Nexletol Side Effects And Experiences
UpdatedMy doctor has tried me on several statins and I can't take them. She is trying me on Nexletol. I guess I would like to know others experiences with this drug. How bad were the side effects? How long do they last?
I am 67.
I tore the tendons in one foot that have healed. Will this effect that?
Just general experiences that you might have had.

Another one I can't take. I stopped after a week because it was making my asthma worse. I had to go back to my rescue inhaler. A day or two after stopping the Nexletol, my asthma improved.
I am very sorry to hear about what you went through.
It likely wasn't a good choice for you, anyway, due to the fact that you've already torn tendons. Nexetol does come with an FDA warning about it increasing the risk of tendon injury, or rupture in people over 60 years of age, and in those who've had prior tendon injuries.

Other side effects may include gout, headache, nausea, joint pain, anemia, and bronchitis.
How are you feeling, now?
Have you tried a diet, and exercise approach to lowering your cholesterol?
Re: VerFree (# 2)
I think my doctor was anxious about me taking something since I haven't been able to take anything before.
My LDL is 153 but my HDL is 62. My triglycerides are normal. I have my arteries scanned every three years and they are clear. My BP stays around 110/70. I'm 67. My only med is for hypothyroidism so I'm very healthy. My cholesterol is the genetic type. I'm not overweight.
The actual reason I had to stop was because my asthma got bad. It's never bad unless I have bronchitis or some other respiratory issue, so it had to be the Nexletol. After stopping that, it got better.
It looks like I'm stuck with diet and exercise for the high LDL.
I am on week 4 of the drug. I can't diet my way out of 300+ numbers and have been through most statins and a few other drugs for the past 20 years. I am 62 years old, healthy, very active, no other Dxs. 20 pounds overweight now, but not always. I have tried EVERYTHING for years. Have injured my tendons in my past but not due to any tendon disease....so I am not worried about that. So far, so good. No problems. Will see what happens when we recheck in 2 months.
Re: Paula (# 4)
Good luck and I hope you can take it. The tendons in my ankle and foot are finally healing after almost 4 years so hopefully I can become more active like I was before I fell on it. I'm so afraid of a lot of meds and if I can get it down with diet and activity, I'd rather do that.
I hope it works for you!
