Plastic Pills Suck!
UpdatedI have a prescription for 20mg Opana ERs, and strongly desire to get the newer "generic" version. The "G 73" tablets work better for me, and are more inexpensive. My doctor has checked the product selection permitted box at the bottom of the actual prescription, which I thought meant that a generic version is allowed, but am still having problems. I have a friend that told me that the prescription must read "oxymorphone", and not "opana" in order to get the generic version. Is this true?!?

Come to think of it, depending on the wording, I think by having your doctor checking that box, it's actually telling them not to give you a generic.
I'd suggest asking at your pharmacy, because I know in the state I live in, there are a couple of different wordings to it, but if the doctor checks the box, then that means no generics can be provided.
It's usually by not checking the box, or writing instructions in that state otherwise, that allows a generic.
Learn more Opana details here.
Have you asked your pharmacist about it?
My doc writes Opana for my combat wounds and my pharmacist gives me the generic no problem. Depends if you have a good pharmacist I guess. Best of luck.
