Pharmacies That Carry Buprenorphine Made By Mylan Or Roxanne 54 411 (Page 6)

Updated

I've been taking Buprenorphine 8mg for 3 1/2 years now, all of a sudden every pharmacy in our area (that I know of) has switched the manufacturer they are order from, frustrating to me as I just seem to see a difference all though there shouldn't be. Does anyone know a pharmacy that still carries bup mg with the imprint 54 411?

Re: Bobby (# 99) Expand Referenced Message

So Walmart did indeed have Westward but I can’t transfer my script because it’s a controlled substance so I am waiting on my Dr to ask him to call in a script to Walmart. I hope he can do it. He knows I’m very particular with my meds. Also I’m weaning down and I know where I am in regards to cutting the pill. Is there anyway you can temporarily switch to Walmart if you tell your insurance they are out of your brand? I pay out of pocket since I don’t have insurance but I use an RX coupon and it saves me a lot of $$. Actually on some medications it was cheaper to use the coupon than my insurance (when I had it). Good luck and if you are stuck with Sun let me know how you’re doing.

Really I'm gonna try to call my insurance if Walmart near me has it and see if I can get an exception on my exclusive.

I’m going through the same thing right now! All the pharmacy are on back-order, and all they have is the little round ones that I can’t take. My pharmacist did have a few of the West brand and I don’t have a problem with those. They're making it so hard for people to get and I don’t understand?!

Re: Bobby (# 102) Expand Referenced Message

Yes you should do it ASAP because the pharmacist told me that he tried to order more and said that he was told they are on backorder but that is the generic they carry so I’m assuming that if Walmart the pharmaceuticals biggest buyer doesn’t get it then no one will. What a pain!! But I did get a months worth of Westward today :) Good luck!!!

Re: Callie (# 103) Expand Referenced Message

It’s so ridiculous and should be regulated better since these generics are so different.
Which brand do you use? Westward right now is the best for me.. the little round I believe are Hi Tech, I tried that once it felt less potent and I didn’t like that the pill was so small (especially since I’m trying to cut down my dose it’s hard to cut). I do however prefer those over Actavis , for me that generic is the worse and gives me lots of side effects.
Good luck to you

Re: Ala181 (# 97) Expand Referenced Message

Every and all Walmart’s I have spoken to in Washington state ONLY carry the Westward brand! Westward IS Roxanne brand.... the 54 411 ones. They haven’t been on back order here for months now. But just end of last year was impossible to find them! I had to drive 2 hrs just to get them. Then 2 hrs back home! So 4 hours! But it’s worth it to me. Westward works the best for me and seems most of you prefer it too! So that’s gotta say something right there! Wishing you all luck. I know how frustrating it is! I’ve never heard of an insurance company only allowing someone to go to one Pharmacy before but that sucks! I hope they don’t try and regulate that here in Washington state! I’d be pissed! Lol

I called Westward.. I’m thinking we should all keep calling them so they get the hint that we need this medication.
If you google them just go to their website and the number is there.
Good luck!

That's good but what a drive. I don't blame you I'd make the drive as well.. I'm in Rhode island right on the Massachusetts border so my insurance is blue Cross of Massachusetts and they made me pick a pharmacy a couple years ago to get my controlled substance at. They bust you balls for everything! I literally filled 1 prescription on the way home from my primary care physician s office at a rite aid because it was closer and they called me and said it was suspicious behavior even though I used insurance and it's I mostly had been using CVS but in years past I would go wherever was most convenient. The lady at the insurance company didn't know what's he was talking about it was ridiculous. So if I wanted to get my subs at Walmart I would have to call my insurance pick a Walmart that I want to use and then tell my sub doctor I'm switching pharmacys but around here at least Walmart pharmacy sucks as far as customer service and they make you wait till the exact day to fill sceipts. I've even had them lose scripts on me in the past and there is tons of turn over with employee s so you never get to know the people. So yea I would like to get west ward but it would be a giant pain with all my prescription other than this one. What did west ward say when you can called them? There still gonna produce it right?

I totally get it. They get all weird about controlled substances even if you’re not doing anything suspicious. Since I pay out of pocket I don’t deal with insurance but even with that there are still rules (NJ is strict as well) like not transferring scripts so I needed to get a whole new script to go to Walmart. Westward said they are still producing it but they are low on inventory so they are “allocating” they to certain distributors first but that your pharmacy can still order it. Although who knows when they will get it. I feel like the pharmaceutical companies never give a straight answer. I asked CVS if they could get the Rhodes since I heard they were newly out but it wasn’t on their list. So besides the Westward they only carry the junky generics basically.

There is definitely a difference in the strength from brand to brand. Generics are not always equivalent.

Jane (# 108) --

There should not be a difference that is noticeable. Generics should be very close to the name brand and meet very high standards. Instead they just make them as cheaply as possible. It's ridiculous that we should have to play games and beware of certain brands

Those are good. The only ones that don't make me feel groggy, or anything at all

I hear ya. They are the oldest first generic of Subutex that came out i think (not sure when teva released theirs) and I never though back then that I would be dying to get them one day. There are so many awful generics now and every year a new one pops up that's worse that the one before. I used to try to get the teva brand and if I could not find it I would they the Roxanne (westward) and then the hi tech little ones came out and that was the first one I hated! I just had to avoid those and things were fine. Now it's a joke out there with every generic version of this medication except for the west ward (Roxanne) pretty much being under-dosed or poor quality. I'd pay for a high quality generic or why doesn't RB put out a new cerion of the name brand or sell the rights to a new company to release if they won't. The only reason the stopped producing the brand name was the suboxone strips were coming out and they wanted a reason to say people should switch and that reading was that the pills were not safe so they pulled all pill versions including Subutex. It's a shame this medication isn't prescribed more because that's why pharmaceutical companies don't prioritize it and put little to no effort into it.

U need to get off the suboxone. The longer you take it makes it just as hard to get off as the pills! Wean down and then stop. Go through the withdrawal! It's so worth not being a slave to the drug after kicking it. Try Xanax when u do. It helps a lot. Also, Ambien. Otherwise you won't sleep for months! Not me at least.

Re: Bobby (# 113) Expand Referenced Message

It sounds like we were on the same timeline .. I went from Subutex brand name to Teva (the original) then They gave me Hitech and I complained then I got Roxanne then Actavis(I complained) then Mylan(I complained lol) then Westward when I found out they were Roxanne and now we may be switching gain if they don’t get supply in:( I agree I just don’t get it! I bet people would pay more if the kept the brand name available as an option. I mean it’s a medication that is used also to hep people save their life .. what a shame.

Re: Pete (# 114) Expand Referenced Message

I’m tapering down now part of the reason why I don’t want a change in pills. I’m too afraid of the withdrawals to cold turkey and I suffer from anxiety and depression so I as well take other medication. How long did your WD last? Some people really do need them indefinitely and I think it’s fine at a low dose. I am weaning down because i have other health issues related to my stomach and the Subs make it worse. If I didn’t have that issue I’d stay on them as they are used add label in parts of Europe as an antidepressant and I don’t need pain killers while on them so it kills two birds w one stone. Would you mind telling me if you tapered or CT?

What did west ward tell you? Did they say they were still in production?

Re: Bobby (# 118) Expand Referenced Message

They said they were still making it but their inventory was low so they were allocating the medication to various distributors. My pharmacist said that means they will give priority to their biggest buyers. What it sounds like I’d that there is a middleman with all these big pharmacies.. they have suppliers, and the suppliers buy from the pharmaceutical companies. It’s like the pharmacies are the local drug dealers who buy from the supplier who buys from the Kingpin of who produces it. Odd right... that’s what I was thinking when it was explained. I would suggest you call Westward and just see what they tell you. Keep me posted.

Lots of pharmacies are turning to lousy generics because they are cheaper. Why are they cheaper? They rip us consumer/pain sufferers off by using less active ingredients and more lousy fillers!! If the med is made by Amneal that company is the worst manufacturer of generic medicine!! Their product is garbage!! I had severe reactions to their garbage they call medicine!! This is getting to be a common problem. We suffer because of this!! Something needs to be done for us legitimate medicine users!! The abusers are making it difficult for us to get quality medicine!!
