when taking Hydrocodone which is stronger? 5-500 or 10-325? ## These tablets contain Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, which are the active ingredients in Vicodin. The first number that you listed is the amount of the narcotic, the Hydrocodone and the second is the Acetaminophen. So, one of the contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen and the other 10mgs of the Hydrocodone and 325mgs of the Acetaminophen. Thus, in reference to the narcotic, for better pain relief, the one with 10mgs would be stronger, however, if you need more of the Acetaminophen, then the 5/500 would be stronger.
