Anyone know of a dr in yakima wa that prescribes methadone for chronic pain? My dr closed her office do to the economy and I can't find one who will prescribe it. I am trying to cut back on my pain pills (oxycodone #10) that I take 4-5 times daily for my pain. If I take the suboxone later that day and am still hurting, can I take 1 of my oxycodone's and will it work with my pain or will it block it and I would be just wanting it? I started taking suboxone about a year ago. I smoke cannabis and drink the occasional beer but other than that, I am clean from all substances. I have not touched an opiate since (other than my sub, obviously). When I started, I did not want to quit cannabis and I read you can add a bit of sub to the urine. I have been doing this for a year, and it's worked like a charm. A few months ago, I had a false positive result. I figured it was because I added to much sub. I started adding less and went back to passing with no questions raised. I've been on it for a year, have had a test EVERY 1-2 weeks, and have done this every time. took 1 8mg suboxone strip - how long does it stay in urine? ## A Suboxone is not an opiate it's an opiate blocker; therefore I wouldn't judge how long a suboxone stays in your system based on how long opiates stay in your system because it's not an opiate. From what I've heard and read and all the websites I checked it seems the average is as little as 4 but as many as 7 days that it stays in your urine but only 3 days in your saliva. 7 days is a lot, it seemed like the average was 5-6 so I would go with that. Although to be honest the best would be not to do it at all especially if you have to worry about it not being in your urine, which kind of implies that you have something going on where you can't have it in your urine. I have Chronic IBS and acute Chrons disease. I have been taking Vicodin to help control the bouts of diarrhea and severe abdominal pain. My concern is all that Tylenol that comes with Vicodin is damaging my liver, thus more problems. I have tried methadone and it works GREAT and 40mg lasts all day instead of a pill every 4 hrs. What medicines cause false positives for methadone? Victim of false positive for methadone. Test done at Lab Corp. Urine test. On numerous pain meds from neurontin, allege, ibuprofen (all in large doses) to OxyContin, Norco and oxycodone. ## My Physician called me in to his office. a random drug test yielded a positive test for methadone. If you are not taking methadone, how could that be? ## I am not taking methadone however a drug test for a job today showed positive. I do take several medications and take stuff (legal) like nyquil etc all the time what could have made me test positive ?? ## Methadone is a synthetic opiate and it is possible that on a test that isn't done by a certified lab, other substances could cause you to show a false positive for it, including other synthetic or semi-synthetic opiates. Few employers are required to use a certified lab and most of the regular, inexpensive labs do have an error rate that ranges fro 4 to 50%. I am currently in treatment and have been for 3 months. I am allergic to Suboxone but was put on it anyway even though another doctor in the facility personally witnessed my allergy to Suboxone. I also had the same exact reaction to Bunavail. I was taken off my Subutex which I had no problem with and put on something I am allergic to. I've been taking Methadone for over 10 years. Recently I've noticed some days it tastes like the Methadone red and some days tastes like a cherry flavored cough syrup (e.g. Tussionex)? It is normally only detected on tests that are specially made/ordered to detect it. However, as a general rule, most narcotics are detectable in urine for up to 5 days, after taking them, though it can vary slightly, depending on the individual and their own unique factors. I went to pick up my suboxone strips and was given the little white pill instead which I have read is the generic form. I normally take 1/2 strip twice daily and took the entire 8mg. tablet and did not have any of my normal effects from the strips. I then took another tablet a few hours later and still nothing. I read that this form of suboxone does not work and can cause you to go into withdrawal. Is this true? Why isn't it working? What can I do. The pharmacy told me that my insurance only covers the generic form, and not the orange ones or the strips. I'm obviously concerned about this and not sure what I can do. I'm sorry, but a regular doctor can't prescribe Methadone for addiction treatment and, if you were going to an addiction clinic, regardless of why, that's what it is now listed under in your medical records. A regular doctor can only prescribe it for severe pain. Once you've been in a clinic for treatment with it, that is where you have to stay, under the current laws. I don't know what insurance they accept, or what Medicare covers, but you could use the search feature at Suboxone.com to see if there is a doctor in your area that treats with it and call them to see if they accept Medicare. It contains 8mgs of Buprenorphine, and 2mgs of Naloxone.
