I have been given one prescription for 5mg of oxycodone after a spinal fusion surgery on L4&5, one prescription of 5 mg oxycodone for total hip surgery, and another prescription for the same for shingles within the last four years at different times. I used all the pills at those times. Now, there are days that my back where I had the fusion kills me that I can barely walk. Do I go back to the orthopedic doctor who did the surgery? With all that's going on with these controlled substances, will I get them without a problem, or do I get them from my primary care doctor if I show him the bottles? Over the counter does nothing for my back pain. I am 72 years old. ## Hello, Ann! How are you? Do you have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, speaking to them about your pain, so they c...

I recently got my prescription filled and discovered that my generic Watsons changed to actavis. They are horrible!! They don't work even close to Watsons! Im in pain because they don't work as well. Im very disappointed and will be finding a different pharmacy!!!! ## Hello, Bthcal! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you've had. Many people have actually complained about this one. What I'd suggest is reporting the issue to the FDA, you can reach them at 888-463-6332. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I've been on watson oxy/apap 10/325 for years, and they have always worked wonderfully. last month it was changed to actavis and it feels as if i'm taking HALF THE DOSE! it's HORRIBLE, and not only does it NOT work, it looks just like...

I'm on a 15 mg oxycodone program for failed back surgery and severe arthritis condition and im out of meds. Where can i fill my pain script? ## Hi Robert, You're definitely not alone, as it seems like everyone in Florida is having complications trying to fill their oxycodone scripts, no matter the dosage. The best thing I can recommend trying at this point in time, is checking with sites such as PharmacyChecker, as they only list certified (reputable) online pharmacies. Although I am pretty sure that those pharmacies would require a prescription because PharmacyChecker puts them through a rigorous certification process. You may have to wait for shipping, but I'd say it's better late than never. If you choose to go this route, I'd be interested in knowing how it works...

I just moved to Nashville and need a Dr. to continue writing my Oxycodone 30mg 4/day. I have medical records & MRI showing I actually need the medication. I can get a referral if needed. I appreciate ANY help. Thank you! ## Hi Nashvillelady, I may not have a PM doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in so far as finding pain management doctors within your general area... Just input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist I'd consider calling up a number of them to see if any are accepting new patients, as some aren't, but most usually are. I hope this info helps and wish you good luck on finding the right doctor! :) ## ...

I have a 7.5mg oxycodone with acetaminophen (U16 on the pill). I need to know if I can cut this in half? I have looked everywhere to see if it is IR or XR and cant find a thing. ## It's IR, and yes it can be cut in half ## thanks ash, I appreciate the response. Usually well it seems they used to say if the pill was immediate release or timed release. I looked everywhere but i hoped that somebody out there takes it. Now I can take 1/2 when i am not in too much pain. ## No problem i had them a few times. Not my favorite. Actually fought with riteaid - they didnt work to well for me, however, they took over watson brand ## Well I hope that is not a problem for me but i have one friend that agrees with you. I am just being changed from 5 mg to these 7.5 ones. I havent used them yet. I k...

I've been on oxycodone 10mg for several years. My pain management doc has been reducing my prescription by 5 pills each month to get me down to just 120 per month. Next month I will be at the 120 mark. I've been complaining as that 1 less per day makes a difference in managing my pain daily. A few months ago my pharmacy switched their supplier and the new pills won't cut. They literally shatter on one side leaving me about 3/4 of a pill & crumbs. So now my doctor is suggesting I go on Percocet 10/325mg. I know the 325 is acetaminophen. But what is the difference between Oxy & Percocet? I'm not a fan of taking that much acetaminophen daily without an end in sight. Is the Percocet 10/325mg is stronger than Oxy 10mg? The same? Unless it's stronger, I don't k...

Walgreens new Camber 5mg Percocet is not coated. Blue dye is bitter, upsets stomach and stains tongue. Pharmacist stated I wasn’t supposed to place pill on tongue. He stated ALL Tylenol is bitter. Told him I’d have to suck on a Tylenol to experience this taste. Does anyone know what blue dye is for? Also, this brand, from India, relieves pain, if at all, for maximum of 2 hours. What a rip-off! Who handles quality control in India? If they’ve setup shop here, it’s to import this crap legally. Husband has same problem w/Camber’s10mg Percocet, but atleast they r coated. ## Hi Caren, Lets answer your questions one at a time. Blue dye is used to color the pill, think of food dyes. The reason that the pills are colored is because the FDA ensures that medication i...

I have a round orange pill with 44 218 on one side and nothing on the other side. Is it really an aspirin or is it oxycodone? ## Hi Keke, A round orange pill with 44 218 on one side and blank on the other, is reportedly identified as an 81mg Aspirin (chewable). From what I could tell, both Walgreens and Major Pharmaceuticals market their own version of this pill with the same physical description. I hope this helps! ## This is chewable aspirin - small dose. I recently purchased it and it is made my Major Pharma (a Harvard Drug Company). Sorry to disappoint you!

I have oxycodone 10’s (5 of them) and it looks like they got wet or something. The imprint is kind of faded. I can barely see the numbers and it didn’t take the pain away like it usually does. My question is, what could it be? Could they have gotten wet or is it a bad batch from the pharmacy? ## Hi Red, Sorry to hear about your situation. In my opinion I think you should contact your primary care physician since the pills are not working for you in the way that they normally do and explain the situation. Considering your pills are still in tact and the imprint is still legible he/she may be willing to refill your script or exchange them so that you are not taking partial doses of your medication. I suppose ultimately it would come down to your opinion of if the pills are sti...

I would like to know what would cause an overdose in a male who is 225 lbs. in weight using oxycodone. I have over 220 5 mg. tabs. ## Please correct me if I am wrong, but to my knowledge, Oxycodone doses aren't usually based on weight, but rather the severity of the pain you're dealing with. I went ahead and posted the adult dosing guidelines below...As far as ODing on oxycodone, I would guess anything over a 100mg, since you can get them in doses of as high as 80mg and oxycontin at even higher doses. For initial treatment the following dosing schedule is recommended: Immediate Release (IR): 5 mg to 15 mg orally every 4 to 6 hours Controlled Release (CR): 10 mg orally every 12 hours. For maintenance treatment: Immediate Release: 10 mg to 30 mg orally every 4 hours. Doses greater...

I'm looking for a pharmacy in the Milwaukee Wis area that carries Millinckrodt Oxycodone IR 5mg meds. ## Hello, J R! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no database of which pharmacy carries a medication from any given manufacturer. I'm not sure which one you're looking for based on just what you said in your post, since Mallinckrodt makes a couple in the 5mg dosage. Did your pharmacy say it was out of stock? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## I am in pain and need the A 51 oxycodone pills.
