage is increased they will not fill it early, they go by the date Dr. puts on the script where it says can fill as early as then the date. Most time it will be 5 days early from original fill date hope this info will help you.

I'm horrified . The pharmacist should be reported - they don't have legal precedent to put you into withdrawal and tell you to go to ER. Valerian and melatonin may help until you are on a rolling script , dreadful patient care

You did mess things up for urself--finding a trusted pharmacy is more difficult than finding a trusted dr b/c pharms have more ego more bs.
The other person said u shot urself in foot which is true...u cant ponce on pharmacies.."fill fill fill" early ok than no insuance...whatever gotta have it...3 days, boom back again fill the rest!"
Sounds like junky/dealer behavior to a pharm...subs also have a pretty long half-life so u shoulda calmed down a bit & filled under insurance...they must have thought something sketchy wss going on

Just wanted to reply or comment on how the ER Doctors treat Chronic pain pt. very disrespectful as if we are one of the bad apples. Lying to them and we ate drug users when we are forced to go to hospital due to the Pharmacies are not capable to refill our long time prescription. I have heard every excuse in the on why no refill and the when then the Pharmacists working for large chains of stores become very rude and dishonest on excuses why no refill and treat you like a street drug addict too. This is one of the most degrading, disrespectful humiliating, abuse given time over refill prescription. I have been yelled/talked to as if I was a low down dirty street drug abuser asking for free drugs to feel high. I would never dream I would be forced to endure this in this day and time just to get proper meds. It's discrimination. I'm a paying customer with insurance and at last minute being ohh we are out at Pharmacy and didn't know we will get in...Tell me just go to ER...You go there and upset why should you have to, be nice to know before they didn't have your meds but pharmacy refuse to advise you until day before refill. Get to ER and the Doctor talks and treats you same way. Your Doc has gone home no one to call so your sick and hurting really bad while being verbally abused more...How horrible these medical workers are to do this just because they can. Medical staff should not perform that job or have license to perform if they get some satisfaction of abusing sick patients. All the while I never provoke are start the abuse because what good would it do and I don't believe in being disrespectful to anyone. We don't have change who we are just because of these rude and down right out cruel individuals. This issue along with refills for those that really need and depend on these meds for their life.

Now don't get me wrong, I love the way my meds make me feel sometimes, and you wanna know what? I EARNED the right to feel like this! So please, save the bulls h I t "oh you're part of the problem" ect... I have NEVER been part of ANYBODYS problem...just a quick comment from a slightly itchy, slightly elevated individual... HOUSE!

Don't wait around till your out of meds next time. Make SURE your DR. knows whatever dose you'd been taking wasn't holding you. Work it out before the door slams on your thumb!! I'm a Tennessee Bail/Fugitive Recovery Agent...and a Certified Addiction Specialist that privately works in Opioid Addiction...seeing that 75% of the folks I seem to bail out have drug issues/charges. I have to take pain meds due to an auto accident I had and usually once a year I wean myself off for the summer months. If you REALLY want to do it...you can to. And during the winter, I'm on the meanest my Dr. can prescribe, I'm also the only one that comes to him on an as needed basis, but he also knows why too. You've got to keep things in perspective, don't wait till your scripts are out...BE HONEST WITH THE DR...And I do mean your one and only, Pain med Dr. Dr. Shopping will get your ass behind bars with felonies so fast....
