According to the DEA, Tramadol's abuse potential is said to be comparable to other schedule IV controlled substances, such as Propoxyphene. They also go on to state that Tramadol could potentially lead to physical or psychological dependence relative to other drugs/substances in schedule III. I'm assuming that such details are the primary reason why they felt the need to make it a controlled substance to begin with. However, a more thorough explanation can probably be found within the link below: deadiversion.usdoj.gov/fed_regs/rules/2014/fr0702.htm I hope this helps! ## Give...
What are they and what side effects can they have ## Hello, Matt! How are you? This is an opioid that's used to relieve pain. It contains Tramadol and Acetaminophen. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
My friend gave me hydrocodone from1992.. Am I going to be ok ## Hello, Steph! How are you? If it's tablets, they don't get dangerous once expired, they just loses effectiveness. The best thing to do would be to dispose of them, however, if you did take any, they may not relieve your pain much and could cause some nausea and dizziness, but that's about it. It's never a good idea, though, to take any medication that hasn't been prescribed for you and it is also illegal to share medications in this manner. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have accidentally taken 2 100 mg aspirin tablets. I am concerned as to what might happen? ## Hello, Amp! How are you? That's not an overdose amount, it's actually available in tablets in much higher amounts. However, you may experience more nausea, dizziness and stomach irritation than usual, as reported by the FDA. If your symptoms get too severe, you should seek medical attention. Is there anything else I can help with?
Effects of taking hydrocodone acetaminophen, temazepam and ducolax at the same time. I now have double vision and feel very tired and weak. ## Hello, Marlete! How are you doing, now? It was likely due to taking the opiate with the benzodiazepine, they can both cause sedation as side effects and that will be compounded when you combine them. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause other side effects, such as headache, irritability, dry mouth and constipation. Have they both been prescribed for you?
What is the exact name of this medication described above (15mg light blue pill)? Also, what is the equivalent to a 4mg dilaudid? ## Hello, Brokkli! How are you? The blue tablet with an M in a box and 15 on the opposite side is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 15mgs of Morphine in an extended release formulation. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. It is equivalent to 3.75mgs of Dilaudid. Is there anything else I can help with?
A round white pill that is blank on one side and has 104 with a score line on the other. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If I've been taking 20mg of oxycodone a day for 6 months, can I just quit? ## Hello, Frog! How are you? After 6 months, a slow taper would be best and your prescriber should be able to help you with it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. My husband was prescribed Tramadol for back pain to stop the spasm, but we also noticed they stopped the persistent cough he had had for weeks, can he get something similar that would work as well. ## It would require a prescription, just like the Tramadol, but there are medications used for cough that contain Codeine or Hydrocodone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. My daughter had surgery. They put her on 15 mg morphine ER. One tablet every 12 hours. Within five hours she's in pain. Pain level reaches an eight on a scale of 1 to 10. Into hour eight. Called the doctor because I only have three more morphine pills left. They gave her oxycodone mg. take 1-2 pills every 6 hrs. My question is, she has 5/325 percocets from another surgery. Is it ok to give her a 1/4 of the Percocet with ( 1 ) mg of oxycodone? ## Hello, Sue! How are you? It would be best not to, unless her doctor okays it, because there is also Oxycodone in the Percocet and you could risk overdosing her. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth a...

This tablet is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so it is a generic for Percocet. Is there anything else I can help with?
I am taking Percocet 5/325 twice daily for rheumatoid arthritis and/or gout. If I take that with 2 Tylenol will effects and duration be effected? ## There is Tylenol (Acetaminophen) in the Percocet, that's what the 325mg amount designates, so it is not safe to add more, as it could result in overdose toxicity. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I am currently taking hydrocodone for sciatica pain . Its the only thing that works. Is there anything that is equal to it as I can't get a refill. ## Hello, Shirley! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. This is an opiate, so anything comparable also requires a prescription. I am prescribed morphine 60mg 2x day. Phamacy has to order it so I took some old vicodin 10/325 that I had home. Now I must give a urine test to prove to doc that I am in compliance taking my meds (which I usually am). So I need to know if they will both just show as opiates or can they tell the difference. ## The MD gave me morhine for my pain on Saturday at about 1pm,will it show on my urine test today Monday morning?
I think my 50 lb bassett puppy swallowed one of my pain pills (hydrocodone). Will this harm her? ## Have you contacted your veterinarian? I am afraid that my medication knowledge doesn't extend to its use or safety in animals. There are many drugs that cross over, but due to an animal's metabolism, the dosages must be carefully adjusted. Since she is just a small puppy and this contains a narcotic, I'd suggest checking with a veterinarian. How is she? ## Most people I know take 10 to 12 / 8 mg. Dillaudids a day intravenously!! They won't kill you!! Plus you can do at least 6 to 8 / 30 mg. Oxys just for good measure!!!
how long will fentanyl stay detectable in a urine screen?I have take one in 9 days. ## Like most other narcotics, it is usually detectable for approximately 5 days, after use, though there is no exact time frame. There are other individuating factors that come into play, which can have an effect on it, such as your individual metabolism, overall health, activity levels, fluid intake and etc. If you have a prescription for it, then you just need to inform them of this, when you go in for testing. Please help! ## yes dilaudid will help with oxycodone withdrawals but there is a problem with dilaudid you can eat and get unsick but to get the real bang you have to abuse them and alot of people start just by doing it one time then cant stop because it is the best high you can have just being honest ## Dilaudid is just another narcotic, so yes it can help, but you do need to be careful not to take too much of it, or you run the risk of overdose. Learn more Dilaudid details here. The best thing to do would be to check with your doctor to find out if it's safe for you to ...
Doctor told me to half my 30 mg. MS-CONTIN but the package said this pill should not be split. It is a small mauve pill. I believe it is time-relased. ## Time released (also known as controlled release [CR], or extended release [ER]) generally should not be split because of how they are designed. Do the pills in question have any score marks on them? If they are scored then you should be able to split them. If not, then I would triple check with the pharmacy to get their opinion. When in doubt I'd stick with the instructions on the label. You might even want to get in touch with your doctor (if possible) and tell them that the package specifically states not to split the pill and ask them what they think. Hope this helps! ## Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I called the phar...
