Pain Medication Cut Downs (Page 4)
(Newest replies first)

Is it just me or is all the pain management docs trying to cut everyone down or back!!?? When I went to my last visit the doc had the nerve to ask me if I still needed my Oxymorphone 20mg ER (56). I was like YEAH, what do you think?! This is after they closed down for 3 months and I had to switch to Subutex to not get sick. And I got dropped from the 30mg oxymorphone. And by the way the 20'mgs are garbage. Then my doc asked me to get an MRI on my lower back, which I did the month prior. It just goes to show what a dumb ass he is and how they're so not in tune to what is going on! All they want to do is lower and lower your meds. Has anyone else had their doc try and taper them down or try and lower your stuff? By the way, I'm in south FL.

Well, I've lost a few PM's and it can be as simple as, "It was just to tough driving there" or" My new insurance has more benefits"
Your most likely going to just have a form to fll out, so

Oh Jack...
I have no clue yet, I've been thinking about this for the last 3 days. I just called my old pain doctors office and the girls are going to give me a few things they think I need. They were always good to me. And thought I got a bad rap. I know pain doctors here every excuse and lie in the book, I get that. But real things happen in real life to people.
If you can think of anything let me know please. :)
Re: Rawdog (# 121)
So what are your thoughts on this, Rawdog?
Re: Lizzy dizzy (# 130)

Re: Jack175 (# 119)
You're just a doll Jack. Thank you. :)
Re: Jack175 (# 126)
Hi,
Sorry about that. That would be a dream come true, if that happens for me. Thank you Jack. I'm glad you're doing great.
Re: Lizzy dizzy (# 124)
Lizzy, What I meant by saying you could work and have a normal life, was, that by being pain free and not having to concentrate on pain, that you'd be able to do anything you want. I'm 2 years younger than you, and I'm able to get motivated again and get work done on my farm. That's what I'm hoping you receive, the ability to live the life that you normally live :)
Re: Jack175 (# 118)
Hi Jack....
I did explain what happened with my pain doctor. And the family member that lived in my home. It was horrible.

Re: Jack175 (# 118)
Hi,

Re: Lizzy dizzy (# 115)
Ok, so you chose to get on Subutex to avoid getting sick after you lost your last PM Dr. right? You also thought that it was for treating pain, but you found out that it didn't work. But your pain is so bad that you need some relief, so you can work, and live a normal life!
Re: Rawdog (# 120)
Hey Rawdog, it's called Belbuca and you stick the wafer to the inside of you cheek. It's pricey, but my insurance picks it up. I don't think there's a generic yet. With insurance $8.40
Re: Jack175 (# 117)
Hey Jack whats the name of the medication that your taking? And is it put in the cheek or under the tongue? Is it pricy or is there a generic? Please let me know thankd in advance
Re: Jack175 (# 117)
Sounds just same subutex suboxone ect, I wouldn't touch it,it destroys your good feelings stuffs your nerves blocks anything that you enjoy,if you have an accident or need pain relief nothing will work, think about it please.
Re: Lizzy dizzy (# 115)
I'm working on suggestions hon.
Re: Lizzy dizzy (# 115)

Re: Lizzy dizzy (# 115)
Hi Lizzy, I don't know what kind of insurance have, but I found a good opiod that only has to be administered 2x a day. It is buprenophin buccal film. It comes in several doses, anywhere from 75 mcg up to 900 mcg. I started at 300 mcg and graduated up ti the 600 mcg. I'm unable to take pills for awhile as I got a DUI sp we both know that's bad..I sounds to me that you'll be fine darlin. so good luck and go knock it out!!
Re: Lizzy dizzy (# 115)
Lizzy, I think you'll be fine, ass long as you're honest with the doc and just explain That you were on Subutex as a painkiller, and you've gotten zero results.
