Perindopril, Gout

I have been taking Quinapril for many years, but cannot get it in Malaysia, so now take Perindopril. I have also suffered from occasional gout for years - but recently attacks have become much more frequent (every couple of weeks). Could this be the Perindopril?

Yes, it certainly may be due to the Perindopril.

Most blood pressure medications can cause excess uric acid levels that result in gout and sometimes you have to play around to find one that works for you, without being a literal pain.

Do you have a doctor there that can help you find a different medication? Because you may be better off staying away from this drug class to avoid the issue.

am a diabetic 59 yrs male. on metformin & gibenclamide for diabetes for 9 yrs and simvastatin for cholesterol for 3 yrs. now have been prescribed with perindopril erbumine (a 4mg tablet/day before breakfast) for kidney impairment. have occasionally been relying on sildenafil nitrate (viagra) in order to discharge my 'responsibility' to my spouse. does viagra interact with the ace tablet as i understand that both are related to blood activity. your prompt feedback is much appreciated.
