I live in Jasper, Alabama and have been on methadone for 15 years. It's the only thing that's helped during my chemo or when my ruptured disc are bothering me. The doctor I had just up and left and left all his patients hunting a new doctor. Does anyone know a doctor in or around Jasper or Birmingham that I can see that writes Methadone? ## Really, your best bet is to see a new doctor and make sure they get your medical records, so they can speak for themselves. Asking a doctor to prescribe a specific medication is often seen as being drug seeking behavior. Does anyone else have any suggestions to offer? ## Yeah, I'd definitely move from the deep South as fast as possible. Sorry about the comment Florida sounds like your closest bet to find an outpatient treatment center for...

Can i take klonopin with methadone? This is my first time taking methadone they are 10mg but my klonopin I take about 50mg ## You CAN NOT mix methadone and klonopin !! Not on high doses such as that. It can cause respiratory failure. I could get into the medical explanation of it, yet it would be much more beneficial and correct for you to look it up....the effects of mixing methadone(any opiate really) with klonopin(benzos) Just be safe and research or ASK YOUR DR!!!! ## I have absolutely never ever heard of anyone in my life being on 50 mg of Klonopin. Are u sure that is the dose you take or is that your methadone dose? And u take 10 mg of Klonopin? I currently take 1 mg of Klonopin and I am allowed up to 3 pills a day, so 3 mg a day. I used to be on Valium 5 mg 3 x a day, but I defin...

I no longer want to take this medication since i am no longer having withdrawl symptoms, but the clinic i am currently a attending is telling me that i am not going to be able to cold turkey or start tapering off methadone util i am at eighteen weeks of my pregnancy due to the saftey of my child and possible fetal harm caused by withdrawl stress. I am not entirely convinced that the staff at the clinic im attending is being a hundred percent truthful with me because of rumors floating around about how they staff only wants the money that the people attending bring in. Methadone is actually notoriously hard to stop and most people end up requiring a lifetime maintenance dose of it. What has your doctor advised to help with getting off of it? ## Dear Dan, I use 2 b on 110mg of methadone. When it came time 2 taper down, I did it VERY slowly . Of course I am changing my diet and am exercising more regularly now but still not seeing results. Please help!!!! I've been on methadone liquid now for roughly 3 years, though 60 is the highest ive ever taken, 10 being lowest and it amazes me how strong and powerful this stuff is. I swear i dropped down to 20 and was ready to switch over to subutex, but right at the last minute i bottled it despite my doctor really saying do it, best move you will ever make, but my reasons were i really was so depressed, sweating profoundly, no sleep. Also was coming off a 20 yr valium addiction take away a few yrs in detoxes and rehabs. I'm a londoner uk by the way, nice too meet ya. All good serious website help me. Anyway well instead of swapping over to subs i put my methadone up to 35 then 40 and stopped. Also still dabble with valium and klonopin once a week, stupid really. I gotta gdt off this methad...

I have been on methadone for 10 years and am only 35. I want to come off of it and am trying to find a subutex dr in knoxville tn. Please someone help ## Hello, Traytray35! How are you? Unless there is some medical reason that makes it dangerous for you to take Suboxone, such as being allergic to the Naloxone or pregnant, a doctor is going to want you to go with Suboxone. There is a search engine on the website that you can use to look for doctors in you area that treat with it. Suboxone.com click here, you can search by zip code and their contact information will be included to see if they are accepting new patients. The FDA classifies this medication as being an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side ef...

Hello - this is my 1st post here. I'm posting to see if someone may have an answer to my dilemma. I have been in a state of chronic pain for many years due to a car accident I was involved in as a passenger a long time ago. I have run the gamut of pain meds. Vicodan - Percocet - morphine - demerol, etc. I have found that at the very start - these meds help a lot! Over time, your body's tolerance goes up & you just have to take more and more to get the same relief that you originally got from 1 pill. So for instance - you can go from 1 oxycontin a day to 25 a day eventually, & the 25 won't work as well as the 1 did at the start. I have experienced this with all of these narcotic pain relievers. I do have some brutal pain issues & I finally ended up on methadone. M...

I am 45 years old and on disability. My medicare prescription insurance does not cover generic Suboxone tablets. I just started treatment. I will be taking a quantity of 90 of the 8.2 generic Suboxone tablets. The cheapest cash price I have been able to find is $132 a month. The monthly doctors visit costs $150. I simply can't afford treatment at that price. I would appreciate any coupons that will help lower my monthly prescription costs. ## Hello Tim, Sorry to hear that this unfortunate situation has come upon you. Hopefully I can shed some light on the situation here. There are PAP (prescription assistance programs) for nearly all medications so long as you qualify for them. I will link below a PAP for suboxone that you can contact, we'll start with this website as it seems t...

Both my husband and I have been on methadone for pain mgmt for over 5 yrs. We moved to Marysville, Ca and can't find a doctor that prescribes methadone so we are extending our search area to include Sacramento area doctors. We are both ill from withdraw and after a very tearful conclusion that we had no options but to enroll at the local methadone clinic. we are back home worse than ever as they won't take us because we take it for pain. Of course by now we are completely addicted but because we weren't on it exclusively for addiction they just said good luck and there's the door. PLEASE help. We are self employed and money is not an issue even if we have to pay to see a doctor. ## There is no such thing as a Methadone doctor, that might be what's complicating things...

I have been on Methadone for many years and have complied with Discovery House Treatment Centers. I am now moving to another State. Rather than go to a clinic daily, I would like to find a doctor that is capable of prescribing monthly prescriptions. I am 60 years old and disabled. Is there an easier way to staying clean? Can I get Monthly Prescriptions? Thank You ## Hello, Joseph! How are you? No, a regular doctor cannot prescribe Methadone for addition treatment. That can only be done by those who are specially trained in its use for such, it is illegal for a regular doctor to prescribe it for that. In most clinics, you can earn a few weeks of take homes, but it varies from state to state. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be h...

A friend of my husbands mentioned that he was taking subxone. I was curious as to what it was. He showed one to me but it looks exactly like a generic percocet but has different numbers. They are a round white pill with nothing on one side and on the other are the numbers 54 411. however, the only description i'm finding is oval and orange. Is this suboxone or something else? ## A white circle pill with nothing imprinted on either side is it a generic suboxone? ## There is no generic for Suboxone. Suboxone itself is an orange octagon tablet. It has N8 on one side and what looks like a high cross on the other side. There is a generic for Subutex. It is a white tablet and has 54 411 on one side. The 54 is above the 411. Hope this helps. Instead of relying on people who will take advan...

I've been on MMT for 15 years. Currently my disease is 180 per day. I've been on that or more for 6 years or so. For the past several months I've developed diarrhea with blood in it. It's gotten worse over time, and now there's a lot of blood. Enough to turn the color of the water red, dark red at times. Blood clots, pain in my abdomen, etc. I know I have hemeroids but I think there's something more going on as well. I wonder if the juice is connected to my health problems. And I wonder if anyone else has experienced anything similar? ## Hello Shane. I am terribly sorry to hear about your situation. I very strongly encourage you to see your doctor about this issue if you haven't already. According to the National Institute of Health, one of the common effects...

I have been abusing opiates for the last 5-6 years and I've tried a million times using suboxone to try and get off of it but I just can't bring myself to get sick enough to where I can take it, and the very few times I have it didn't work and made me sicker I'm guessing because my tolerance is so high. I desperately need to find subutex but am hearing from some people that doctors only prescribe suboxone now but I just don't believe it. There has to be a doctor somewhere that will prescribe it, especially since its on the streets! Can anybody please help?! Does anybody at all know a doctor that will prescribe it to me?? I live on Long Island in New York and will travel pretty much anywhere in the state to get it. Please help me!! If you don't feel comfortable po...

MY DOCTOR IN MAINE SAYS HE CAN NO LONGER PRESCRIBE METHADONE FOR PAIN ANYMORE BY LAW BECAUSE IT CAUSE ARISMA TO YOUR HEART. (IS THIS TRUE OR NOT) ## I have to admit that I can't find anything on this, but it is highly possible. For various reasons, many states on the east coast and into the mid-west have been making radical changes to their prescribing laws. Some of them restrict what general practitioners can and cannot prescribe, as well as how long they can prescribe something, how much they can prescribe each month and etc. Learn more Methadone details here. Since he is a licensed medical practitioner, I have to think that your doctor would know what he's talking about. I took two 10mg methadones about eight hours ago for the very first time. Am i okay to take some subutex without there being any serious side effect? ## Probably too late but don't do it. You could get precipitated withdrawals. ## @james, In order to avoid precipitated withdrawal, my findings suggest that it may be a good idea to wait at least 3-5 days or longer before using Subutex, depending on how fast you metabolize Methadone. According to nhtsa.gov, Methadone's half life is reported to be an estimated 60 hours, which means it's probably better to play it safe rather than take any risks within the first 24 hours. But if you really need to use Subutex sooner, I'd encourage you to contact your doctor about getting a second opinion based on their own discretion from exp...

I have been on about three quarters of generic subutex pills per day for over a year now. I ran out of subutex and took 40 mg of methadone the first day and 30 mg the next. I now have my subutex and I am wondering how long I should wait to take it... My husband had done this in the past where he only used the methadone a few days and switched right back to subutex the next day (at least 24 after). I just wanted to see if anyone else has had any experience with this. I do not want to be sick I've been through precipitated withdrawls before. TIA ## Subutex only contains the narcotic Buprenorphine, it doesn't contain the Naloxone that is in Suboxone, which would cause the precipitated withdrawals. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side ef...

I am in a real need for your help. Does anyone know a suboxone doctor who takes HIP 2.0 through M.H.S. in Marion or Jhonson County other than Dr. Michael Deal (recommend that you don't waste your time; too many reasons to list) or Dr. Simon Feung Whiteland doctor (I highly recommend him if you want help, he really cares) I also would like a doctor who cares but first things first any doctors who accept my insurance and are in Marion or Johnson County! Does suboxone show up in laboratory tests? It is urine that the lab tests so will it show up? Please give me an answer as soon as possible. It is really important!!! I'm desperate :( ## It actually depends on what type of test they are using. The regular tests will not detect it, because the Buprenorphine in the Suboxone is a synthetic opiate and they have to use a specific test, which includes the ability to detect it. Tests that are capable of doing so are used by many pain management or drug addiction doctors, but rarely used by your typical employer, because they are more expensive. Are there any other questions or comments? ## i have been taking suboxone for about a year, i am on probation, she gave me a drug test 2 days ago, will it show up on the urine drug test? ## no it wil...
