I have taken opiates lately, and as an addict it is hard not to go for whatever you can get your hands on to make the withdrawals go away. I had a setback and took 150 mg vyvanse, and of course got the energy I was wanting, but now I can not get to sleep. When I lay down I am wide awake, which I'm assuming is from the vyvanse, but I can feel my withdrawal symptoms from the opiates. I have 10 mg of methadone to help me but I'm afraid to take it with the vyvanse. Can I take them together? Will it take away my withdrawal symptoms will either one cancel the other out? With the vyvanse feeling go away? ## I am taking 100mg of methadone and 70 MG of Vyvanse will taking the two together work like they are suppose to you get the relaxed feeling from the methadone but also be a little mo...

Hello. I'm on zubsolv, but have been dealing with a panic disorder for almost a year now and it's getting worse. I'm having them everyday all day and i was wondering if you are monitored by the doctor will they prescrible you a low dose of any kind of benzodiazpine? ## If the doctor knows you're an addict the doctor who is supposed to prescribe the benzos won't give them to you because it's addicting. At least that's what my psych doctor told me. She said I'm not allowed to give you anything addicting that people feel high off of. ## Some doctors will, and some won't, it really depends on their preferences, and how often they are monitoring you. As Dana stated, some will not prescribe another possibly addictive medication, such as a benzodiazepine, wh...

I'm from Savannah, GA and cannot find a pharmacy that has the 54 411 subutex. I had one pharmacy but the past few times I've been there they have been out. I can only do the big white ones, (but prefer the 54 411's), not the little ones. Does anyone know what pharmacies have them around here? Thanks. ## Unfortunately, there is no way to know which pharmacy carries any given product from any manufacturer, since it can vary depending on who was offering the cheapest price through their distributor, at the time they needed to restock their supply. Thus, the only thing you can really do is keep checking back with various pharmacies, there might be one that can order it for you. What problem do you have with the other ones? Subutex is an opioid, so it carries the risk of being ha...

I was started on Suboxone strips and paid out of pocket first week. Found out that ins will pay for Suboxone but I have to start with the pills and a pre-auth. So I pick up the generic pills, same dose as strips were and they aren't nearly as strong... Feeling a lot of cravings and w/d's and needed to take more to keep them at bay. The only way ins will pay for strips is if I have some sort of problem taking the pills.... What can I say to the Dr so he will switch my pre-auth to the strips? Called pharmacy and he said if you go from strips to pills you may need to increase your dose by 35% to get the results as you got from strips... Can anyone please help? ## Hi. The answer to ur question: what kind of insurance do u have? I know most ins including Medicaid will pay for strips ...

Suboxone, more specifically Buprenorphine hcl/Naloxone hcl was never intended for chronic use or maintenance purposes. I am on the board of directors of a substance abuse treatment organization in upstate New York. We have several facilities at all stages of the continuum of care. Here is New York state, as in many states throughout the country, there is a consistent, persistent rise in clients requiring treatment for Suboxone dependency and Suboxone addiction. When used in its intended manner, which is for supervised medical detoxification only Suboxone presents very little risk of inducing drug seeking behavior, and only a mild risk of tolerance and dependency. It is to be used only in progressed opiate dependency and intended to be started 24-48 hours after the last agonist dose, and...

I was prescribed opiate painkillers for 5 years. I gradually became totally addicted to the point that while these drugs ( Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Oxycontin and others) worked well for their intended purpose, the 'good feeling" they gave me became the focal point of my life. The unavoidable physical and psychological dependence eventually led to serious and harmful consequences- damaged or ruined relationships (divorce in my case) with people who were now less important than the drugs. Responsibilities and interests I had fell by the wayside. Although I have a legitimate need for pain relief due to nerve damage caused by disease, the doctor saw that I was abusing the drugs- taking too much and using them to get high- and cut me off. The withdrawal symptoms were horrific. I went ...

That information might enable someone to suggest a good doctor, if they know of one. I really need a doctor that prescribes Methadone in Evans or Martinez, Ga which is close to Augusta, GA. Will someone please help me ASAP?!! ## Have you been able to find a doctor to write your medicine in that area? I also just moved here. ## There is no such a thing as a Methadone doctor. Technically, any doctor with a license to practice medicine can prescribe it, but most are reluctant to do so, due to its highly addictive nature, and because it is so frequently abused. Additionally, as you can read here on the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Website, if it is required for addiction treatment, or for someone in maintenance from a former addiction, it can only be given in a clinical setting under the supervision of someone specially trained in its use for such conditions. ...

Are they scorn in different places on the back side of the pill? ## Hello, Jimbo! How are you? I'm sorry, but I am not quite sure what you mean, could you please post back and clarify? Thank you! Do you mean that score is sometimes horizontal and sometimes vertical? Or that it sometimes seems to be off center? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## I mean, is there a quality different manufactures, or companies that print their own label or number in the tablet, whether round, or rectangle shape pill. is it one better than the other chemical make up of the pills?

Good morning everyone. I'm taking Subutex I've been on it for about 6 months now. I'm 62 years old and I'm doing great on the Subutex except at my age I do have severe pain. I'm going to ask my doctor when I go back next month is there anything you can take for pain that will work with the Subutex? I don't mean Tylenol or Ibuprofen because it just doesn't work. Any suggestions you kind people. Thank you have a great day. Just hurting. ## I'm sorry, but there are no opiates that will work with Subutex. By its very nature, the Buprenorphine in it latches onto your opiate receptors, and takes a stronger hold than all other available opiates, that is one of the ways it helps prevent people from still abusing them, while undergoing treatment with it. However, ...

I want a medication that gives me everything I need to stay off opiates. I want to quit. ## Hello, Laura! How are you? You will need to go to a Methadone clinic, private practice doctors aren't allowed to prescribe it for addiction treatment. Are there any clinics in your area? The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## She needs to go to AA/NA meetings, treating one drug with another "legal" drug is not the answer. ## Hi Laura. How do we take addnok so that its effect lasts longer and stronger? ## Addnok is listed as containing the active ingredient Buprenorphine, so it should only be taken according to your doctor's instructions. I ran out of subutex last night - can I take suboxone today? ## Hi Ash, Based on my research, there are no drug interactions listed between Subutex and Suboxone. So with that being said, I wouldn't anticipate having any problems when switching between one or the other. Also, because Subutex contains the same active ingredient "Buprenorphine", taking the two meds together or within a short a time frame of one another would also be similar to just having an higher dose of Suboxone. Is your doctor also aware that you're taking both medications? ## Have only four 8 strips Suboxone to last until January 21st! I currently take 12 mgs day. Reason Im short? I have been on methadone for about 10 yrs. I hate how people treat you, the stigma, but the workers and so called nurses should treat you with some level of respect and not a junkie. Methadone maintenance really worked well for me, in 27 years no relapses, turned my life around! Now I'm ready to put it all behind me, and methadone is so hyper controlled now. Had my last methadone dose of 27mg yesterday at 8:30am, plan to switch to subutex tomorrow. SO scared of withdrawal of any kind. Can you give me some positive encouragement?? ## There is information on the various treatment options on the NIH website. Did you doctor tell you to start taking it that soon? You can't start Subutex too soon, because doing so could cause you to go into dangerous precipitated withdrawals, you have to be in full withdrawal, before taking it. Have you started taking it, yet?
