Fentanyl Duragesic patches R not for acute pain such as after surgery. Only for chronic long-term pain. I am in constant pain from back, neck, hip and foot injury in serious car wreck 5 years ago. I use 50 mcg patches and percocet 1000 mg for pain, but it is never totally gone, just bearable. ## I am not sure what the dosage is on your Percocet, or if it is even Percocet you are taking, because it does not come in a 1000mg tablet. The max for Percocet is 650mgs of Acetaminophen with 10mgs of Oxycodone. As to the Fentanyl, if it is not controlling your pain, then you have probably built up a tolerance to that dosage and may need to talk to your doctor about making a med adjustment. I have the white suboxone pill and had taken one low dose of vicodin this morning. Can i take a half of the sub now under my tongue, or will i get sick? Dear Sir, Can Aspirin Tablet 80mg (2 tablet a day) be taken together with Metformin HC1 Tablet 500mg (0.5 tablet X 3 times per day)? It is the low dose that many people take for blood thinning and heart health. I moved to candler NC from Phoenix AZ where I was on pain medicine since 1978 but can't find a doctor here or pain manager that will write them for me. Does anyone know of a doctor in Asheville or surrounding areas that isn't afraid to write for them? I'm at my wits end and very much in pain.

I suffer from cluster attacks. My Dr has tried everything under the sun to try to treat them. They are chronic, lasting a year now with no more than a 2 or 3 day break. I usually have one during the day at 10:45 am and 2 at night. Once 1.5 hours after falling asleep and another 1.5 hours after falling asleep after the 1st night time one finishes. The day time one lasts for 30-90 minutes and both night time attacks last 2-3 1/2 hours. 3 days ago, while at his office at 11:45 I had one right there in his office. He performed 2 sphenocaths and gave me a shot of Torrodol with no effect. He has in the past prescribed me many headache treatments all designed for migraines, I think he's finally realizing that cluster attacks are not migraines. If so, it is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. In this case, you have the conversion backwards, because Oxycodone is stronger than Hydrocodone. Taking 30mgs of it would be equal to taking 45mgs of Hydrocodone. Thus, it just takes one of these tablets to equal one a half Vicodin 10/325. Generic Percocet is weak, and having trouble finding brand, I'm a BK amputee. Over 20 yrs with severe nerve bundles on and off meds depending on my situation. Only prescribed 60 10mg/ 325 a month and not a day sooner. I understand the need to not to be over medicated very well. I am now left in pain often since there are days where only taking two pills daily is ridiculous. In my line of work I stand for 3+ hrs. at a time. I have had Percocet 30 mg w/ no APAP . I was told that the company Allergan is making a codeine with promethazine cough syrup previously manufactured by actavis is this true? ## @Mike, According to Allergan's product page (linked below), they do make Promethazine HCL (6.25 mg) + Codeine Phosphate (10 mg) syrup listed under the "Actavis Rx Product Catalog" on page 27 here: allergan.com/Actavis/media/PDFDocuments/2013_US_Rx_Product_Catalog.pdf. Based on the information in that link I think you're right that the formula could've been acquired from Actavis. And for further verification, the syrup in question also carries the following National Drug Codes of 00472-1627-04 and 00472-1627-16. I was on hydrocodone, xanax, soma and I was given a fentanyl patch 100mcg due to a fall. It damn near killed me. Because of sheer stupidity, I cut this patch and took a minuscule amount of the gel, evidently an extreme amount went into my system. My nurse at the time (I actually had a HH RN) was there 30 minutes after I took it, I was having chest pain, was very confused. And a ROOKIE paramedic gave me Morphine! 4mg IV push was added to the prior "recipe/concoction" and it through me in to SEVERE Respiratory Depression. I was breathing 6RPM in less than a 7 minute ride to the ER / unconscious of course; and a Nurse Practitioner in her infinite wisdom without looking at my med list, or seeing I was taking medication for chronic pain gave me Narcan which could have put me in full ...

I take MS Contin and oxycodone. Took a hydrochlorothiazide with my fioricet with codiene for a migraine. Tested positive in UA for hydrocodone. Never touch hydros or anything else not prescribed by my pain mgt doc. He didn't believe me. Got booted. Is it possible that the combination of meds gave a false positive for hydrocodone? I just don't want to be called a liar. Have been on my meds for 15 years and never was questioned or denied my refills because UA's were good. I would like to be able to tell him why the test showed hydros when I never had any.

I have been on Norco 10-325 for pain management. Today I went to pick up script. My doctor did a urine test. She came out and told me that my urine showed traces of a stronger drug and asked me if I had taken percocet. I have not and told her that. She said that she was going to send it to a lab for more extensive testing and if it came back positive we would have to talk again. My question is how can this happen when I have taken nothing except my perscribed meds. My dr had tried me on 800mgs of neurontin earlier in the month which I was allergic to and had to stop after about a week and a half. Also just recently I have had a severe kidney infection and have been taking Cipro and peridium for about four days. Could any of those mess with the results? I am so confused and afraid my doc...
