Need Help Finding A Doctor To Prescribe Me Xanax (Page 37) (Top voted first)

Please give me a list of doctors that will prescribe me xanax? I have bad anxiety.

At the risk of sounding elitist, a proper Ddx and Tx plan should be determined by a Board-certified psychiatrist. You make it sound as if I've never treated PAD or GAD...and that's wrong. I just follow the "reasonable and customary criteria" for prescribing and I'm not locked into writing for benzos. You don't want to waste to much time? Tough. You'll get over it.

I really thought this site was to share our personal experiences and in doing such maybe help someone or point them in the right direction. Do you all really think you are going to get a list of doctors who will prescribe what you think you need. If it has been a life long problem then #1 Take some action you are responsible for you !!! If you do manage to get someone to give you the name of a DR, what are you gonna say. Oh by the way Doc I got your name off a site that has countless people that are getting their drug of choice so I will take some Valium and maybe some oxys and yeah and can you throw in some xanax too. I have all the empathy in the world for addicts and people who suffer anxiety issues and I am not judging you, But get a grip. Get a work up from a good shrink or an good family practitioner get some documentation and go from there. The DEA is much too tough today. With the technology that is out there all pharmacies are connected and the doctor's are closely monitored so get your process started and good luck to you.

@sick and tried: Can you imagine my reaction to a 'patient" who came in and asked for "blue footballs." I technically supervise our hospitals' Drug Tx and Ed Program, but I'm not on the staff. Only rarely do I intervene (a colleague's kid. for example, especially a colleague who is a good friend and I don't run roughshod over DTEC's protocols; I just share my own experience and provide the kid with more intensive therapy.) As for the blue football players, I'd send them to Detox. I take suggestions, but not from addict about the meds they "need".

With 25 years of CLINICAL PRACTICE and physician supervision behind me, DON'T KNOW WHAT THESE PEOPLE ARE GOING THROUGH! I went though it myself, asshat! It was accidental (as Rx addiction was back in the day among why social class) but it still happened and I did receive NON-12 STEP tx. Don't tell me what I know or don't know! The solution to drug addiction is not to prescribe more or slightly modified addictive agents any more than the problem of insomnia is caused by a lack of sleeping pills!

@Greg I usually do not reply to arrogant a**holes who assume I have no idea what folks are going through but ya pissed me off and now you can own it. I have been through more cold turkeys from almost every narcotic out there. I could fill these pages with my war stories. I have empathy for every addict and yeah you are an addict if you are on here looking for a DR. And as for DR Joey the guy knows his s***!!!!!! I am successful because I surround myself with good people and he is one. You might get lucky and get a DR Feelgood but how long is that gonna last. You don't think the DEA reads this site???? Hell once you push send it is out there for everyone to see. I have lost more friends to this disease and have buried them saying to myself so by the grace of my God I am alive. If someone has as serious anxiety problem get help. I have already posted what to do, maybe you or those in need should reread them. And DR Joey I consider a friend who just happens to be one of the better docs who know addiction and I know quite a few. So instead of ranting ACT, and may you find peace. It sounds like you need some!!!!

"Premium non Nocere" ("First do now harm") is the first line of the Hippocratic Oath. That's what I live by. If some "patients" don't want to hearth truth about their "non-addicting" drugs, that's THEIR problem. If dozens of housewives think they are better qualified to decide who need Valium or Xanax, that's a real problem. A Hx of addiction isn't an excuse to continue or don't they teach logic any longer? Thanks for your kind words, but I use my training, education and experience to "call e'm as I see 'em." bet for some of these people this is a first time an MD told them "NO, that's too addicting" or "NO, we don't give Dilaudid to pts with Hxs of opiate abuse.".

There is a Doctor on this site by the name of DR Joey. Listen to him, he gives it to you straight and is a great source of knowledge. I have been interacting with him on this site and we share many of the same thoughts. Good luck. Scroll down find his post and do what he says, You will not regret it!!! im in Fayetteville North Carolina I am recently trying to go cold turkey off of methadone one of the suggestions to help ease this process is Xanax I was prescribed it before I was on methadone? Is there any doctors that people know that prescribe Xanax in my area?

Any doctors that prescribe Xanax and pain meds for documented anxiety, ptsd, and migranes? They also must take medicade. Located in Fayetville NC.

As I said when I first joined here, I wonder how many people the Government will let die rather than take needed medication. I was just at my California Pharmacy yesterday, and although the rules have not changed like the other States, they told me people that try to get combo orders of more than one controlled substance have to drive 200 miles for their Oxy's due to my towns location hundreds of miles away from the next town. I only take Xanax and never want to fill another prescription in my life if possible. I have a moderate supply to get me through the bad times ahead. Good luck to you with stopping!!

I am looking for a doctor. I have not had a doctor in almost 2 years now. I have been without my pain med and my tranquilizers. I have almost given up finding a doctor. I am in Memphis. I just stumbled on your comment.
I am not a kid, I am a 63 year old grandmother. However I am just about to scream ..and give up. If you know of any local doctor or clinic here that provides care for people who need medication for pain/anxiety please let me know. BLess you.

Where are you from? I am 26 years old and I just lost my twin baby boys at birth(they passed away inside of me) at 7 months and my anxiety that I had has about multiplied by 999million! I am having attacks EVERY day but my doctor won't give me more then clonapin and they are not helping with this pain I feel! On top of losing my twin boys almost at the end of my pregnancy me and my husband were robbed(took everything down to our toilet paper) we were shot at and it goes on and on but I just can't seem to function and I have tried all of the antidepressants before like lexapro, Wellbutrin, all of them Paxil, etc. and I have bad side effects with all of them. I don't know wht to do at this point! Please help! Oh and I also take adderall for my severe add due to not able to concentrate and keep up at work or on my studies etc. my doctor just is a guy and doesn't understand how bad I feel every every every single day!! Should I see a psychologist/therapist to be prescribed something stronger for my anxiety!? I am at a loss, I live in south jersey. And anyone else that sees this can also email me with any opinions! This is and was the worst thing that I would never even wish on my worst enemy! My twins had TTTS (twin to twin transfusion syndrome) which the doctors told me there was ABSOLUTELY no possible way they can stop that, me not them caused t, it is just something that about they said 30-40% of twins get, I had my appointment to get the surgery to cure it on a Wednesday and my water broke on Tuesday morning! I was in California in not a good area and the health care was horrible, I layed in the hospital bed as my doctor told me "were going to let you lay here until they both die!" I couldn't BELIEVE they said that to me!! They were small but I know for a fact if I was in jersey or further into California they would have been saved! I hate my life now and my anxiety is extremely bad since and I work to try and keep my mind off of everything but due to the add I have to take the adderall ! Any advice would be great!

Xanax withdrawl is horrible. Vivid nightmares, no appetite, restlessness, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, among various other symptoms, even death! So know the facts before u give advice. It doesnt matter what dose ur at. Stop taking ur 3 Xanax per day for a month & then get back on here with sum advice!!!!!!!!
