Since she is taking Rytary 36.25 mg/145 mg 4 times a day, she had felt better except for the dyskinesia she had for the past month. However, she started feeling muscle weakness 4 days ago. It looks like she is starting to have dystonia in her left hip and leg. Im not pretty sure if she has that but she shows symptoms of such. She starts to have that symptom after the third dose of Rytary like after 2:30pm. I dont know if she has that because of the med side effects or she is having that because its part of the disease progression. Im honestly concerned about it. Can anyone tell me if dystonia or muscle weakness is one of the Rytary's side effe...
Are there any programs that can offer assistance with my monthly medications? ## Hello, Dale! How are you? Each page of this site offers a printable discount card that you can use to save money on most medications, though the exact amount will vary from drug to drug and according to your location. You can just click the link, put in your email address and print the card. Most pharmacies accept them, so you could even ask at the one you use to see which ones they accept and which one may save you the most money. Does anyone else have any ideas that may help? The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and taste changes.

In this case, I doubt the problem is being caused by any of the medications. Parkinson's is a degenerative condition that can worsen with time and one it can have detrimental effects on the brain and m...
Could the efficacy of the generic carb/entacap tab levo 125mg be different than the brand name Stalevo for treating Parkinson's? It seems that the generic form is not as effective at controlling tremors as Stalevo 125 mg. ## Hi Trisha, Certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. Because everyone is different, your body may agree with one medication over the other, due to how you feel or based on whatever side effects present themselves. When you switch brand names or generics, the drug itself doesn't change, but rather the binders or fillers that they put with it. I hope this helps shed some light on why one may not be as efficient as the other, despite being t...
Nausea starts about 1hr after taking the medication, which is 1 mg and lasts for about an hour, does it ever go away? ## How long have you been taking it? Side effects are usually transient and tend to go away, once your body gets used to a medication, but that may take about 4 to 6 weeks. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include stomach pain, loss of appetite, diarrhea and dry mouth.
I have been taking sinemet 25/100 for parkinsons. I was taking 8 a day with dr. permission. I began taking more without permission to ward off what i call parkinsons attacks. My dr scolded me and told me to try to go back to 8. I feel the need for another doe before time for the scheduled dose if i only take 8 a day. I realize its like withdrawl from drugs. but do you have any suggestions for me to keep feeling ok without the extra pills? ## Hello, Pam! How are you? Sinemet doesn't work that way, actually. You can't just randomly take more some days to ward off symptoms. For it to be effective a consistent dose needs to be taken daily for about 4 to 5 weeks. It also won't cause severe withdrawal symptoms, since it's not a habit forming medication and you're still tak...
Can I take Requip and Xanax at same time for severe RLS ? ## Hello, Austin! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. But, that should be fine, as long as your doctor approves. The FDA warns that Xanax carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. The typical side effects of Requip may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, vomiting and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
Small round & white On one side/ nothing on the other ## Hello, Ted! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Roxane Laboratories and they list it as containing 0.25mgs of Ropinirole. This medication is most commonly used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Is there something in addition to pills that I can do to help me with Parkinsons? I am 79 years old and I am mobile, fairly clear of mind, stiff in my joints, loosing my balance and falling occasionally. I am presently using my cane to stabilize myself. ## As far as natural or alternative options go, I would highly recommend any or all of the following treatments: -supplement with Vitamin B12 (especially in the form of Methylcolbalamin) -supplement with Magnesium -detox the body of heavy metals -low fat diet -more fruits and veggies in the diet -staying hydrated (peeing clear all day) -supplement with Co-enzyme Q10 200mg+ per day -supplement with Vitamin C and E in generous doses. I hope this helps! Raw fruits and leafy greens are the best medicine in my honest opinion. ## Was diagnosed...
I was wandering if this white round no imprint pill is a generic requip ## Hello, Missy! How are you? No, all U.S. prescription tablets are required by law to have an imprint to enable their identification in case of emergency. Thus, any tablet without an imprint can be ruled out as a prescription product. It is most likely just something that's available over the counter. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have a big round white pill that's smooth on both sides with no imprints. Bottle says 350 mg Carisoprodol
Hello. I am new to this site and have been reading some of the posts. Very interesting. I am having a problem, even though I am a nurse. When I was on Pramipexole 0.125 a little round pill. One of the side effects I enjoy or did enjoy was a seriously increased libido. Since going on .5MG I have yet to see an increase in my libido or being in the mood, so to speak. It's a football shaped white pill with PX 2 only on one side. They are scored tablets. Made by Glenmark. (0.5) wondering if I simply became tolerant to the med. or whether this manufacturer puts out garbage. I'm tempted to take 1MG and see what happens. I am becoming more and more frustrated every day because my days seem so boring. I really enjoy the tension and coming alive on this medicine. The NDC # for 0.125 tabs ...
Given to much of the drug. Added an extra pill to his night time pills. Have trouble with seeing things ## Hello, Ben! How are you? How much is he taking? The typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, blurred vision, headache, irritability and insomnia. However, hallucinations have been reported to occur in about 1 to 5% of patients that take it. Has his doctor been informed?
I am taking Ropinerole for periodic limb movement disorder. This is the fourth medication that I have tried. I have tried Mirapex with not much effect, Gabapentin with not much effect, Levodopa with the side effect of dyskinesia but not much effect. I was hoping that medication #4 would finally be the one! I took Ropinerole for about 4 or 5 days, when I noticed that I was swallowing every 10 - 15 seconds because of excessive salivation. This excessive salivation kept me awake all night swallowing. I take other medication that have the side effect of dry mouth, so I was surprised with this opposite effect. My question is, Is the side effect of excessive salivation one that disappears with time, or is this something that I get used to, or is it something that I have to live with? ## Hi et...
I take Mirapex ER 3.75 mg for Parkinson's Disease. I have had hypersexuality since I begin taking Mirapex almost 2 years ago. I would like to know how other PD patients that have experienced hypersexuality are managing this side effect. ## I have been taking Mirapex since 2008. I stopped taking it two weeks ago due to the compulsive behaviors that they caused. If you read the tiny small print on the RX sheet, it will say.....may cause compulsive gambling, sexual, drinking, or shopping behaviors. This drug has caused my to do crazy things the last couple of years. I have lost a huge amount of money at the casino or scratch ticket, had excessive amounts of alcohol and my sexual desires were out of my mind. I was in a very dark place. Thoughts of suicide even were in my thoughts a few ...
I'm on mail order for this medication I take pramipexole and have for 5years. Bought at drug store it was a white pill came in mail and it was a blue long pill bouth r 5mg What is the difference and is it the right pill ## I had the same question. ## The way a pill looks is entirely up to the whit and whim of the company making it, so I'm assuming that this order you placed was from a different manufacturer. The same goes for pills here in the U.S. when you see different brands of the generic drug selling in different shapes, sizes, colors, and packaging - but it is still the same drug with another name or another manufacturer. If you are able to get the pill analyzed at a local pharmacy or lab, that would be great if you could post back with the results. I don't know if it ...
Is this medication available in a generic form yet, or can I only get my prescription filled with the brand name? ## There is a generic for Carbidopa/levodopa. Sinemet, the brand name has been out forever. Just call your pharmacy they would know for sure. :)
Have gad my prescription filled 2x at same pharmacy. One is a roubd blue pill with HH on one side and 974 on other side. Other one is a blue oblong pill with H on one side and 87 on the other side. Could this be correct? ## Hi Donna, From what I could find, Ropinirole hydrochloride 1 mg tablets (with an imprint of HH on one side and 974 on the other) are pictured/depicted as being light green in color as opposed to blue, like you had mentioned. For verification, this particular pill is manufactured by a company called Solco Healthcare and carries a National Drug Code of 43547-0270. Concerning the other "blue oblong pill with H on one side and 87 on the other" - this tablet is pictured/depicted as being a 250mg Levetiracetam tablet, used for treating seizures. NOTE: The "H...

What do you mean by written in fraction form? Do you mean that the N is over the 20? There is a round, orangish tablet manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals that has a capital M on one side and N over 20 on the opposite, they list it as containing 2mgs of Ropinirole. The FDA classifies this medication as a dopamine agonist, it is most commonly used to treat Parkinson's Disease and RLS. This medication is most commonly used to treat Parkinson's Disease and RLS. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, vision changes, muscle pain, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?
