My UA at the my pain management Doctor's office came up positive for Oxycontin, but I am prescribed Hydromorphone 4mg x 3 & Hydrocodone 10/325mg x 4 - why is that? ## Hello, Marie! How are you? Unless they use an actual certified one, which most don't due to the expense, then false alarms are actually very common. Most narcotics are distantly related and produce very similar metabolites in the body. They should be able to send your sample out for more precise lab work that would eliminate that issue. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I've been on oxycodone 15mgs 4 times a day for about 4 months due to a pancreatic pseudocyst and multiple surgeries. My health has dramatically gotten better but I still suffer from scar tissue damage from all the surgeries and E.R.C.P's. I feel that i wont be needing the pain medicine any longer? So my question is what is the best method to stop the oxycodone without the terrible withdrawal? And are Benzodiazepines a good choice? If so, which ones work most effectively and how should i dose them? Plz help, because just the thought of stopping the oxycodone causes major anxiety and panic attacks. I am a breast cancer survivor/along with with DDD, HDD and showing signs of fibromalgia-I had the lattisumus dorsa breast reconsturciton and have ongoing back/neck/hip pain that prevents me from having any kind of productive life--Except if I am on my pain mediction- I know the the difference and I am not addicted but YES I am dependent. I found a pill with the imprint L917 on it and dont know what it is. It is not scored and has no manufacturer name. What is it? ## I can't find a listing for this in any of our resources, which does make sense, because most of the tablets with an L followed by three additional numbers are over the counter items and they are not required to log their imprints with the FDA. My pharm just switched to the Rhodes 10/325 and I might as well be taking aspirin, except it makes me itch so bad and causes headaches and the sweats. I love the quailtest or the endo. I am calling my pharm in the morning to complain and see if they will be getting something else in. If not I'll be calling local pharms to find something else. I hate these. ## I agree 100 percent. I fill 120 10-325 oxycodone every two weeks for two years and qualitest is the brand that works best for me. My cvs changed it to Rhodes a month or so ago and it was a waste of my script. It says on the bottle, "rapid release pain.......Containing acetaminophen" ## I haven't been able to find a listed that matches this, but I am wondering if it is a generic, or store brand of Tylenol Rapid Release?
