I have posted before about these meds which are the most effective rescue meds available (though not here in the UK) from my OxyContin, which only lasts a maximum of six hours and not the 12 as stated on the box, so need up to three rescue dosages of a suitable 4-hour action analgesic daily. First, can anybody tell me if the much cheaper TEVA US generic oxymorphone is up to the quality standard of the excellent Endo IR OPANA 10mg (and occasionally I need 5mg tablets as well)? What is the best value for money brand of hydromorphone IR high dosage (4mg and 8mg)? I know that the original Abbott/Purdue DILAUDID is by far best, but I hear good things about Ethex and Mallinckrodt's generics. Mallinckrodt also tend to be a lot cheaper than most generic opioids. Finally, how on earth can I ...

I am a long time pain suffering patient that still needs to work. And pay a lot for opana. What Pharmacies in Portland carry Generic Opana ? Actavis brand or other?. Someone please help. I'm currently experiencing severe sciatic pain and knee pain. ## I'm sorry, but there is no listing of pharmacies according to what they do or do not have in stock that I can refer to for you. Since this is a controlled substances that is very commonly abused, the only way to get an accurate answer would be to go into the pharmacies, with your prescription in hand and ask them if they carry the generic. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I c...

That information would better enable someone to make a recommendation. How come my Dr keeps telling me that with oxymorphone 40mg you do not get breakthrough meds and refuses to give me anything else.Been on same dose over. 3years and meds do not work like they used to.Is it just me who deals with extremely strict guidelines. I know others are getting BT meds and he thinks I'm dumb.Is 3years too soon to expect med increase? ## Hello, Joe! How are you? No, you are not the only one dealing with this, there have been many people complaining about it all over the U.S. The amount of time it takes for someone to become tolerant to a medication and need an increase can vary from person to person, so there is no time frame for that. What type of doctor are you seeing? Is he a pain specialist or a PCP?

It's Oxymorphone Hydrochloride(Opana)10mg instant release. Made my Teva Pharmacuticals! ## Thanks for taking the time to share this pill ID. I have been taking oxymorphone er 2 tabs a day, 10mg each. I have 26 vicodin 7.5/325 per month for breakthrough. It's not enough. Both knees and lower back hurt. I have suggested changing to oxycodone 20mg (for breakthrough instead of vicodin) 1 or 2 a day, or raise the dose of oxymorphone to 30mg, or 1 or 2 oxymorphone ir per day, Please, please I invite anyone to make a pain regimen for me, I have to do something! Lisa12 ## Hello, Lisa! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the pain you're suffering from. However, only your doctor can make a pain management regimen for you. what is the difference between oxy 262 and opana. Peep in st think that something is wrong with 262 ## Is there a compositional difference between Opana 40 er and Oxymorphone 262 erM ## Yes, there are going to be some differences, because the tablet with the logo and 262 marking is a generic, which contains 15mgs of Oxymorphone and there can be differences in the amount of the active ingredient and in the inactive ingredients, between it and the name brand. For most people, the differences have no real effect, but if someone is sensitive to medications, it may not work as well for them as the name brand does. Are there any other questions or comments? ## There really is no difference it is the exact same thing! Oxymorphone IS Opana ## can people still snort the new 262? i caught my neph...

I am taking 10mg Oxymorphone twice a day, with Vicodin 7.5/325 for breakthrough. If I have occasion to need the Vic I take 1 tablet and it knocks me out the first day and renders me too drowsy and weak to be useful for 2 or 3 more days! Any advice/suggestions? ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? All narcotics can cause sedation and drowsiness, so there's no way to say which one won't cause you such a problem. Everyone is different and the only thing you can really do is try other ones to see which one causes you the least amount of problematic side effects. Percocet might be an option that you could discuss with your doctor. It contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen and the Oxycodone tends to give energy to more people than many other narcotics. Can someone tell me a dr that perscribes these I was getting them in Texas but now in raleigh can't find dr to prescribe {edited for privacy} ## Hi, Sam! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having. However, I wanted to ask how you're checking to see if a doctor will prescribe it? What many people don't realize is that if you're calling around to various doctors and just asking if they'll prescribe a certain medication, you will usually just be told no, because most doctors and their staff are taught to view that as drug seeking behavior. Thus, what you need to do is find a new doctor first, then make sure that they receive a full copy of your most recent medical records. When they can see what medication has and hasn't worked for you in the past,...

Wut if any drug out there is similar /comparable to Oxymorphone?? ## Not precisely; the best alternatives are oxycodone & hydromorphone in the US with the addition of the absolutely superb dipipanone (Diconal) in the UK. A 10mg average oxymorphone dose would require 30mg Diconal to give the equivalent analgesia. Before changing to IR Oxycodone I took the 120mg Oxycontin twelve hourly but as its duration of action is only 6 or 8 hours at most, required rescue meds and dipipanone was by some way the most effective. I am looking for an oxymorphone IR 10mg source myself for a change of scenery but find it impossible to get from any US pharmacy sent over the water. My Texan friend tells me that it is the best analgesic she has ever had. On that basis, unless you have tolerance problems, ...

I have a prescription for 20mg Opana ERs, and strongly desire to get the newer "generic" version. The "G 73" tablets work better for me, and are more inexpensive. My doctor has checked the product selection permitted box at the bottom of the actual prescription, which I thought meant that a generic version is allowed, but am still having problems. I have a friend that told me that the prescription must read "oxymorphone", and not "opana" in order to get the generic version. Is this true?!? ## Come to think of it, depending on the wording, I think by having your doctor checking that box, it's actually telling them not to give you a generic. I'd suggest asking at your pharmacy, because I know in the state I live in, there are a couple of different w...

Hi, 3 weeks ago I had my script for the Endos Opana er 20mgs filled, and would I by able to get a script fill for the Generic Oxmorphone HCL er 20 mg filled, since one script said Opana 20mg er, and the new script states Oxmorphone HCL er 20mgs, Thank you for any help ## Hello, There is no way a stranger can really know what your pharmacy will or will not be able to fill for you since that is based solely on the pharmacy's discretion and whatever policies they have based on your specific prescriptions. I would just give them a call, I'm sure they will be able to clear this up for you. I have been prescribed opana 40mg for almost two yrs. I really wanted to be optimistic about the new formula but it does not work! Very little to no pain relief from these plastic pills! I understand the need to make safer, but this is crazy...extreme! Why make them at all? Can anyone suggest a medication that I can switch to?? ## Have you talked to your doctor? Then smash it and cook it some more. fyi i use a torch its so much faster. step 2- take and put yo water to it and then mix it up real good and thats it. ## There are actually no safe ways to do so, since medications in tablet form are not intended to be injected. Found 4 before discoveringsmall white circular unmarked pills and same size as my prescription oxymorphone 10 mg tabs....possibly pill tampering???? oxymorphone pills. To the untrained eye looks same as prescription.... 54/814 on one side smooth small white and without scoring, other side without markings. This unmarked pill when placed side by side and on top of the prescription med details = no markings or scoring on both sides of the pill, round, white and appears to be same size. Only differences are...no markings, not as smooth and both sides....the edge circumference is symmetrical but not flush...turned upwards...without distortion... Is it possible these pills seemingly identical missed the stamping process and poor quality slipped through.. I have felt slight or minimal changes...
