I received my first prolia shot 3 weeks ago. At first I felt fine. Lately, I have severe leg, arm, and lower back pain. I exercise an hour a day and I am in excellent health. I am wondering if these reactions will ever disappear or lessen. It is exagerated at night in bed. Please let me know if these pains will go away? ## The joint pain can be a side effect of the Prolia shots, it should eventually go away, but may return if you try more shots. Learn more Prolia details here. Are you feeling any better? Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? ## I can tell you I had painfull joints and nausea. I called the manufacturers and reported it to my doctor. It took about 2 months before theses symptoms subsided. I will not be getting this injection again. ## Yes, after a week of motrin,...

Briefly, 67 yrs. old with T-scores in the -4 to -4.9 range. I already have 6 compression fractures; 4 of them in the spine. My Rheumatologist insists on Prolia, and my Neurologist is insisting on the Kyphoplasty proceedures. I am virtually bedridden and heavily medicated with 2 types of morphine. After reading all of the negative posts, I have intrepidation when it comes to the IV's. My insurance only covers 2 IV's total. I am a widow and have limited income. Can 2 IV's do any good in restoration of bones? We had to cancel my first IV because of a fresh fracture that occurred just repositioning myself in bed. Now I'm considering cancelling the IV's forever. ## Hello,. GrammaKj! How are you feeling? When you read horror stories online, you should be aware that they ar...

I have read a lot of troubling facts SINCE I had thais shot, and don't know if I would takeit again in six months ! I sent my M.D. all the facts with the new black box label DRUGS NOT TO TAKE. It seems that people are having "stress" fractures from weakening of the bone tissue. Something about not re building bones but they are being torn down too fast, more than they are made. So consider this drug like all the other cancer drugs of the past for osteoporosis !! Reclast was a significant problem too ! You should feel nauseous for about one week, and you will feel like you have the flu also. Good Luck to all those who need this drug, I am in this category b/c I was on Bisphosphanates since I was 19, (now 66), had 4 doses of RECLAST, can't have that anymore either. Looks l...

Wife was just standing when her femur fractured just below the hip joint. She fell to the ground, in agony. Orthopedic surgeon said she DID NOT have osteoporosis, in fact her bones were very solid. She took Fosamax for years, for the last three or four, was on generic alendronate Sodium. Now has a metal rod in the femur, held in by a pin and screw. She faces months of pain and healing. Need to find a law firm willing to take her case on contingency basis, since we are on Social Security, and cannot afford to pay a law firm. ## We live in Amesbury, MA. Wife needs a walker to get around, had to spend money for plane trip back from MO, since she could not take a long car trip after surgery. Also had to pay to transport to KC Airport. Hi . I will be going on a trip to Honduras next month. I have the travel cooler to transport it there. But the hotel in the town I'll be at doesn't have refrigerators in the rooms. I've been looking for a way to keep it cool while I'm there for 10 days. I've looked on line for small medication coolers for meds like Insulin.. I have found 2 different products, but range in price from $55-90. Has anyone had any experience using these? Or have any suggestions for something else? thanks ## Hi, Sharon! Have you tried contacting the hotel? Though they don't have refrigerators in the rooms normally, many of them do keep small ones on hand for patrons that may need them due to medical issues, such as this. Learn more Forteo details here. Can anyone help identify following tablet: White oblong shaped pill witha line down the centre and imprinted with the letter J on either side of line. The other side of pill is totally blank. ## The closest match I could find is identified as Alendronate sodium (35mg); which is a white oblong pill imprinted with "J" on one side and "242" on the other. Manufacturer: Jubilant Cadista Pharmaceuticals Inc. Alendronate is used in the treatment of prevention of osteoporosis. I know it doesn't sound like a precise match, but perhaps this can at least help to narrow down your search (for you and for anyone else who may be trying to identify this pill). ## The pill you are describing is frequently given out by private slimming clinics as 'Diethylpropion' 75mg extended ...

Took my first Prolia shot 4 days ago. I am having severe jaw pain. Most people can hear my jaw moving and it feels and sounds like it is cracking. I am going to report to FDA and of course make an appointment with my dentist. I just finished treatment for breast cancer and have to take an aromatase inhibitor for 5 years which causes weakining of bones which is why they prescribed Prolia. I am just beginning but I will never take another dose of Prolia. ## HI! Very sorry that you're in pain and miserable. There have actually been many complaints about Prolia causing these types of issues and many people are refusing to continue on it. Hopefully, it's just some inflammation or something from it and not a more serious problem. Can you post back after you see the dentist and let mw ...

So, do I take the Prolia shot because I have osteoporosis, high risk for fracture, and higher risk because I just started Arimidex. I have been on Arimidex for one month, and no side effects so far. I don't like what I have been reading about Prolia and I don't want any more issues. I'm 59 still work full time, walk an hour twice a week, and weights on the other days, do the best I can on eating right. I don't want to feel bad and can't work, but I also don't want to end up in a wheel chair,so my husband can take care of me. That's not quality of life! I have an appointment June 26 but going out of town on the 29th don't know what to do? ## Hi, Irene! There have been many complaints about problems with the Prolia shot. Has anyonehad subsidence of prolia pain? How long did it take? ## How severe is it? Joint pain is a very common side effect of this medication and going by other posts on here, it's caused many people to have to discontinue it, because it doesn't seem to change after they've been on it for awhile. I have had 3 Prolia injections so far. Only recently did I see a pattern regarding the ensuing pain. After each injection, I would have about four pain-free days. Then I would have five months of constant and debilitating pain in both hips, both knees, both thighs and both shins. At the end of the fifth month, the pain would stop suddenly, and I would have one month with no pain at all. This would be followed, of course, by another Prolia injection, and the pattern would repeat itself. The reason I kept going with the Prolia was that my rheumatologist informed me that my pain had no connection to the drug! It took me three repetitions to smarten up and decide to believe my body. I will be having no more injections! ## Hi Jan, Glad to hear you're taking back control over the pain! No...

used for making bones stronger ## what side effects or negative problems are seen with Fossinex? ## The name of the medication is Fosamax, this is just another example of why they should be made much easier to understand! Fosamax is used to treat osteoporosis and several other diseases of the bone. In 2008 a generic became available. You can learn more Fosamax details here. Side effects may include nausea, esophageal ulceration, skin rash and joint/muscle/bone pain. Are there any questions or comments?

I was put on Fosamax & Evista when it first became available for Osteopenia (very early surgical menopause). When it became notorious for side effects, my dr said to get off it immediately. Now, years later, have developed jaw pain and assoc symptoms on one side....to be investigated. Can it affect a person years later?? ## At this point I'm really not sure that it's possible to say whether it was caused by the medication or just something that's developed. What type of jaw pain are you having? Have you had any dental problems? Do you grind your teeth, at all? I think the answer is really going to depend on what's causing the issue and it's hard to guess, when you're still not sure.

I have osteoporosis and used to take Fosamax but I stopped taking it a few years ago because of the bad publicity it was getting. I broke my toe 6 months ago and it still hasn't healed. Will taking Fosamax help heal my toe or will it hinder it? So far, I have received conflicting advice. Many thanks. ## From what I could gather, Fosamax is used for osteoporosis and several other bone diseases. However, it doesn't really get into any specific details as to what other types of bone diseases it actually covers. After looking at the side effect profile of this drug, I would honestly stay away from Fosamax, as I don't think it's worth it. If anything I would simply suggest eating more fresh fruits and vegetables to help your body heal quicker. This, along with meditation or u...
