In this case, it depends on the type of bacteria that have caused the UTI. In many cases, the preferred antibiotic to treat them is Nitrofurantoin, so it would be best to have it checked out to be sure.
The FDA lists the typical antibiotic side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
