Osteoarthitis

I have asteoarthitis and severe pain in right knee/ I consulted the Orthopedic Surgeon and he advised me to take altraday capsule occasionally whenever I have severe pain or at the time of sitting folding legs. After taking this there will be no pain for three days. I am diabetic and hypertension taking medicines. I am not interested to go for knee replacement as I cannot bear the cost. I am aged 65 years and retired from the service. Kindly advise any medicines without side effects and reducing/curing pain.

I am suffering from knee pain since 2009 and when I contacted the Orthopedic surgeon in this regard he suggested me to to go for knee replacement as it is only solution for coming out of pain. Since I am not interested to go for surgery because of cost on one side and successful surgery on the other side. I opted for ayurveda medicines even homeopathic medicines but of no use. I am doing regular exercises. Inspite of all this, pain has not been subsidized. . One physician suggested that if sugar level comes to normal then the pain will automatically reduce. Taking pain killer also harmful as per the indications given. Please suggest me any alternative system available.
