Does not help my pain at all! I have been very sick and almost had to go to hospital due to severe nausea and upset stomach with leg cramps and am extremely weak!! Have been taking Dramamine and Imodium to help! I have degenerative disc disease, two spinal surgeries, fibromyalgia, neuropothy of feet, osteoporosis, etc. Have never requested a prescription early in 18 years!!! I am at a total loss!!! Would appreciate any suggestions as what to do!! I am 65years old and have been totally disabled 18years! Worked 30 years before injury!!! Live in Miss. Have been widowed 11 years! Not on...

UpdatedIs there any company anywhere still manufacturing the old YELLOW Norco? (10/325 Hydrocodone Acetaminophen - formerly available by prescription from Activis/Watson.) It was suggested that a Canadian Pharmacy might still have this medicine available. It will be a year in August. When the color changed, so did my life. The side effects are horrific. Chronic pain sufferers have been lumped together with abusers. When I asked what, if any of the inactive ingredients had been changed, I was told "that's proprietary" Considering that every seed in a loaf of bread must be identified and labeled?? So, my second question- Is there any way to force the release of this information? I am not interested in litigation - takes forever. Just want to know what has changed! ## Hello, Ann! How ...

UpdatedMy doctor recently changed my prescription from 5 / 200 vicoprofen to norco 7.5 / 325. I have one pill left of my 5 / 200 vicoprofen. Is it okay if I take it with a norco 7.5 / 325 for breakthrough pain relief? ## Hello, Azaxel! How are you? No, it would be best to just switch cleanly from one to the other, since they both contain Acetaminophen, unless your doctor has instructed otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I take Norco 7.5's three times a day for Crohn's disease the constipation is wonderful for me!! I worry about the Tylenol, is there something safer, but effective and with the side effect of constipation? ## Hello, Yankee! How are you? Yes, there are many opiates available that might work for you, but don't include Tylenol/Acetaminophen. Some examples are Tramadol, Oxycodone, Morphine and Codeine. You could try asking your doctor about switching. The FDA classifies these medications as narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and you may also experience other side effects, such as nausea, dizziness and headache. Is there anything else I can help with?
THE 853 NORCO DOES NOT HELP MY PAIN AS WELL AS THE YELLOW TINTED ONES. PLUS THEY UPED THE PRICE DOUBLE. ## I used CVS for my prescriptions until last month, when I tried Walgreens to fill my script for Norco 10/325. When I saw they were white instead of yellow I thought I was given the 5/500 strength in error, since I knew those are white. I called Walgreens and was assured these Watson 853's were the exact same ingredients as the Norco 10/325. After taking my usual dosage, I was shocked to feel almost no relief....maybe 10% relief. After this happened, i went on the internet and read about others who had the same bad experience. Today when I got my new script I went back to Walgreens and told the pharmacy I wanted the other generic, NOT the Watson 853. They said that's the only...
Differences In these two meds ## Hello, Shellie! How are you? Originally, the difference between these brands was the dosage, however, due to the changes which have been made to the amount of Acetaminophen they can use in them, that is no longer true. It is really best to just consider them all to be the same, they contain varying doses of Hydrocodone with 325mgs of Acetaminophen, though there are rare cases where the Acetaminophen may be lower. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I haven't been able to fill my Norco 10/325's for over a week now. I started at my RiteAid pharmecy and waiting a week. Now I am out and I have called other local RiteAid pharmecies and Safeway pharmecies and they are all out, don't know when they will get more AND claim they get a little at a time. Anyone else having this problem? ## Hello, Delia! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. However, if you're calling pharmacies, you're not going to get an accurate answer. They have no way of knowing if the person on the other end of the phone is a legitimate patient with a need, or a potential thief, so they will typically give such excuses. To get an accurate answer, you'll need to physically go to the pharmacies, with your prescription...
Hello, I'm having a problem getting my Norco 7.5 filled. I've had 7 surgeries since October removing staph infection absess. These are very bad absess. Usually over 4 inches deep and about that length and all over my body. My doctor has been prescribing them to me because the incisions have to be packed by my home health nurse or the doctor, which severely painful. I just was released from the hospital after having another surgery and he gave me a new prescription because I'm supposed to take them before anyone touches near the incision, so that I don't let the pain become unbearable. This is causing me to run out earlier than some people. The deal is I suffer from seizures and blackouts and if my blood pressure goes very high from the pain I can and have either a seizur...
Norco is the brand name by Watson for 10mg Hydrocodone and 325mg of acetaminophen, they also make the generic. Norco is yellow in color and caplet shaped.Originally it was only 10mg, now it's 7.5 and 5, hydrocodone and the same Tylenol in all. Has no codiene in it. Hydrocodone is a semi synthetic drug, a ketone of codeine and is 8 times stronger than codiene, mg to mg.has a more sedative effect and has a half life of 3.8 hrs compared to codiene's 2.5 hrs. ## I've been taking Norco, 10-325, for over fifteen years on an occasional basis because of back pain due to auto accidents, surgeries. I take the same ammount now as fifteen years ago. I alternate between Norco, and Tylenol - also on an occasional basis, so I don't develop a tolerance to N. and have to increase the dos...
I have been on norco 10-325 for 5 years and take 2 to 5 per day. What would be a good schedule to us to taper off and quit using it. I have heard that cold turkey may not be the best way to do it. ## Hello, Steve! How are you? Cold turkey could result in your experiencing withdrawal symptoms, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, fever, chills, depression, anxiety and rebound pain, so yes, a slow taper is best. There's no specific taper schedule that always works for everyone, however, in most cases, the preferred method is to have someone starting spacing their doses farther apart, while gradually taking less and less, usually a change is made every week or two. Have you consulted your doctor? They should be able to help you set up an appropriate an...
I have been prescribed Norco by my dentist. I haven't taken anything else but when I took a home 12 panel it tested positive for oxy? Why? I haven't taken anything but the Norco and an antibiotic. I have a drug test tomorrow for work and worried why it says positive for oxy and negative for opioids.
UpdatedI am perscribed norco 10/325, i have some lorcet 10/650, can a lab urine test tell the difference if i take them, and will they tell the difference in tylenol amounts to ,thanks ## Be upfront about what you are doing. You risk a LOT by telling you doc one thing and have your lab tests say something else. Always assume the tests can tell EXACTLY what you have taken and how much. Lab tests today are very precise and very accurate. If it comes down to it, the doctor will trust the lab results over your word.
I just refilled my rx with brand name Norco 10/325 and they are white and are not effective. The generic yellows worked perfectly to relieve the chronic pain I have in my c2 and c4 areas of my neck. Severe stenosis with other conditions make everyday stuff undoable. I have tried 4 different types of generics and 2 gave me a headache every time I took them? So what did the yellow dye do to help in the delivery of this drug? ## Hello, Marcus! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're experiencing. It actually doesn't have anything to do with the dye, it has to due with the nature of generics. Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, they are allowed to differ from the name brand, in the amount of the active ingredient, by as much as plus or minus 20%, they also don't hav...
I have chronic neck and back pain and fibromyalgia. My doctors a re giving me a hard time giving me norco for my pain. It doesn't make me high. I am not a silly kid looking for that. It is the only thing that kills the pain. I am still on lamictal and lyrica and a bunch of other vitamins. But I can only function in my daily life without pain if I take 2 norco a day, it is so hard for me to cook, clean, laundry and grocery shop while taking care of my 3 little girls with all of the pain I get. Some mornings it takes me a half hour to physically get out of bed. I am tired of being treated like I don't know my own body and like a drug seeker. I hate my girls seeing me this way. I need a doc who will prescribe norco for me. I have all of the data and records. Sorry for the long rant...
Can anyone tell me and fast is the medication that has a U03 white oblong pill with a line down the back on it, does the 3 have a straight line on the top of the 3 like a Z or is it round like a normal 3? can anybody tell me that this is in Norco 325 I've only been able to get two pictures of it in one show is one that looks like a bee and one shows one that's on normal 3 so I would like to know if I'm taking the correct medication? Thank you! ## Hello, Henry! How are you? These tablets are manufactured by Aurolife Pharma and in the images they provide, the top of the 3 should be angular, similar to a Z and the bottom is more rounded. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as na...
I have been on 10mg of hydrocodone (ie Norco etc) since 1995 since my back surg/disc disease. now my DR. is retiring and says I don't know where you can go. I am on Medicaid but my family said they could help with cash visits as long as it was not over 300.00 month. I don't know what to do. They just leave u hanging. I live in Loranger la. Can anyone give me info or a name of a DR. to go to for chronic back pain? I want to be able to play with my grandchildren and just live life without so much pain. I was taking 10mg. 3x daily. Should be on more (which I was) but dea or something happened. Need a DR. within 50 miles or so from New Orleans, LA.Thanks for the help. Anyone??
UpdatedI recently went to a pharmacy to fill a prescription for Norco and the pharmacist called a different pharmacy across the street and shared information about the meds I have filled recently. It was a different pharmacy chain but it is a small town in PA. Is this legal? ## What was the purpose of his call? That's really what it all boils down to. If you were also getting medications filled at the other pharmacy and he valid reason to check on what you had prescribed previously, then no it isn't illegal. Most pharmacies use computer systems that do this very same thing, but some of the smaller ones don't have access to the large databases. If he had reason to believe that you may not have been up front with him about everything you are taking, or you said you didn't remembe...
I have been on Norco 10/325mg 4x a day since 2009 due to a lower back injury and cyst on my ovaries. My doctor unfortunately lost his battle with an aggressive cancer and died. Since his death the office has been closed down with all my records inside. I have tried to get in contact with someone from the office, but with no success. I would have my test all redone if possible, but I currently do not have medical insurance. Can or does anyone know a doctor who can help me in the NJ/NYC area? Thank you.
