I am a 45 yr old female who has chronic pain. 18 yrs ago I was an addict ans was on methadone treatment for 7 yrs in seattle. I moved to Idaho and detoxed off my program for 3+yrs. I had back surgery and was prescribed meds that unfortunatly gave me some physical addiction. I asked my family doc for methadone for pain and explained my past. He prescribed to me for 2 yrs and refered me to a pain clinic due to pain issues and the pain doc discontinued my methadone and used dillaudid. Hello my name is Maggie and I sent this same question yesterday and got no response. Can someone please help me. I have been on opana 10mg for the past year. This month while in the process of moving someone took some of my meds leaving me short. My friend gave me a subutex tablet which is the 8 mg. today being the 31st and I have to see my pain doctor on the fourth will the subutex show up in my system or is there a special test they have to do to test for the subutex. I don't want to mess things up with my pain doctor but I have to have something to help me with the withdrawals. Can someone please help me and tell me if I will be ok? ## The medication in the subutex WILL show up if the special test for it at lab is requested

Hi, my story in a nutshell, I caught a major and rare infection a few years ago and almost died. Lost a lot of tissue on foot and ankle and causes pain every day. Got home after a couple months in hospital, slipped and fell, broke my hip. After several orthopedic surgeries to try to fix the broken hip they finally did a full hip replacement. Lots of bone surgeries means lots of pain pills. I switched to a pain management doc cuz ortho was writing huge percoset scrips and we were worried about the acetaminophen/liver damage. This has been going of for so long now. I found that the only recouse we have is to complain to your State Board of Pharmacy. Every state has one. Its the pharmacies that are withholding. Not the DEA. The DEA does NOT put any amounts on the pharms either. Maybe their distributor does, but not the DEA. In this thread, im hoping to find, hear feedback regarding current pharmacist behaviour and excuses and what they say to you about your medicine. Please help. Been addicted to oxys for five years. .cold turkeyed and wound uphospitalized. Suggested methadone. It works for me I haven't had insurance for years n haven't seen doc in over ten. I have good job now with benefits and need help with finding a doc who will prescribe methadone. Hi Everyone, I recently had around 15 of my films stolen. I do not know when it happened but there were other meds stolen too, I was told by a friend to go to the police and notify all my Doctors. When it came to the Suboxone Dr., I was told by reception that he would not replace them and they are going to either give me a warning or release me!. I did not ask to be resupplied because there is a huge sign that medicine will not be replaced. I was acting on courtesy and the police told me I should contact the prescribers for all the prescription meds. Is your doctor aware that you're stopping this medication? Please be careful, especially if you're going cold turkey, there can be a slight risk of seizures from the withdrawal, especially if you were on a very high dosage. Just to let you know, you're not alone going through this. Many of people have gone through this including myself. I was on 110mgs of methadone and tapered down to 24mgs. I was on methadone due to pain and addiction issues. My problem was when I got down to 24mgs I was going through some pretty bad withdrawals. My doctor prescribed me suboxone to help with the withdrawals. The main thing is to taper VERY slowly so you feel the least bit of withdrawals. Methadone is a very strong medication and some people require a life time maintenance dose. I hope everything works out for you. You've come so far. Any other question...

I want to taper off after ten years on suboxone. I've never taken more than 4 mg/day and I'm currently at .5 mg/day and struggling. Had no problem getting from 4 mg down to 1, but it's gotten harder recently as I've gone down from 1 to .5. Everything I'm reading makes me want to give up before going any further. Years ago I was able to taper off oxy little by little until I barely noticed the final step to zero. I've heard that's not possible with sub and that I'm going to feel terrible for a long time no matter how slow I go. I have enough of the 2 mg films to last almost a year at .5 mg/day. Dear doctor, I'm on suboxone and I had a glass and a half of wine. I was wondering if alcohol adheres to suboxone. I have a urine test in 10 days, will the wine be out of my system? I know you're not suppose to drink alcohol on suboxone but it was a one time thing.

I went through withdrawls, got some suboxone and then was unable to work to make a living laid around all day, my doctor finally called a small pharmacy that was cash, but it was only $300 instead of $1,200. I think if you get all your prescriptions and families prescriptions with walgreens, after a while they will refill small amounts for 75 to 90 oxy's or percoset, work your way in slow and it will be mailorder and may have to be insurance,. hydrocodne will be there next target. Moved to western North Dakota from East Coast. Have been prescribed methadone for 15+ years to treat legitimate pain. Have taken same dose for last 8 years; (100mg/day). If anyone lives in this area if the country and might have a name for me, it would certainly help as I search for a physician. I have my records for every year of pain treatment, including tri annual drug panels (always + for proper med/dose), all Rx records with same pharmacy, and haven't ever needed script filled early, I take meds exactly as prescribed, and just want to create a positive relationship with a new physician who can see that I am a trustworthy patient and just want treatment for my pain. the first time i ever took a suboxone it was the pill forum... i took a very small piece one early morning then like 6 hours later took the same amount piece i did that morning and like 20 min later i was throwing up, face was pale, felt like i couldnt breath, was very uncomfortable.. lasted for about 45 minutes then went away??? ## Hello, Casey! And since it still contains a very potent narcotic, it could make you sick, itself, as a side effect.
