Both Alcohol and Oxycodone can cause depression of the central nervous system, which may result in extremely low heart rate, blood pressure and breath rate. If they drop too low, it could lead to coma and death. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, when taking a narcotic, it is best not to imbibe. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What a garbage answer. He wasn't asking if he can take at same time, he was asking how long AFTER. Or did you mean to make the absurd claim that, having taken Oxy once you can never d...
I have had back problems for years and I am sick of being a slave to opioids. I used to go to a sports medicine doctor that would prescribe 120 norco's a month and at the same time started to go to a pain management doctor so that I would not run out of meds. The pain management doctor prescribed oxycodone 10's qty 120 per month. Believe it or not by 3.5 months I was going thru 120 norco's and 120 oxycodones in 2 weeks. I have had it, the pain is much better than going thru the hoops, the lies and money I did not have. And on top of it I would still detox every month because I did not have enough money to keep myself medicated. I was planning my activities with life and work around the amount of meds I had on hand. I will give you a live example, on friday I had 12 roxi'...
I recently moved to Abingdon, Va, and I have degenerative disc disease. Pain under control with 15 mg -30 mg oxycodone and cervical epidurals. Cannot find a prescribing doctor in this area. Please help. Have had to fly out to Colorado 3 times to get meds and procedures. ## What type of doctor are you trying to see in VA? To continue receiving treatment for ongoing, chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialists, due to the new laws that were put into effect at the start of the year. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Since medications, such as Oxycodone, are so dangerous and habit forming, restrictions have been placed on how long a generic practitioner or surgeon can prescribe them. Does anyone know of a doctor they can recommend in that area? ## Saw a pain speciali...
How much would a 1mg of IV Dilaudid cost on average? ## There is really no way to even guess, because it's going to vary greatly from area to area. At a hospital, the price will be considerable high, because they have to factor in all associated expenses, such as the pay of the nurse that sets up the IV, the pharmacist that fills the drug order and etc. Many people are surprised when hospital or emergency rooms charges are so high for medications, but most don't stop to consider all the expenses that have to be included in those charges, in order to afford you the best medical care. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Thank you for the answer. The hospitals do charge a lot. On my hospital bill the actual medication cost was under $3, but for the IV injection of it done...
Could anyone tell me if it is possible to get used to the extreme side effect of sleepiness when taking one 30 mg tablet of Roxicodone/Oxycodone? I have 3 diagnoses, including Fibromyalgia and 2 back pain ones and am prescribe 3 per day. I suffer through the pain many days, because I take a pill for the pain, and I fall asleep in 1/2 hour and can't get anything done. Is there a way to counteract the sleepiness? I need the medication, yet I can't sleep all day. ## Unfortunately, I don't think there's really anything you can do to change it, it's a normal effect that some narcotics can have on some people that take them. It used to happen to me when I was on Morphine and it never changed over all the years I was in pain management. However, you may want to talk to your...
I've been suffering from chronic back pain for years due to fractured vertebrae's a compressed disc and a herniated disc I'm simply looking for a doctor who is willing to prescribe me pain medication to help me sleep through the night because my life is been hell. Hi.. It is my understanding that some opiates like H cause some changes in your brain over the long term and I was wondering if this was the case with fentanyl? It is a regularly prescribed medicine so I was hoping no. Anyone? ## Hello, Browncow! How are you? That is one of the huge differences that explains why some drugs are legal and some aren't. The benefits have to outweigh the possible risks and they actually have to have a therapeutic medical use. And no, I've not found anything about Fentanyl causing brain damage. As listed by the FDA, the most common reported issues with long-term use are addiction, tolerance and overdose. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mout...
Is there anyone who can tell me if there is oxycodone 80 mg marked with just E on them? They came in a blister back. ## There is no legally approved U.S. one that just has an E on it. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. The only 80mg approved in the U.S. is the time released Oxycontin manufactured by Purdue. Where was this obtained? ## Hello I have some of these to. Are they fake ## Are they actually oxycodone though or are they fent or something that isn't even an opiate?
I have been on Oxycodone 30 mg for several years and from several manufacturers. Recently I was given 30mg from a manufacturer called Caraco. I was taking up to two at a time followed by a third in a hour because I was not getting any relief. I spoke to my dr and explained I was going thru withdrawals and getting no relief from my pain with the meds that have always worked in the past. He went ahead and prescribed 15 mg of oxycodone so I could get a different manufacturer due to my pharmacy saying there was a shortage of Oxycodone they were not able to get any of the 30 mg due to a shortage of the drug. The only manufacturer available was Caraco. I looked them up and found they have been in trouble before for not putting the ingredient in the medicine. How can we as patients be sure we ...
I found a white oval pill with I 9 on one side and nothing one the other side. ## I am having a difficult time locating this pill, is there any other marking on the pill? Scored? Are the numbers on the pill inbeded in the pill or are they written on the pill? If written what color is the ink? Any more information you give me will help me better in finding the right pill. ## I got some Today, and the person that gave them to me said they were norco's ## I haave a friend thaat is prescribe to these and they are 7.5 norcos. ## R U SURE THEY R NORCOS CUZ I ONLY HAVE SEEN YELLOW NORCOS ## its I6 ...ibprofen 600mg ## I think you have read the imprint code upside-down. Instead of I9 it should be 6I. The oblong white pill with 6I is Ibuprofen 600 mg, manufactured by Dr. Reddy's. It is e...
Tomorrow, I will be finished with a 10-day prescription of Clindamycin for a severe bacterial infection following a root canal. I noticed, long after I was taking them that the RX had one refill of another 10-day (3x daily) bottle. I called my dentist's office today and spoke only to the receptionist (long time grown woman - not a kid) and asked if that was an error at the pharmacy or were I to have it refilled and take it for another 10 days. She said yes and that was without hesitation, and I asked twice. The pharmacist at the drugstore agreed that a 10-day RX was unusual. My dentist is closed Friday through Sunday (and tomorrow is Friday). Is this typical - or was a mistake made? My infection 100% better (tennis ball size swelling just about gone, and I think I'll live. I mis...
My doctor just prescribed me Tramadol for a chronic back pain issue. If I take this med every night, will there be any long term negative effects after a year or two? One more question: what percentage of people who take Tramadol experience the euphoria that can be a side effect of other opiates? ## Hello, Jackson! How are you? There can be risks associated with the long-term use of any medication. The FDA does classify Tramadol as an opiate, so they do warn that it has a risk of being habit forming. With long-term use, it could also cause liver damage, but that's very rare. Other typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and constipation. It's listed that the euphoria was reported by between 1% and 10% of people. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I...
These pills are green with no imprint whatsoever. Blister packaging matches Apotexs' exactly. Anyone out there know anything about these? ## This sounds like a sure counterfeit if you ask me. The fact that it has no imprint and is actually trying to represent itself as something legitimate, is enough of a red flag in my opinion. Apotex's product list (linked below) shows that their green 80mg Oxycontin is supposed to say "APO" on one side and "OCD" over "80" on the back: apotex.com/ca/en/products/downloads/print/en_apl_print.pdf If you're still unsure about it I would probably encourage you to contact the manufacturer regarding this, have it analyzed by a lab, and/or find a way to safely dispose of it. ## A friend just filled a prescription for 40mg a...
I just moved to delaware and am looking for a dr.that will continue my pain meds! I have done unhections n pt n found tht meds work beat for me. For people in TRUE NEED of pain meds it is very difficult to find help! And they wonder why people have to find them on the street?! I would never go that route bit i can understand ## HI Kimberly, Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Just make sure to...
I'm on 10 mg of hydrocodone. I have surgery in 3 weeks on my colon, the fifth one in a year with 2 more to go after this. I have not lied and this is all I take other than celexa 20 mg once a day and over the counter benedryl for sleep. My count will be low today. My plans for when when I get better and I've discussed this my doctor is to completely with their help to detox and never to take this again if possible. I've always been honest and I will today but I have had more pain this month and have taken more. Will I get kicked off because of a low count? ## Good luck! It depends on how you and doc get along and the mood they are in.....I was able for a year to be short every month but all it takes is a different nurse practitioner or your regular one having a bad day. ## I...
I am using amitone 10 for night sleep. Recently I have bottom back pain associated with pain in my left knee. I took one ultracet tab as a safe pain killer after meals as I have severe constipation. Getting some improvement in reduction of pain, I took one more tablet after dinner. As I am continuing with amitone tablets regularly at night, should I discontinue amitone for one day?
Updated in UltracetI have had 4 series of 3 injections in my back which did NOT help at all as well as surgery (two hemi discectomies in my lower back) which helped my sciatica but now it's coming back and my surgeon says he can't do any more surgery. I've had a trial of a spinal cord stimulator which didn't help at all and I have a tens unit. I have fibromyalgia, arthritis, lower back pain and worsening sciatica. I've been taking Norco 10/325 and Neurontin which helps the most, but my family doctor wants me to find a pain management doctor to prescribe these meds now. I am 53. Does anyone know of a good physician who is not afraid to prescribe these medications in this area. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. ## Hello, Beth! How are you? Due to the new regulations that were put in pl...
Anyone going to a good pain doctor in Memphis that is taking new patients. I am on disability and my wife and I both have r.a. The Dr. we have been seeing for over 10 years has cut our pain meds. If we need something stronger he said find a pain management Dr. He now wants to cut out our pain meds all together. Help please this is such a painful and depressing desease. ## I'm sorry that you're having such problems. New regulations have been put in place at the start of the year that are discouraging general practitioners and surgeons from prescribing pain medications for long-term use, due to the risk of improper prescribing and over prescribing, since they haven't been specially trained at managing pain. Did you try asking him for a referral? That often makes it easier to g...
Have tried at lease 20 pharmacies today to get my oxycodone 30 filled. i need this medication and ive been lied to all day. its exhausting..should be against the law to keep our medication from us.they r tryn to play God ## I'm sorry you are having such a rough time getting it filled. This has been happening all over the U.S. There have been many posts about it. Learn more Oxycodone details here. When trying to find a place to get it filled, are you going in to the pharmacies, or are you just calling? ## I know most to all pharmacies carry this. But unfortunately they might not have it readily on hand for the amount you need. I have had this issue in the past. The best thing you might have to do is call whatever pharmacy you are going to go to at least two wks in advance so they hav...
