I tested negative once for the one narcotic pain pill, lortab, that I am prescribed and my doctor ran a panel of tests called "assay of bendodiazepines, opiates, amphetamine, cocaine, methadone, meprobomate, barbiturates, dihydromorphinone, to be certain that I was not having a false negative drug screen and it costs over $2,300.00. Is this kind of test used to show what and how much would be in my system over a 30 day period? I was negative for everything, but that was a lot of money for no apparent reason that I could see, since I tested negative on my initial in office drug screen?

Got someone with these and she thinks they have been remaking them. Is there a way to check them to see if they are the original formulation? ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? Where did she get them? If they are from a legitimate U.S. pharmacy, then she shouldn't have anything to worry about. The tablets with the M 523 marking are manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and they list them as containing 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, if they are from some other source, the only thing she could so would be to pay to have them lab tested somewhere. Is there any...

I found some tablets in my yard They are blue oblong one side stamped OXN and other side number five can you tell me what they are ## Hello, Crystal! How are you? From what I've been able to find, this is a medication available under the trade name Targin, it contains 5mgs of Oxycodone and 2.5mgs of Naloxone (though this dosing is going by the most current information I can find and may not be totally accurate, if anything has changed since then!). The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can anyone confirm this dosing?

I take care of a woman on Hospice and she takes liquid morphine. When I first opened the bottle it was a light blue color, now after a month it has changed to a clear color. Is this possible or normal? Or is someone tampering with it? How can I tell? ## Hi Rita, I don't think morphine is naturally blue, so it seems to me like a dye or food coloring could've been used as a part of the inactive ingredients. A few things I'd be curious to know about: - Is there any "settlement" at the bottom of the bottle if you were to shake it up? - Was the bottle was stored properly, and if not, could sunlight or heat alter its physical properties? - And lastly, does the woman you take care have anything to say about the color change or the medication not working as well as it should...

What is the pain killing strength of a norco M 355 ## Hi Debbie, Just to clarify a couple of things - M 355 is actually reported to be a 100mg Diclofenac sodium extended-release tablet, made by Mylan Pharmaceuticals. It has no apparent relation to Norco other than the fact that it can also be used for pain relief; just not nearly as strong in my opinion. In terms of "pain killing strength", drug monographs describe Diclofenac as being used to relieve mild to moderate pain, whereas Norco is described as being used to relieve moderate to severe pain. I hope this helps!

I'm not sure why ppl are having different reactions but i myself have taken hydrodone almost 16 yrs now for MS. then developed AML also . I've had every form of it. i know the exact feeling i get starting with in my head, chest ,stomach ,etc as it's working . these are hydro. they're actually stronger than the yellow I've took 6yrs. it actually made me sick first dose cz I'm used to taking 2at time ,so did with these. only question i have is why do they start dissolving immediately in my mouth &why do they taste so strong ?? I don't remember that before ## The fast dissolving and stronger taste may just be due to them not having a coating on them, while many of the others do. Some manufacturers use a coating to make their pills easier to swallow and to pre...

I'm so sick and tired of being looked at as some hippie freak who is addicted to MS contin. Every month it's the same dam thing, stop what your doing, call this doctor and maybe get a response then wait until he feels like making out a script, then drive to a doctors office, take a piss test then you get to take the prescription to the pharmacy. If I knew my retired years was going to be like this ..... ## give me your e-mail ## You should consider yourself lucky that you don't live in Indianapolis. Just last June I had an major surgury, a vein replacement. I was cut from my groin to just before my ankle, and it is still very painful, yet my doctor tells me that my pain should be gone and will not prescribe me any more 5mg Oxycodone. Looking for a Dr in south jersey I filled out another form but don't know if it went thru. Need relief , can't be sidelined with pain need to work and provide for my family please help ## Hello, Gus! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. Do you currently have a PCP that might be able to refer you to someone? If so, that might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need. Contrary to popular belief, most doctors do have compassion, but their hands are tied by government regulations, so they have to be very careful about what they prescribe, why they prescribe it and how much they prescribe. Additional problems may be created due to your not having insurance. A pain specialist is going to be fairly expensive and most will be reluctant to prescribe potent...

I'm on 1 extended release MS extended release every 12 hours and accidentally took it twice. Should I be concerned? Never had this happen before. ## Hello, Barbara! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? Doubling up like that may create a risk of overdose, so it could be dangerous.
