Pegylated Interferon

What are the long-term side effects of pegylated interferon? I'm having a lot of symptoms I can't explain.

Very sorry to hear you are not reacting well to your medication.

According to the government website for Hepatitis C tips it gives the following list for side effects.

Can’t Sleep
Depression / mood change
Diarrhea
Dizziness
Dru mouth
Fatigue / weakness
Fever
Flulike / Cold like symptoms
Hair loss
Headache
Low platelets (thrombocytopenia)
Low white cells (neutropenia)
Muscle / joint / back aches
Nausea
Stomach issues
Tiredness
Anemia, hemolytic (low red cells)
Increased heart rate
Itchy / dry skin
Loss of appetite
Mood issues (anxiety, depression, irritability, moodiness)
Shortness of breath
Taste changes
Trouble concentrating

The website also warns that there is a substantially larger list of reported adverse reactions not listed that were identified during post-approval use of PegIntron therapy.

I suggest you consult your doctor as soon as you can about any adverse effects you are experiencing so that together you can make a decision if this medication is the best choice for you.

thanks Kevin. I was more interested in what side effects a long term. my physical health in the last 11 years he has caused me so many problems. It's just too many to count. I was just wondering if anybody else has had these negative side effects since they has taken interferon.
