Hello. I've recently had my doctor retire due to health reasons. And I can't seem to find a doctor that will write me a script for fentanyl. Can anyone help me please before I go in tomorrow to see yet another doctor to try and get a script for fentanyl. I've heard they are a massive improvement on oxycontin? So really really hoping someone out there can help with some sure fire symptoms or at least some advice to help. Thank you ## Shero, I am not being judgmental but the manner in which you posed your question is very troubling. Seeking "sure fire symptoms", (your exact words) means that you are entering into the new relationship with the Doctor in a deceitful manner. Your prior doctor, who you said retired, should have an extensive file on their treating of you. I...

Two weeks ago my boyfriend passed away while in hospital for his Diverticulitis. He was given Morphine at 5pm and then 1 mg of Dilaudid at 8:20pm another 1mg at 9:20 then two more mg's at 11:30pm. Is that to close? Is that to much. His heart rate was at 128 bpm, he was ice cold to the touch. Heavy rasping breathing. Urine was almost black in color. Can you tell did the pain killer make things worse. Also, another question How do you know when dye that is used from testing leaves your system? If it does not how long to they have to remove it before it becomes deadly as it obviously killed him. ## They are commonly used like this, the Morphine wasn't helping enough, so they switched to Dilaudid, which is also used in even higher doses. My guess is he probably died from something r...

round green pill with m on one side,m on the other ## There are no tablets with M and M on them that contain Oxycodone. The only controlled release Oxycodone available, at this time, is the name brand Oxycontin, which used the OP logo on one side of the tablet. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. Are those the only markings on the tablet?

Is it safe to take Tylenol extra strength 625mg and Amox-Clav 875 mg together? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between them in the NIH database, as a matter of fact, they are often prescribed together to treat an infection and the pain some of them can cause. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Has your doctor prescribed them both? ## Took my first Amox clav 875mg at 6 pm. My next one is at 6 am the next day. Can I take Tylenol or an Ibuprofen 200 mg in between doses?

I'm 69 & suddenly suffering from Neuropathic pain in shoulders, hips, & lower back which radiates into extremities. Cause and effect or coincidence? this all started right after a Prevnar 13 shot. I am in FL where MAJOR tightening on Pain Meds is being implemented. Costco sources through Mallinckrodt & Interpharm. Walmart, Publix, Sams use Rhodes. Rhodes does not give me the same level of pain relief and also leaves me feeling agitated and nervous/shaky. Costco Corp policy is also becoming very strict. Diagnosis codes from Prescribing Physicians is required and used to decide if they will fill or not fill. They also require over night wait before you can pick up a filled script. Going to explore where CVS sources and if they coerce you to moving all/additional scrip ther...

substituted for vicodin is hydrocodone acetaminophen 5/500 white oblong shaped tablet imprinted with l544 and has an expiration date of 03/09/2013. Can this still be used safely? ## Hello, Zettie! How are you? White, oblong tablets with L544 on them are not Hydrocodone, nor any type of narcotic. These tablets are manufactured by Perrigo and they list them as containing 650mgs of Acetaminophen in an extended release formulation. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness and headache. Regarding expired medications, most tablets don't become dangerous, once they are expired, but they do tend to lose effectiveness, so you should dispose of them. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Can 4 year old 10mg hydrocodone still be taken and effective fo...

Years ago Nubain used to be a popular and effective drup for pain. It was the only thin that relieved my mom's back pain or my migrain headaches. I am a nurse and haven't heard of anyone getting Nubain in years so I asked an MD recently. He couldn't give me an answer. If it's not classified as a narcotic and relieves pain, why aren't more doctors prescribing it? ## Nubain contains the active ingredient Nalbuphine, which is still considered an opioid, though you are right, it is not classified as a narcotic and doesn't fall under the controlled substances act. I am not sure why it isn't used more often, though it may be due to the fact that it was found much more effective in women and it can actually increase pain in men. This fact actually resulted in the U....

dosage in 2 year old child ## Wikoryl contains: Paracetamol 125mg, phenylephrine hcl 5mg, chlorpheniramine maleate 1mg per 5ml, it is used to treat the symptoms of a cold and allergies. Did your doctor not provide you with any dosing instructions? From the amounts in each teaspoon, it sounds like that would be a dose, one 5ml teaspoon for a child of that age. It is usually given every 6 to 8 hours, as needed, but not to exceed 4 doses a day. ## Is there any problem if it is given to a baby below 2 years. ## is there any problem giving wikoryl to a 11months baby? ## From last two days my 2.3 years daughter got fever only in night (head more warm) dr. I been having hives on and off for the past two months. I just don't know the cause of it. I had taken all types of allergy pills and nothing helps. The only ones that had worked for me are the prednisone, but my doctor can't prescribed me that as a medication. He had only given me two refills of 5 pills and I only save them for when I get the hives really bad, like when I get them on my eyes and lips or on my hands, that makes me go crazy. They hurt so bad and itch when they keep getting bigger. What else can I take that will help the swollen and itchy redness go away? ## Hello, Nylah! How are you? That does sound like you could be experiencing an allergic reaction to something, and yes, it is possible that it could be the Hydrocodone, according to the FDA. Rather than trying t...

Withdrawal from Norco just started and I took a couple to fix the pain. Will these withdrawal symptoms go away if I continue with my normal dosage? If not I'm screwed. ## Hello, Chuck! How are you? Yes, taking them should stop the withdrawal symptoms, though it likely won't be immediate, it may take a day, or so. The FDA lists the typical withdrawal symptoms as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. The best thing to do, if you want to stop taking them is to gradually reduce your dosage, by taking less each day and spacing your doses further apart. Your doctor can help you set up an appropriate tapering schedule for you. I just began taking a blood pressure med (hydroclorathiazide ) & wonder if there is any negative reaction between that drug & lemon balm & L theanine which I take for stress relief. I have only been on the BP med for a few days but haven't dared to use the herbal Stress relief formula since I don't know how they might interact. I also read that ibuprofen has a moderately bad interaction with the BP medicine. Can anyone help me with information about this?

My son is 4 days old. I had to undergo episiotemy. Can i use pain killers like combiflam and paracetamol? What will be the effect on lactation? ## Hello, Based on my research, Combiflam contains the active ingredients Ibuprofen and Paracetamol. I haven't read any reports stating that Combiflam is unsafe to use during lactation. According to medsafe.gov: "Analgesics such as paracetamol, ibuprofen, naproxen and codeine are considered to be 'safe', due to low transfer into breast milk and few problems with extensive usage." This does not mean that no problems will occur however. Everyone reacts to medication differently and there is always the possibility of a reaction, so to be safe, make certain that you and your baby are under a doctor's care while you are using ...
