Anyone know of a dr in yakima wa that prescribes methadone for chronic pain? My dr closed her office do to the economy and I can't find one who will prescribe it. Any help is much appreciated. ## Don't feel alone! I moved 65 miles from my physician and where I live now, NO doctor here will take me as a patient! They look at my present condition and refuse to accept as a patient! So I have to travel. Is that against the law if you are a doctor taking new patients but refuse to take me as their patient? It makes me angry and lost. ## Hello! I'm very sorry about the problems that you both have had. Now, the first issue may be due to looking for a doctor that will prescribe Methadone. Most doctors are going to view that as being drug seeking behavior and not even let you get in ...

My name is AJ. I've been taking 8mg subutex ( not suboxone) for two weeks. I start the methadone clinic in 5 days. How long should I be off subutex to start methadone? And if I still have subs in my system will I go into precipitated withdraws? ## Hi AJ, It looks like this question has already been asked/answered in several other discussion threads here, so what I'm doing is just linking you to the thread that I feel addresses this inquiry most accurately: Discuss/SETTING-RECORD-STRAIGHT-how-long-after-taking-subutex-can-u-take-methadone-280366.htm This social worker from a pain management clinic goes on to state that patients should wait 12 to 24 hours after Subutex before having Methadone in order to avoid precipitated withdrawals; due to the presence of Buprenorphine, which k...

It's been a bout 80 hrs since I took Methadone fir a week straight. I've been on Subutex for 2 yrs. I just wanna feel better. I have 3 kids and a job. Please help me. When will my Subutex work again ## Hi Evam, Sorry to hear about your situation. I realize it's been over a month since you posted this. How are you feeling now? Much better I hope!? Anyhow, according to MedsChat's half-life calculator, methadone has an average half-life of 37.5 (roughly three days). I've also heard from some medical professionals that it may take up to five half-life cycles for a medication to be completely out of your system ['hair' probably being an exception]. So 37.5 x 5 half-life's = 187.5 hours (or about a weeks time). I think it's always a good idea to double chec...

I am trying to cut back on my pain pills (oxycodone #10) that I take 4-5 times daily for my pain. If I take the suboxone later that day and am still hurting, can I take 1 of my oxycodone's and will it work with my pain or will it block it and I would be just wanting it? Please help me if anyone knows the answer. ## The Naloxone in the Suboxone will block it from working. The Suboxone takes a very strong hold on the opiate receptors in your brain and tends to kick out other opiates, which could also result in dangerous precipitated withdrawals. I have recently moved to the Harrisburg, PA area and need to find a doctor here to continue my suboxone treatment. Does anyone know a doctor taking new patients?? ## Hello, Cheryl! How are you? There is a search feature on the website, Suboxone.com click here that will help you find a doctor in your new area. It provides their contact information, so you can call to see which ones are accepting new patients. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I started taking suboxone about a year ago. I smoke cannabis and drink the occasional beer but other than that, I am clean from all substances. I have not touched an opiate since (other than my sub, obviously). When I started, I did not want to quit cannabis and I read you can add a bit of sub to the urine. I have been doing this for a year, and it's worked like a charm. A few months ago, I had a false positive result. I figured it was because I added to much sub. I started adding less and went back to passing with no questions raised. I've been on it for a year, have had a test EVERY 1-2 weeks, and have done this every time. Every time just about, it's worked fine. Today I met with my doctor and he told me he was concerned because my urine was showing bupe, but not norbuphe...

took 1 8mg suboxone strip - how long does it stay in urine? ## A Suboxone is not an opiate it's an opiate blocker; therefore I wouldn't judge how long a suboxone stays in your system based on how long opiates stay in your system because it's not an opiate. From what I've heard and read and all the websites I checked it seems the average is as little as 4 but as many as 7 days that it stays in your urine but only 3 days in your saliva. 7 days is a lot, it seemed like the average was 5-6 so I would go with that. Although to be honest the best would be not to do it at all especially if you have to worry about it not being in your urine, which kind of implies that you have something going on where you can't have it in your urine. So stay away from it all until you are ab...

I have Chronic IBS and acute Chrons disease. I have been taking Vicodin to help control the bouts of diarrhea and severe abdominal pain. My concern is all that Tylenol that comes with Vicodin is damaging my liver, thus more problems. I have tried methadone and it works GREAT and 40mg lasts all day instead of a pill every 4 hrs. I need a doctor in or around the St. Louis area that can and will prescribe methadone for pain management. I have no insurance, preferably a doctor who will accept cash patients that is not to costly. Who and where are they in this area? Thank You Anyone ## Hi, Stacey! How are you? There are actually a couple of problems that you're going to run into. The first will be the fact that you're a cash patient. Many doctors will not prescribe controlled substan...

a random drug test yielded a positive test for methadone. If you are not taking methadone, how could that be? ## I am not taking methadone however a drug test for a job today showed positive. I do take several medications and take stuff (legal) like nyquil etc all the time what could have made me test positive ?? ## Methadone is a synthetic opiate and it is possible that on a test that isn't done by a certified lab, other substances could cause you to show a false positive for it, including other synthetic or semi-synthetic opiates. Few employers are required to use a certified lab and most of the regular, inexpensive labs do have an error rate that ranges fro 4 to 50%. Sharron, in your case, it could have been the NyQuil, as it has been known to cause a false positive for Methadone...

I am currently in treatment and have been for 3 months. I am allergic to Suboxone but was put on it anyway even though another doctor in the facility personally witnessed my allergy to Suboxone. I also had the same exact reaction to Bunavail. I was taken off my Subutex which I had no problem with and put on something I am allergic to. I do NOT wish to continue seeing a doctor willing to risk my life because they are that afraid of the DEA. I am seeking a doctor or treatment facility within an hour drive of Kingwood WV in Preston County that WILL prescribe something that is Naloxone FREE. I prefer Subutex but I read somewhere that Bunavail comes in a form that is free of Naloxone, which I am willing to try. No Methadone PLEASE. ## Hi, I hope you have found a doctor by now. I've been taking Methadone for over 10 years. Recently I've noticed some days it tastes like the Methadone red and some days tastes like a cherry flavored cough syrup (e.g. Tussionex)? Could the nurses be tampering with my medication? I'm sick of all the clinic's B.S. ......In Philadelphia...A.M.H.A. ## Is it still working for you, regardless of the flavor? If so, then I doubt anyone is tampering with it. They may just use different flavoring sometimes. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? I know not everyone receives red Methadone liquids.

hey, i took approximately 1 mg of suboxone on wednesday, now its friday, when will i be safe to leave an urine test? would be verry happy for a fast answer. peace, and thanks! ## Suboxone contains the active ingredients Buprenorphine and Naloxone and, while the Buprenorphine is an opioid narcotic, it is not something that is generally detected on standard drug testing. It is normally only detected on tests that are specially made/ordered to detect it. However, as a general rule, most narcotics are detectable in urine for up to 5 days, after taking them, though it can vary slightly, depending on the individual and their own unique factors. Are there any other questions or comments? ## It won't show I promise. I have been testing for years for the courts, the government, power plants ...

I went to pick up my suboxone strips and was given the little white pill instead which I have read is the generic form. I normally take 1/2 strip twice daily and took the entire 8mg. tablet and did not have any of my normal effects from the strips. I then took another tablet a few hours later and still nothing. I read that this form of suboxone does not work and can cause you to go into withdrawal. Is this true? Why isn't it working? What can I do. The pharmacy told me that my insurance only covers the generic form, and not the orange ones or the strips. I'm obviously concerned about this and not sure what I can do. Any feedback would be appreciated. ## What are the markings on the tablet in question? Can you please post back and clarify? What effects are you expecting it to cau...

was getting methadone at a clinic but got medacare and cant go back they don't take madacare need to find new doctor in reno nv ## Hi, Andrew! How are you? I'm sorry, but a regular doctor can't prescribe Methadone for addiction treatment and, if you were going to an addiction clinic, regardless of why, that's what it is now listed under in your medical records. A regular doctor can only prescribe it for severe pain. Once you've been in a clinic for treatment with it, that is where you have to stay, under the current laws.
