## I found a pill in my husbands pocket. It is a round pill that has 40 on one side and E705 on the other. If anyone can tell me what it is I would be really greatful. I have been prescribed and taking oxycodone 10 hcl, 1-2 tablets every 6 hours. Today saw my spine surgeon (nurse practitioner) to get a refill prescription and what I was given was oxycontin 10 mg extended release, the prescription says to take 1-2 tablets every 6 hours. Isn't this too much from what I have been taking? My pain level has been maintained on the oxycodone 10 hcl every 6 hours along with tramadol 50 mg every 6 hours and neurontin 600 mg 4 times a day. ## No, it's still the same dosage of the relevant medication, because Oxycontin also contains Oxycodone. I have been on Oxycontin for 18 months and have weaned myself off them. I am wanting to find out the long term side effects of the drug. There is no roxicontin its roxicodone 5, 10,15 and 30mg. Then they have oxyir, oxycodone. Those are instant release! ## You are correct, the actual name of the medication is Oxycontin and it contains a time released formulation of Oxycodone. I read that Actavis is makeing a generis OxyContin, I am prescribed 80mg. OxyContin, and because all the idiots that abused the original. Purdue had no choice but to make it to where u could no longer snort it, shoot it, plus I was told it was smoked as well. In such cases, the person can apply for their program and, if approved, their doctor faxes a signed prescription each month, then their medication is shipped for them. Is there a chart or bell curve to show how fast, and how long 30mg Oxycontin pain pills provide relief ? There must be some way to determine how much pain relief I should be getting from this one pain pill lasting 12 hours, and when. Certainly no one is getting a full 30mg. of this pain medicine for the full 12 hours. My doctor recently began prescribing me OxyContin 20 mg tablets for my EDS and arthritis pain. He also is prescribing me 20 mg of Pepcid for a stomach ulcer I have. From what my pharmacist told me the OxyContin is a time released medication broken down by stomach acid. The problem I'm having is with the Pepcid I'm taking I do not have enough acid to properly break down the OxyContin. I can literally see the pills come out in my bowel movements. I'm also having trouble urinating since starting this medication. My question is what type of medication can I ask my doctor to percribe me that will be able to break down with being on the Pepcid? How can I tell if oc 80 is real? ## Hi Misti, If you could provide the imprint(s) on the tablet, along with a physical description of the pill (color, shape, etc), then I can help you determine if it's real or not. I have seen a round green 80mg Oxycodone tablet with the imprint: M 596; and another round green one with the imprint: ABG 80; and one other that is oval and green with an imprint of: 33 93. While I'm sure there are a few others out there besides these three that are 80mg doses, once you post back with more details, we can narrow down the search. I hope this helps!
