I've been on 1mg of Requip since the first trimester with no adverse effects on the baby. Now, in my third trimester the RLS has become unbearable and I've had to increase the dosage to 3 mg a day, not all atonce. The medication has started to make me ill to the point where I'm vomiting multiple times a day. And its still not working great. I am terrified that the increased dosage will hurt my baby but without it I literally will get no sleep. I have tried everything including taking iron supplements. Nothing works. This is ruining my life. Does anyone have any insight into whether or not this increased dosage is dangerous? Thanks so much. ## Hello, BethAnn! How are you? Congratulations on the pregnancy. Since you are pregnant, it would really be best to consult your doctor ...

Are there any generic versions of this tablet either er or direct version which contain different coloring ingredients than the original sinmet product? ## @Dr. Perry, From what I could gather, Sinemet (Carbidopa + Levodopa) by Merck Pharma reportedly contains the following inactive ingredients: hydroxypropyl cellulose + pregelatinized starch + crospovidone + microcrystalline cellulose + magnesium stearate. NOTE: FD&C Blue #2 are also present in the 10mg/100mg and 25mg/250mg dosage forms; whereas D&C Yellow #10 Lake is used in the 25mg/100mg dosage form. As far as an alternative goes, I did notice that Sandoz makes a generic Carbidopa + Levodopa (w/ the addition of Entacapone) marketed for treating similar conditions, but does have a different list of inactive ingredients: corn ...

patient said he found an herb or something like that and it helped his parkinson's symptoms. He said it was Trimidon but was not sure of the spelling. ## I'm sorry, but I can't find anything on this, it is very difficult, because this site doesn't know if it was the brand name for something, the herbal ingredient itself, something ayurvedic, or etc. I've looked at several resources and can't find anything listed that's even close to that name. Does anyone else know? ## I have found reference to a drug in homeopathy by the name of Theridion. Is this the drug you are referring? Can you please confirm? How long does trihexyphenidyl chloride work in your system before being excreted from your body? ## Hi Maggie, According to a peer reviewed journal by the US National Library of Medicine, the estimated reported half-life of Trihexyphenidyl is said to be 3.7 hours, give or take 40 minutes; at which point in time half of whatever mg dosage you took will be left working in your body (the other half excreted). So every 3.3 - 4.1 hours, "half of that remaining half" will be eliminated, and so forth until the medication is no longer active in your body. Ref: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/4037749 I hope this helps answer your question!

My mother passed away in May and we have about 15 boxes of Apokyn left. It was so expensive and we are still making payments on it. Does anyone know of way to pass on the left over medicine and possibly recoup some of the money? ## Hi Jennifer, Sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I know it's not always easy to dump something that you originally paid good money for... but due to safety reasons, the FDA actually provides a specific set of guidelines on how to "properly" dispose of any unused portions of Rx medication. On their website they mention that some communities have what's called a "drug take-back program", in which they recommend contacting your local city/county household trash and recycling service to see if there's a safe location you can...

How do you wean off of 2mg requip xl ## Hello, Gala! How are you doing? I'd suggest asking your doctor for assistance, because they can prescribe some that aren't time released, so you can cut them and slowly taper off of the medication. Why are you stopping it? You may experience some withdrawal or rebound effects, such as worsening restless legs, nausea and diarrhea.
