I am a 58 yr old female that was hit by a car while walking across the street. Since that time my pain level has been managed by my Dr. with non-narcs & over the last 1l4 years has advanced to a narcotic. At this time I use CVS Pharmacy as recommended by my part D. Insurance. For the last month I have had a GREAT deal of difficulty in getting my much needed medication. As a result of this accident I have some CRUSHED DISCS in my neck which causes severe pain in my neck, bottom of my skull, both arms involving All joints.....I also have almost constant muscle spasms in both my upper & lower back. I need to know what the difference is between percocet and oxycottin? ## percocate is cut with asprin. oxycottin is not cut with anything. ## I am on Percocet and Oxycontin.. The difference is, Percocet is short acting drug with tylenol, Oxycontin is much stronger and is a time releasing drug with semi-synthetic opiate derived from an element of morphine. ## Percocet is not cut with aspirin...it is cut with tylenol ## Oxicottin is an opiate oxicodonen and hydrocodon are synthetic base with either a spring or Tylenol like. 5/325 5 grams of the narcotic / 325 of the asprin. Anyone use this for chronic pain? How is it compared to meperidine (demerol)? I used to use an electric wheelchair. Nerves pinching off in neck etc. hands drew up.. Through faith & devotion to God (daily) & finding good Doctors (myopractors, accupuncturists, some kinesiologists& chiros) using Zanaflex for spasms & demerol (mild dosage) for pain I am making tremendous strides & there is no crazy high feeling. I can function & get about now fairly well w/ only a cane & daily devotion to the Lord & simple isometrics. I need a Dr that will prescribe some kind of a narcotic for servere spinal stenios. I have MS and degenerate bone disease on my lumber spine. Have been on oxycodone and oxycontin for five years, but my Dr is retiring and I need to find another pain managment physician. I live in Queens NY but I'm willing to go to any of the five boroughs for a dr. I have my latest MRI that I can bring with me. Ok so i have fibro.. and have tried neurontin, and cymbalta. We were gonna try savella but my me other dr seems to think it will give me same side effects as cymbalta which was increased aggitation and increased anxiety.. im freaking out about this medicine ... someone relieve me of this anxiety... i have med sensitivity and side effects seem common with this one.. ## Hi haley, I can't blame you for being scared to give Lyrica a try. I found a pill on my floor after a "party". No drugs were involved!! I can't find it online it's white oblong blank on one side and I + on the other.(capital i and a plus sign). I have chronic pain in my lower back and right hip and left knee. The lower back is due to degenerative disc disease and tilted discs, the right hip is from extreme arthritis and calcification of the cartridge and hardening of the arteries and the left knee is arthritis and a torn meniscus... I was on 30mg of Oxycodone every 6hrs for the pain for pain management for long term because I've been told there's nothing that can be done at this time besides control the pain with medication. However I was married to a drug addict that was taking my pills and abusing them, so I would run out way early and when they would do a drop on me sometimes I would not have the medication in my body... However I am no longer married to this person. In fact he is in prison and I really need my pain...

My Dr wrote the wrong date on my prescription for Norco and scratched it out and wrote the correct date above it. I have been on this medication and using this pharmacy for years. Will they give me a problem filling it? ## Take it to your normal pharmacy a day of two early...from your fill date...& not on sat when they can't call your doc. Tell the pharmacy about the mistake , even though they will have to call your doc to confirm your script anyway, especially if its a controlled medication.

I've been hearing from some of my friends that they are bootlegged pain pills going around. However, I just went to my Dr. & had a drug test. I'd not been home for several days & had to take a Norco. All my other meds showed up in my test, everything except the white oblong M367 Norco I had taken. I always get the yellow ones. But everyone keeps saying they are the same. If that's true why do my yellow ones show up in my drug screen but NOT THE WHITE ONES M367?

I am amazed that people are so ignorant of what constitutes a narcotic. I grew up when opana(sp?) were made by Endo and looked exactly like a Percodan and responded to water the same. Pharmacies carried coke and like Dilaudid in liquid and powdered form. Those were the days. ## You "grew up" ??? Um, Opana is pretty new,so I'm not sure how you grew up and taking this med do young? All drugs respond to water! Sounds like you've hit your Opana bottle too hard, lady!

My Doctor is afraid to prescribe pain pills even though she's been prescribing them to me for the last twelve years for Chronic Intractable Pain. I have been going through hell. She finally gave me two low dose MS Morphine tablets a day just to shut me up but is very insistent that I find a new doctor even though she has said herself that I will have a problem finding a doctor to take over prescribing my amount of medications. I am going to look in to hiring an attorney and suing for Medical Malpractice but I don't really know if a lawyer would even feel that I have a case. Does anyone have an opinion about this? hi need some real advice I got a call early this morning for a interview and when i woke up i took 5 mg of percocet and had to take a siliva test. i took the percocet maybe 2 hours before i took th test and i brushed my teeth very well and had a hot jaw breaker while i was there lol do you think i will pass im so nervous ## Oxycodone is usually detectable anywhere from 2 to 7 hours after you take it, so it's hard to say. I have had a problem with opiates going back to 2006 starting with vicodin following shoulder surgery. My usage progressed to Percocet, fentanyl, OxyContin, suboxone - clean for 2.5 years, relapse on tramadol, back on suboxone for 2 years, jumped at 2mgs and now weening with kratom. To say it has been a journey is an understatement. I am not naive enough to think that using kratom means I'm "clean" from opiates. It is filling my receptors just like the rest an it's time for me to stop. I've been actively trying to stay clean for about a year now. I no longer chase the high, I just run from WDs. I took oxycodone Thursday and Friday, probably 50-70 mg each day. My last doses were at midnight on Friday night/Saturday morning. I have a 12 panel urine screen on Tuesday at 10 am, and at that point it will have been 82 hours since I last ingested any oxycodone. Will I be ok?

I have been on a pain management program with the same doctor for a long time. My doctor is aware that I am an opiate addict. She prescribes me sixteen 15 mg oxycodone instant release tablets per day, which I ALWAYS take orally. My pain doc is aware that I like to take marijuana, but has recently had me sign a pain contract in which I agreed not to ingest any other substances, including marijuana, with the exception of the medication I am prescribed.
