Pain Management Doctors In And Around The Baton Rouge Area That Prescribe Meds To People Who Really Need Them & Accepts Medicaid (Page 4) (Top voted first)

Updated

Does anyone know of a doctor in and around the Baton Rouge Louisiana area that will prescribe pain meds that takes Medicaid? I'm seeing a doctor now in Maryland but I really need to move back to Louisiana very sad that your pain keeps you from moving. I have a sister that is terminally ill and sad to say dying...and meds are keeping me from going to take care of her in her final days. Please help

Yes,Shana,he does. His cash payment was $215. I think it's still the same. Call the office as soon as you can. Again, I'm sorry for the long wait and all you've been through. Good luck and please tell me if all work out.

I'm sorry to hear that. I was a self pay patient years ago. Well, I had insurance when I started going but die to a job change lost the insurance. He let me self pay. His practice is changing drastically since I first saw him.
I don't know where Dr Jeff Adair is but he is a good Dr. He test but he is a good Dr.

Sunny I know a Dr. who will accept cash. He accepts Medicare, but NOT Medicaid. However, he is in Slidell, La. I'm not sure, if you are able to go to Slidell? He is a good, legit Dr. If you are interested post a reply and I will give you the information for him.

Destin you sound as if you really like this specialist. Does he take complex cases at all? I've followed posts on several physicians in Louisiana--some are not the same folks will say but he seems to have five stars on reviews. I'd be interested. I had to go to California for five years so next door is always closer.

Thanks.

Destin I am getting my paperwork together. Thanks so much for the information but would there be any reason you think he would not see me? Does he give injections or just pain meds?

Posters as far as essential services Ohio is under federal indictment now (ahem thanks to mouths that are wide and intelligent who fight for Medicaid underdogs) for restricting specific drugs; I had several recipients that I had referred a few years back who were WC then settled prematurely for low money and ended up on Medicaid.

Medicaid Ohio tried to restrict drugs the first was Duragesic (brand) then Fentanyl patch generic totally from formulary. It took a lot of teaching (I am also a documentation expert) to physicians but when we went to what was necessary "pain as chronic" is non vital or life threatening. When we take pain as a disease for example I have progressed to Central Pain Syndrome which is life threatening, and further I've had RSD systemic for so long now it causes CRF (chronic renal failure or kidneys), hypokalemia (low K+ related to the renal issues of course), and basically organ failure then exceptions begin.

I will never watch someone who can die from pain die due to lack of insurance or broad Medicaid policy indications that do not address pain as a death sentence.

As far as Louisiana I have legal residence there for over 10 years. In fact I have legal residence in four states currently but literally lived there and may be so right now.

No not porcupine 'opine.'

Destination, I am going by Federal and State Laws.A Dr does not have to be a Pain Management Dr to treat your chronic pain. A Dr can write 3-30 day prescriptions at one office visit, although most prefer to have their patients come in every 30 days. Norco is a hydrocodone combination med and as of.October 6, 2014 these meds became a Schedule II. That is why they are treated as a Schedule II now. But. Tramadol is a Schedule IV and can be called in and refilled and you Do Not have to see your Dr by law. Unfortunately many drs are telling their patients they have to do things a certain way because it is a new law, those drs are lying.

I will post links to this info next week. If you have links that state what you are saying is federal and state law please postate. Federal laws can be found at the DEA website and state laws in the state statues for each state.

But isn't he with the Feldman institute?

I'll vouch for this. You need RECORDS and he does a UA every visit, but he takes Medicare, Medicaid, and cash/self-pay. He's brilliant, does procedures right in his office. Look up "Feldman Institute" in phone book.

Thank you I will call today. I tried calling there a few years ago and at that time they didn't accept medicad. Keeping my fingers crossed!! My collar bone and back of neck near spine is so swollen and painful. I went to my new rhumatologist and she told me take Tylenol. I'm like are you serious? She just said my disease is flaring and sees the swelling and she thinks Tylenol will touch this pain . That's not even funny , down right sickening when a doctor will let you stay in pain because they're scared to write pain meds. Im to the point where I just want to say f it and not bother trying to get out of my bed. No one cares anymore. I'm so tired of hurting and it's to the point where it's unbearable. Thanks for your help.

Medicaid in Louisiana will NOT pay for pain management. Have you ever tried Suboxone for pain management, I do, yes it cost, but your clean.

goddess, Lortab and Percocet are Not the same thing. Lortab is a combination of Hydrocodone and 325 mg Acetaminophen. Percocet is a combination of Oxycodone and 325 mg Acetaminophen. Percocet is stronger than Lortab.

If you're interest in Methadone for the treatment of chronic pain, you may want to read the info below.

"This review also shall identify any current practices, such as use of methadone as a preferred or first-line pain management drug that are inconsistent with the goals of reducing opioid use disorders and overdoses."
