Should I Take Prolia Shot?

So, do I take the Prolia shot because I have osteoporosis, high risk for fracture, and higher risk because I just started Arimidex. I have been on Arimidex for one month, and no side effects so far. I don't like what I have been reading about Prolia and I don't want any more issues. I'm 59 still work full time, walk an hour twice a week, and weights on the other days, do the best I can on eating right. I don't want to feel bad and can't work, but I also don't want to end up in a wheel chair,so my husband can take care of me. That's not quality of life! I have an appointment June 26 but going out of town on the 29th don't know what to do?

Hi, Irene!

There have been many complaints about problems with the Prolia shot.

What I would suggest is going in and talking to your doctor about it, discuss the pros and cons, all the possible risks and etc. That way you can make the most informed decision possible.

Have you had hormone testing done? You said your 59, so if you're post menopausal, you are no longer making progesterone and that can increase your risk of such problems, as well. However, supplementing it back can significantly lower your risk, but it's best done with a natural progesterone, rather than the synthetic prescription ones.
