Trying to find a dr. in portland, oregon. ive had chronic pain for over 10 years and my medical wont cover anymore. The pain is unbearable now and I need several surgeries to not be in pain including 2 back surgeries. If someone could please help me find a good DR. that isnt under someones thumb that would really help. thank you ## Hello, Trish! How are you? I am very sorry about the problems you are dealing with, being in pain is horrible. However, if your medical insurance will no longer cover it, that is not going to change, even if you see a different doctor. I mean a doctor can request authorization, but they can't force your insurance to cover anything. Additionally, all doctors are under the 'thumb' of the government, if they are thought to prescribe medications inapp...
I have been given one prescription for 5mg of oxycodone after a spinal fusion surgery on L4&5, one prescription of 5 mg oxycodone for total hip surgery, and another prescription for the same for shingles within the last four years at different times. I used all the pills at those times. Now, there are days that my back where I had the fusion kills me that I can barely walk. Do I go back to the orthopedic doctor who did the surgery? With all that's going on with these controlled substances, will I get them without a problem, or do I get them from my primary care doctor if I show him the bottles? Over the counter does nothing for my back pain. I am 72 years old. ## Hello, Ann! How are you? Do you have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, speaking to them about your pain, so they c...
I recently got my prescription filled and discovered that my generic Watsons changed to actavis. They are horrible!! They don't work even close to Watsons! Im in pain because they don't work as well. Im very disappointed and will be finding a different pharmacy!!!! ## Hello, Bthcal! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you've had. Many people have actually complained about this one. What I'd suggest is reporting the issue to the FDA, you can reach them at 888-463-6332. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I've been on watson oxy/apap 10/325 for years, and they have always worked wonderfully. last month it was changed to actavis and it feels as if i'm taking HALF THE DOSE! it's HORRIBLE, and not only does it NOT work, it looks just like...
I'm on a 15 mg oxycodone program for failed back surgery and severe arthritis condition and im out of meds. Where can i fill my pain script? ## Hi Robert, You're definitely not alone, as it seems like everyone in Florida is having complications trying to fill their oxycodone scripts, no matter the dosage. The best thing I can recommend trying at this point in time, is checking with sites such as PharmacyChecker, as they only list certified (reputable) online pharmacies. Although I am pretty sure that those pharmacies would require a prescription because PharmacyChecker puts them through a rigorous certification process. You may have to wait for shipping, but I'd say it's better late than never. If you choose to go this route, I'd be interested in knowing how it works...

I found a light blue c25 pill. What is it for? Is it taken for something serious? The pill itself looks like wybulen. ## So my neighbour gave me that light blue pill saying its for severe pain but ive never seen such a tablet ## Just out of curiosity, what is the shape of this pill? Also, is the letter "C" and number "25" on the same or opposite sides of the pill? There is rumor of a blue capsuled-shaped pill from South Africa that fits your description, containing "Mybulen", an anti-inflammatory pain reliever, containing Ibuprofen 200mg + Paracetamol 350mg + Codeine Phosphate 10mg. Manufactured by Pharmacare Limited at: 7 Fairclough Road Korsten Port Elizabeth 6020 You can also have a look at the following related thread for more details: [1] Light Blue Oblong P...

I have a small round peach pill with 2 on one side and TV on the other. I was told it was hydromorphone but can't find any reference to this pill anywhere. I'm in Canada. ## I haven't found an exact match to your pill, but I believe I've identified the manufacturer as Teva Pharmaceuticals. They seem to have a number of different pills with the "TV" imprint followed by a set of numbers. It looks like another user here on the site was also trying to identify this same pill, but with the number 4 instead of 2. They haven't found a match yet, but their thinking is in line with what you mentioned: Discuss/Yellow-round-pill-with-4-on-one-side-and-TV-on-the-other-231296.htm I hope this info helps! Does anyone else recognize these? ## I have a round peach coloured pi...
I take two 50mg tramadol tablets twice a day and one 150mg dose at night on prescription. I went to Spain last year and experienced no problems there. Should I still be worried? I take a copy of my prescription with me just in case, but do I need to anything else before I go on Tuesday? ## Dave, Traveling with medication can be tricky. Unfortunately I do not know all of the illegal substances in each country, however, you can always call the embassy and ask them if the drug you are bringing is allowed. Make sure to let them know the dosage of your medication as some countries only allow a certain amount of a particular active ingredient. Some other good rules of thumb is to clearly label the medication and have proper documentation for it at all times. Have a great vacation.
Been on Lyrica 2 1/2 wks for fibro, it is a miracle drug for that, and thought with no side effects BUT it seems I do, have lost libido and ability. Hope this goes away as I don't want to quit the drug, does anyone know???? ## Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain. That said, sexual dysfunction can be a very common side effect. Some side effects will wear off as your body adjusts to the medication, however, if it does not and remains and issue, you will need to consult your doctor. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Thanks Verwon, That is what I am hoping that I will adjust. Do you know if there is another drug that does the same as Lyrica that I could try that may not have sa...
I had been on 75mg of lyrica and 100gr of tramadol for about one year. I was mostly in severe pain due to a severed nerve that a lady dentist did to me in Canada. I was on 100mg of lyrica every 4 hrs. before that for only two months.but couldn't afford $350.00/mo the cost of lyrica. I started back on the 100mg of lyrica about 3 months ago. I have had now 4 bad side effects. 1. weight gain 2. bloated stomach -like I am 6 mo. pregnant 3. severe joint pain 4. muscle spasms mostly in right foot & gen. weakness ## Hi Evelin, I don't know what good it will do, but you can always report these side effects to the FDA's MedWatch program at: fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch/default.htm If you're able to, I would also highly recommend consuming a lot more fruits and vegetables to help c...
I am prescribed morphine sulfate for chronic pain. I take 120 mg daily. Now I am laid off and have drug tests to pass. I was hired but then not hired because of the test results. Even after offering to stop taking my meds, I was not hired. Now I have another job opportunity. How long will the meds show up if I quit? Can I speed up the cleansing process? Thank You for any advice! ## Except for in certain very rare cases, such as being an airline pilot, or a CDL driver, they cannot refuse to hire you due to the medications you are taking, even if they are narcotics, as long as you have a legal prescription for them. You simply have to inform them that you are taking it and have a prescription, when you go in for testing, though they do have the right to verify it with your doctor, if nece...
I've been taking oxycontin 30mg with oc on them - this time i got oxycontin 30 with op on them and they seem to make me sick. What is the difference? ## Oxycontin OP is brand new to the market and is replacing the regular Oxycontin. The only difference is that the Oxycontin OP has been specially formulated to help prevent abuse. Even if someone tries to crush or chew it, it will retain its time released properties. Otherwise, it works the same and has the same side effects: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I am not certain why it would be making you sick, as compared to the other ones, have you tried contacting your doctor or pharmacist about it? ## the new pill u are now getting is a new formula of the old oc and is supposed to be tamper proof so people cant abuse th...
I have been taking 75mg of Lyrica twice a day for about a year. I have become impotent as a result. I try to stop taking it then the neurotic pain returns. Does anyone else have this problem? ## I have been taking 50mg four to six times a day and I have stopped taking the medication for about two days and my pain comes back. I had S1, L5, and L4 Vert. fused and then two months after my surgery a woman turned in front of me causing me to run into her. It totaled the company vehicle I was in. My back hurts worse now than it ever has. Your right, the pain does come back. ## Impotence is not listed in the side effects for this drug: Lyrica Info Click Here However, it is a potential side effect of many medications and since this one affects nerves and can be used to treat nerve pain, it is a...
So I've been doing some research and came across these new drugs out now or coming soon. Just wanted anyone's opinion on them. Or if you have tried them, what do you think? 1: Vantrela ER (Hydrocodone Bitartrate) 2: Arymo ER (Morphine Sulfate) 3: Probuphine (rod-shaped subdermal implant that last for up to 6 months & costs anywhere from 1,700-5,000 bucks for six months worth) 4: Belbuca (Buprenorphine) doses run from 75-900 and costs run from 250-700 bucks There's one more but it does not have a name yet. It's just called NKTR-181. So if anyone has any info on these please share your thoughts and or if you tried any of them please let me know how they worked or didn't work. Or if I left some out or you heard of other ones I didn't mention please feel free to ...
Is Ibuprofen 500 mg equivalent to Hydrocodone 500 mg? ## The answer to your question is no. Although these are two completely different medications, they are often sold in combination with one another to form a stronger pain medication. Prescription ibuprofen is used to relieve "mild to moderate pain", while some hydrocodone products are used to relieve "moderate to severe pain". Other hydrocodone products are used to relieve cough. Additionally, Ibuprofen is in a class of medications called NSAIDs. It works by stopping the body's production of a substance that causes pain, fever, and inflammation. Hydrocodone is in a class of medications called opiate (narcotic) analgesics and in a class of medications called antitussives. Hydrocodone relieves pain by changing the w...
I am having severe tooth pain on left upper molar. inside of mouth is swollen, gum swollen, left side of face swollen, tooth feels slightly loose. I have constant throbbing nerve pain. tonight is a weekend night. I need something to help with pain until I can get to the dentist tomorrow. Pain is unbearable without meds. is it okay to take cyclobenzaprine, tramadol, trazodone, ibuprofen, and tramadol together? that is how painful tooth pain is. ## I am very sorry about the dental problem that you're having. However, you shouldn't take any medication that hasn't been prescribed for you and neither the Trazodone, nor the Cyclobenzaprine will do anything to help with the pain or infection. Trazodone is antidepressant that also helps with some cases of severe insomnia and Cyclobe...
I just moved to Nashville and need a Dr. to continue writing my Oxycodone 30mg 4/day. I have medical records & MRI showing I actually need the medication. I can get a referral if needed. I appreciate ANY help. Thank you! ## Hi Nashvillelady, I may not have a PM doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in so far as finding pain management doctors within your general area... Just input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist I'd consider calling up a number of them to see if any are accepting new patients, as some aren't, but most usually are. I hope this info helps and wish you good luck on finding the right doctor! :) ## ...
I am having a mild fever with a cough and cold and running nose since 4 days. I've taken paracetamol & Leon but my fever is still not going away and neither is the cold. ## A cold is caused by a virus, so an antibiotic will not help with that. An antibiotic will only help with a bacterial infection. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My husband is 57yrs old and he's been coughing productively for a month with wheezing, difficulty breathing, taking cough syrup and not getting better. What is the best antibiotic of choice? He is a smoker. ## I am having a mild fever with a cough and cold and running nose since 4 days. I've taken paracetamo...
