Husband having some chest pain, can he take a nitro?

If it has been prescribed for him to treat chest pain, then yes, he should take it as directed.

However, if it has not been prescribed for him and he has not been diagnosed with a condition that requires it, he should seek medical attention. Chest pain is not something worth taking a chance with. Last year, my brother tried to play it off as being bad heartburn or GERD, so he waited 3 days to go to the hospital and discovered that he'd had a heart attack.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness and headache.
