I'm a 45 years old female. I diagnosed with UTI since 2013. I keep a helpful eating habits and do lifestyle changes, but I don't know why it recurs repeatedly. It's said cranberry juice can help to prevent a uti, so I drink it every day but it's useless. Can recurring uti be cured completely? I'm so worried about this condition. I was prescribed Macrodantin to treat my UTI. Twice daily for five days. About two days after I competed the antibiotics, I started to itch everywhere, especially my hands and feet. They feel like the after effects of mosquito or ant bites. It's been four days and I'm still itching. The more I scratch, the more swollen it gets. 50mg of Benadryl helps me sleep through the night but I wake up with the effects the next morning. Aloe Vera helps for a few minutes. Hi I just started this medicine today for a UTI. Only took it twice. I feel nausea, my whole body aches like crazy like I have the flu. I'm running a fever, got chills, my stomach is cramping. Just finished Macrobid after two weeks I have rashes all over my legs and back. Should I take Benadryl ? The rashes are painful, my joints hurt so much (I have RA)but my joints are very painful. i was perscribe nitrofurantoin for two and a half weeks. During all this period i suffered of leg muscle cramps, nausia, and general bad feeling. A day after I finished taking the medication, I had palpitations with heartbeat of 175 per minute. ive got a uti had it for a week now but not felt too bad, but to the drs Thursday for some antibiotics she gave me nitrofurantion 4 50mg daily for 7 days soon as I started taking them I felt ill... Really bad fatigue to the point I want to sleep all day headaches acid feeling sick & achy muscles just wondering when this will stop I feel 10 times worse then before I started taking them. ## Hello, Jade! May i take it for a UTI? It expired 2014. ## Unless a specific bacteria is detected that can be treated by this medication, it is not usually the preferred on to treat a UTI. The one normally used most often is Nitrofurantoin, so it would be best to see your doctor and let them prescribe an appropriate antibiotic. Hi I am currently taking macrodantin but since I have started taking it I have severe itching problems. Is this normal? ## I have had severe itching as well and was wondering if it was a side effect of the antibiotic. I have been put on this antibiotic for a suspected uti infection. Since taking it I have started to have a light period. This is unusual for me as I take cerezette and haven't had a bleed for years, can this happen? Anyone else had this? I've been taking 50mg for 4 days now with little improvement for a kidney infection. I intend upping my dosage to 100mg for the next 3 days. I am taking 100mg every 12 hrs for 7 days, i have only taken two pills, but am starting to develop a skin rash. Should i be worried?
